Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies

The Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies publishes articles on Latin American culture and on theoretical and historical approaches to cultural production in Latin America, including Caribbean, Latino/a and other diasporic, trans-regional formations. Multidisciplinary work defining and proposing new areas of research and debate is especially welcome. We encourage contributions on the full range of cultural objects, practices, and expressions (including literature, film, visual arts, music), as well as the informal structures of meaning and communication at societal and sub-cultural levels. We welcome work that engages disciplines such as film and media studies, literary criticism, anthropology, gender and queer studies, communication, history and memory studies, and other areas of analysis. We are interested in work which investigates multiple modernities and the effects on societies and social practice of modernization and globalization, as well as articles that reflect on the plural meanings of culture and cultural field, and the place of cultural theory. Engagements with instances of hybridity and transculturation, including the limitations of their conceptual reach, are also welcome; as are articles proposing original directions for their analysis through alternative ethnographies and epistemologies. Work that explores new methods and new areas of investigation, including the critical renewal of cultural studies itself as a transversal disciplinary and political project, is particularly encouraged. We invite articles on all relevant periods, from colonial times to the present. There is a review section which carries authoritative review articles on the state of the art in given fields. Other formats such as position papers, interviews, visual artistic production, chronicles and debates may also be considered for publication. Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice

ISSN: 1069-6679eISSN: 1944-7175

The  Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice aims to address and advance a broad gamut of substantive, managerial issues across the field of marketing. As reflected by the journal’s title, the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice is devoted to advancing the field of marketing in meaningful ways through scholarship that is both rigorous and relevant.

The Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice was the first high quality general marketing journal to require the pairing of academic sensibilities toward research with high potential for application of findings “on Monday morning” by marketing practitioners. The journal provides a unique outlet for publishing managerially relevant articles across a broad range of marketing subjects – an alternative to the fragmentation of the field of marketing into many sub-disciplines each represented by a specialty journal.

With a decidedly international inclusiveness in terms of authors and reviewers, the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice values and publishes both conceptual (non-empirical) and empirical work. The journal is also unbiased in preference to methodologies employed in empirical papers so long as the methodological approach properly fits the study’s aims and research questions.

Peer Review Policy: All research articles in this journal have undergone an initial editor screening and rigorous peer review by three anonymous expert referees. All peer review is double blind.

The Journal of Medieval Iberian Studies (JMIS) is a new interdisciplinary journal for innovative scholarship on the multiple languages, cultures, and historical processes of the Iberian Peninsula, and the zones with which it was in contact. JMIS, which aims to bring theoretically informed approaches into creative contact with more empirically minded scholarship, encompasses archaeology, art and architecture, music, philosophy and religious studies, as well as history, codicology, manuscript studies and the multiple Arabic, Latin, Romance, and Hebrew linguistic and literary traditions of Iberia. We welcome work that engages peninsular Iberia in relation to other parts of the 8216;post-classical' world; which explores links of colonization and exchange with the Maghreb, embraces the study of Occitania, addresses Iberia's presence in the Mediterranean, or adopts a transatlantic or Latin American frame. Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs

Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs is a peer reviewed research journal produced by the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs as part of its publication programme. Published since 1979, the Journal has firmly established itself as a highly respected and widely acclaimed academic and scholarly publication providing accurate, reliable and objective information.Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs provides a forum for frank but responsible discussion of issues relating to the life of Muslims in non-Muslim societies. The journal has become increasingly influential as the subject of Muslim minorities has acquired added significance. About 500 million Muslims, fully one third of the world Muslim population of 1.5 billion, live as minorities in 149 countries around the globe. Even as minorities they form significant communities within their countries of residence. What kind of life do they live? What are their social, political and economic problems? How do they perceive their strengths and weakness? What above all, is their future in Islam and in the communities of their residence? The journal explores these and similar questions from the Muslim and international point of view in a serious and responsible manner.Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs is the only scholarly journal studying Muslim communities in non-Muslim societies. It provides a wealth of information about these communities that cannot be found anywhere else in documented form. The journal has opened up a new area of specialisation in minority studies with original articles addressing the minority condition from the historical, demographic, social and economic perspective. Our research interests extend to include non-Muslim minorities living in Muslim societies, interfaith dialogue to promote understanding and the study of Muslim minority women, the minorities' minority. The Journal has indeed pioneered the way in examining theoretical and conceptual issues that define and explain the minority experience.Peer Review StatementAll research articles in the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs have been subjected to initial editorial screening and anonymous peer review. Journal of Personality Assessment

ISSN: 0022-3891eISSN: 1532-7752

The Journal of Personality Assessment (JPA) primarily publishes articles dealing with the development, evaluation, refinement, and application of personality assessment methods. Desirable articles address empirical, theoretical, instructional, or professional aspects of using psychological tests, interview data, or the applied clinical assessment process. They also advance the measurement, description, or understanding of personality, psychopathology, and human behavior. JPA is broadly concerned with developing and using personality assessment methods in clinical, counseling, forensic, and health psychology settings; with the assessment process in applied clinical practice; with the assessment of people of all ages and cultures; and with both normal and abnormal personality functioning. Manuscripts focused on personality constructs or processes rather than their assessment ordinarily should be submitted elsewhere. We encourage articles addressing under-studied areas. These include (a) systematic reviews or meta-analyses that summarize a body of evidence, (b) the effective integration of nomothetic empirical findings with the idiographic requirements of practice in which the assessor reasons through test and extra-test information to make individualized judgments and provide assessment feedback, and (c) the practical value of the clinical assessment process on the individuals receiving services and/or those who refer them for evaluation. In parallel it emphasizes that political action, processes and institutions are endowed with ideological import and shaped to a considerable extent by political ideologies. The indeterminacy of the notion of ideology is recognized in a number of ways. It is concerned with attempts to control political language and discourse, with epistemological issues of truth, distortion and dissimulation, and with sociological phenomena of power, dominance and exploitation, as well as with functional questions, denoting action-oriented political thinking. Significant attention is also devoted to analysing ideologies in terms of their actual histories, geographical and cultural expression, and the idea-patterns of particular ideological variants and ideological traditions. The changing forms of ideologies in the 21st century constitute a further focus.

Journal of Political Power

ISSN: 2158-379XeISSN: 2158-3803

Since Aristotle's classification of political systems, power has been one of the most central and debated themes of the social sciences. Yet, despite its centrality, there has been little consensus on what constitutes the essence of power. It is part of the raison d'etre of the Journal of Political Power to capitalize on the consequent debates surrounding power. In political science, there have been continual debates from Dahl to Lukes and, recently, between followers of Foucauldian perspectives and more modernist view points. These have centred on the contrast between power in terms of agency and the way in which social consciousness create conditions of possibility for action or differential capacities. If we move into a cognate discipline, such as International Relations, we find that the area is divided between those who consider power purely in terms of material resources and those who argue that it is defined by ideas and perceptions - so-called realists'and idealists' A similar division is found in political-sociology, where some focus upon power in terms of legitimacy and authority while other, more 'hard-headed' theorists view it Machivallian terms of war and deceit. In political philosophy, the key division lies between those who consider power as defined by its exercise, its effects, intentions, and potentialities. In rational choice theory power is divided between those who view it positionally, almost as a kind of luck, and those who see it as episodic. In anthropology, in contrast to all the above, power is theorized in terms of rituals and ceremony. In sociology, there is a clear division between those influenced by Marxism, who define power in terms of class or economy, and the followers of the tradition of Weber, who consider power as linked to authority and domination. In feminist literature, the debate is dominated by the intricacies of the division between social constructivist accounts of gender and those who emphasize violence and material resources. Running through all these debates is the fundamental contrast between those who view power negatively, as domination, and those who think of it positively, as an essential ingredient of autonomy and empowerment. In short, some of the key debates within the social sciences are centred on the theme of power and it is intended that this journal should reflect this.Aside from theoretical debates, the Journal of Political Power is a primary outlet for those doing empirical work on relations of power and powerlessness. For instance, the Journal welcomes empirical analysis of the process whereby globalization, ethnicity, nationalism, war and gender are central to the constitution of power, whether conceptualised as domination or empowerment.

Journal of Postcolonial Writing

ISSN: 1744-9855eISSN: 1744-9863

Journal of Postcolonial Writing is now using ScholarOne Manuscripts8482;. Submit your paper today! The Journal of Postcolonial Writing (previously World Literature Written in English) is an academic journal devoted to the study of literature written in English and published throughout the world. In particular it aims to explore the interface between the postcolonial writing of the modern global era and the economic forces of production which increasingly commodify culture. This approach embraces the deterritorialised nationalisms, the new ethnicities which intersect with and cut across national boundaries, 'new margins' created by global economic practices, global technologies and commodities, and redefinitions of the local that globalisation catalyses. A particular focus is on the reshaping of inner maps of the metropolis through the ethnic, diasporic voices and the alternative and interstitial modes of writing associated with the new margins. The Journal of Postcolonial Writing interrogates assumptions underpinning postcolonial theory and its liberationist rhetoric by focussing upon the discursive practices informing contemporary writing and the impact of the global, the regional, and the local upon each other. Our concern is with the conditions under which a resistant 'global imagination' comes into being. We welcome critical, theoretically informed articles which will address the postcolonial in its relation to the global and open up new perspectives. These can emerge from examining the work of individual writers, critiquing contemporary theories of the postcolonial and globalisation, or revisiting classical texts of literature and canonical theories from a range of postcolonial and global perspectives. In addition Journal of Postcolonial Writing aims to publish:Interviews and profiles of postcolonial writers and theorists.Reviews of critical studies of contemporary writing.Selections of poetry and short prose fiction. Journal of Postcolonial Writing is a member of the Canadian Association of Learned Journals and the Council of Editors of Learned Journals. It is indexed in the American Humanities Index, the MLA International Bibliography, the Journal of Commonwealth Literature and in AUSTLIT, the Australian Literature On-line Database.Disclaimer Taylor & Francis makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the 8220;Content8221;) contained in its publications. Journal of Research on Educational Effectiveness

ISSN: 1934-5747eISSN: 1934-5739

As the flagship publication for the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness, the Journal of Research on Educational Effectiveness (JREE) publishes original articles from a multidisciplinary community of researchers who are committed to applying principles of scientific inquiry to the study of educational problems. Articles published in JREE should advance our knowledge of factors important for educational success and/or improve our ability to conduct further disciplined studies of pressing educational problems. JREE welcomes manuscripts that fit into one of the following categories: 1) interventions and evaluation studies, and 2) methodological studies. The first category includes studies that focus on process and implementation and seek to demonstrate causal claims in educational research. To establish a stronger connection between scientific evidence and educational practice, studies submitted to JREE should focus on pressing problems found in classrooms and schools. Studies that help advance our understanding and demonstrate effectiveness related to challenges in reading, mathematics education, and science education are especially welcome as are studies related to cognitive functions, social processes, organizational factors, and cultural features that mediate and/or moderate critical educational outcomes. On occasion, invited responses to JREE articles and rejoinders to those responses will be included in an issue. Peer Review Policy: All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.

Journal of Responsible Innovation

ISSN: 2329-9460eISSN: 2329-9037
DOAJ Logo

Aims and Scope

The Journal of Responsible Innovation ( JRI) provides a forum for discussions of the normative assessment and governance of knowledge-based innovation. JRI offers humanists, social scientists, policy analysts and legal scholars, and natural scientists and engineers an opportunity to articulate, strengthen, and critique the relations among approaches to responsible innovation, thus giving further shape to a newly emerging community of research and practice.  These approaches include ethics, technology assessment, governance, sustainability, socio-technical integration, and others. JRI intends responsible innovation to be inclusive of such terms as responsible development and sustainable development, and the journal invites comparisons and contrasts among such concepts. While issues of risk and environmental health and safety are relevant, JRI especially encourages attention to the assessment of the broader and more subtle human and social dimensions of innovation—including moral, cultural, political, and religious dimensions, social risk, and sustainability addressed in a systemic fashion.

JRI invites three kinds of written contributions: research articles of 6,000 to 10,000 words in length, inclusive of notes and references, that communicate original theoretical or empirical investigations; perspectives of approximately 2,000 words in length that communicate opinions, summaries, or reviews of timely issues, publications, cultural or social events, or other activities; and pedagogy, communicating in appropriate length experience in or studies of teaching, training, and learning related to responsible innovation in formal (e.g., classroom) and informal (e.g., museum) environments.

JRI is open to alternative styles or genres of writing beyond the traditional research paper or report, including creative or narrative nonfiction, dialogue, and first-person accounts, provided that scholarly completeness and integrity are retained. As the journal’s online environment evolves, JRI intends to invite other kinds of contributions that could include photo-essays, videos, etc.

Journal of School Choice

ISSN: 1558-2159eISSN: 1558-2167

The aim of the Journal of School Choice (JSC) is to energize multi-disciplinary scientific analysis and policy discussion with key insights into the nature of every major version of school choice: 1.) public school choice through residence relocation; 2.) district public school choice without relocation; 3.) chartered, non-district public schools; 4.) targeted tuition vouchers; 5.) non-refundable, personal use tuition tax credits; 6.) non-refundable, low income voucher donation tax credit; 7.) refundable tuition tax credits; 8.) 8216;pure' universal tuition vouchers; 9.) option-demand universal tuition vouchers; 10.) formal separation of school and state; 11.) informal, compromised school-state separation; and 12.) de-regulation; allow greater differences in schools. JSC will provide those insights in one of six forms: 1.) News and Views (600 to 1500 words); 2.) Commentary (5000* words); 3.) Surveys (8000* words); 4.) Methodological (8000 words); 5.) Analysis (8000* words); 6.) Book Reviews (1200 words). * recommended limit, but flexible at the editor's discretion.Organizations start new Journals to help meet an under-served scholarly arena; to provide an outlet for academic research that deserves additional attention. Certainly, school choice is seeing growing attention as a key ingredient of reform strategies, and also as an arena in which to compare political accountability to market accountability. Annotated List of School Choice Research Issues Editor Vision StatementJohn Merrifield, Editor, Professor of EconomicsJanuary, 2009I envision the Journal of School Choice as the clearinghouse of scholarly discussion and analysis of the school choice aspects of public policies. The Journal of School Choice will be interdisciplinary and international. Along with empirical analysis of school choice aspects of public policies, the Journal of School Choice will publish peer-reviewed scholarly objective commentary, advocacy, and policy critique. For this journal, that is especially important to my 'Moving Forward' motto. For many of the twelve types of school choice policies, including many that seem likely to have the largest impacts, there is no direct evidence to analyze. Where direct evidence is scarce, scholarly commentary utilizing accepted theory, core principles, and indirect evidence, is the only way to develop insights and increase understanding of likely policy outcomes. The peer reviewed objective commentary, advocacy, and critique pieces I envision are not opinion pieces per se. I view them as heavily referenced exercises in transparent deduction. Of course, scholars will differ in where theory, core principles, alleged evidence, and values lead. The Journal of School Choice will improve understanding of those differences. Scholars have opinions, and learning the basis of them is very insightful.Part of my vision is an active, diverse editorial board. They are part of the review process. So far, authors have received comments from two reviewers, me, plus from 3-7 members of the editorial board within three months of their submission.Publication office: Taylor & Francis, Inc., 325 Chestnut Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Journal of Small Business & Entrepreneurship

ISSN: 0827-6331eISSN: 2169-2610
Objectives

Journal of Small Business & Entrepreneurship is a double-blind reviewed and scholarly Journal dedicated to publishing in English and French original and outstanding studies that improve knowledge and understanding of entrepreneurship and small business management and, eventually, shape these fields of research.

Studies published might be theoretical pieces, qualitative and quantitative empirical work, and/or case studies. Given that the objective of the Journal is to push the boundaries of current entrepreneurial and small business management thoughts, case studies to be published in JSBE must have a theoretical perspective. The onus of proving the theoretical contribution of the case lies on the author who, to this end, can introduce the case with a short text of 250-500 words. The theoretical contribution can be related to the fact that the case challenges the existing theory or highlights it better. Consequently, cases and teaching notes that are written just for a didactic purpose as an illustration of a theory in classroom will not fit to being published in the JSBE .

Scope

Journal of Social Entrepreneurship

ISSN: 1942-0676eISSN: 1942-0684

This exciting new Journal will focus on social entrepreneurship and social innovation across a range of sectors and cultural settings. There will be three key criteria behind the Journal. Firstly, sociality: by which is meant strategic primacy being given to a clearly defined social purpose or public benefit that can be identified by organisational type (eg charity, co-operative), output (a normatively defined public benefit), or sector (eg health, education). This includes a range of public benefit externalities including positive environmental and sustainability impacts.Secondly, innovation: by which is meant conventional notions of entrepreneurial bricolage or Schumpeterian disruptive, systematic change supplied to social or economic systems. To date, much of social entrepreneurship scholarship has emerged from business schools and has - as a consequence - tended to focus on organisational, strategic, and financial issues. The perspective has largely been to use business models to explore social innovation, and particularly, social enterprise (social entrepreneurship that moves towards self-funding). The approach has largely been 'what can social entrepreneurship learn from business perspectives'. This is an important part of the scholarly picture, but the Journal of Social Entrepreneurship will have a far broader remit. The vision for the Journal is as a high quality, multi-disciplinary publication that embraces and encourages work on social entrepreneurship from a range of scholarly perspectives beyond - but including - business and management and which accepts that social entrepreneurship has much to offer in its own right to business, and the third and public sectors. Primary amongst these disciplines will be: social policy and political science; anthropology; sociology; not-for-profit management; finance; organizational theory; strategy; social geography; (development) economics; ethics and moral philosophy; and social psychology. However, the Journal will be open to work in any scholarly tradition with the twin caveats that the work is squarely focused on social entrepreneurship, as defined above, and that it is high quality. Thirdly, market-orientation: by which is meant, not only conventional economic market strategies (as in the case of social enterprises), but a wider sense of placing social entrepreneurship in a broader competitive landscape of funding, outputs, accountability and legitimacy, all focused on a relentless effort to improve performance and increase social impact. The Journal will be rigorously international in scope both in terms of its unit of analysis and its scholarly contributors. Social entrepreneurship is a truly global phenomenon and the Journal will recognise its culturally different manifestations across countries as well as explore key contrasts. Finally, the Journal will be unprescriptive with respect to methodology, accepting qualitative and quantitative work equally on merit. However, in order to build the academic credibility of social entrepreneurship going forward, there is currently a need to move away from both descriptive case studies and individual 'hero' accounts of social entrepreneurs, so the Journal will actively look to support both more theory-inflected work and broader empirical studies. This definition of social entrepreneurship includes both for and not-for-profit organisations, as well as public sector bodies, though it excludes all organisations whose primary purpose is profit-maximisation, irrespective of whether they also aim to do social good (this falls under quite the seperate heading of Corporate Social Responsibility which will not feature in the journal). Examples of Bottom of the Pyramid innovation will be considered for publication where the focal organisation aims first at social or environmental value creation by using a for-profit model. The Journal of Spirituality in Mental Health is an interdisciplinary professional journal (retiled from American Journal of Pastoral Counseling to better reflect its broader scope) that is devoted to the scholarly study of spirituality as a resource for counseling and psychotherapeutic disciplines. This peer-reviewed quarterly journal seeks to enhance the understanding of spirituality as a core component of human well-being in individual, relational, and communal life. Journal of Sport and Tourism

ISSN: 1477-5085eISSN: 1029-5399

View a list of the latest free articles available from Journal of Sport & Tourism The Journal of Sport & Tourism (JS&T) is a multidisciplinary publication featuring high quality articles on all aspects of the relationship between sport and tourism. It welcomes submissions from all relevant subject areas, such as sport, leisure, physical education and tourism, and from a wide range of disciplines including, but not confined to: sociology, psychology, geography, policy studies, management studies, economics and marketing. Submissions may be empirical or conceptual, but should have a clearly articulated theoretical basis. JS&T takes an inclusive and wide-ranging view of the definitions of both sport and tourism, and therefore considers professional and amateur, competitive and non-competitive, social, recreational, and informal activities, as well as leisure, business, and day-trip tourism, to fall within its scope. The journal is interested in tourism incorporating any form of sporting interest, not just tourism to actively participate in sport. Consequently, manuscripts relating to tourism where sport is a subsidiary interest or activity are as appropriate for submission to JS&T as manuscripts relating to tourism where sport is the prime purpose. JS&T also covers wider aspects of the relationship between sport and tourism, such as policy partnerships between sport and tourism agencies or the role of tourism in sports development, and is interested in manuscripts that bring perspectives traditionally associated with the tourism area to the study of sport, and vice-versa. All manuscripts published in JS&T are double-blind peer reviewed by accomplished scholars in the subject/topic area of the manuscript and in the disciplinary or methodological approach used. The standard for publication in JS&T is that the paper must make a clear contribution substantively, theoretically or methodologically, to the body of knowledge relating to the relationship between sport and tourism. Peer Review Statement As noted above, all research articles in JS&T undergo a rigorous peer review process. This involves initial screening by the Editor and an Assistant Editor prior to double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers. As such, all research articles published in JS&T have been scrutinised by at least four scholars working in the field. Research Notes published in JS&T are subject to the same peer review process as full research articles. His article was printed in the first issue of 2010. Over the last twenty years, the reshaping of the world politics and the development of innovative military technologies has placed a huge question mark beside the efficacy of force in contemporary statecraft. Journal of Trust Research

ISSN: 2151-5581eISSN: 2151-559X

Journal Mission

Trust is imperative to constructive social interaction and cooperation at and across all levels. Positioned as a high-impact source journal providing novel ideas for other journals (both academic and practical), the mission of JTR is:

  • to inquire into the nature, form, base and role of trust as well as the mechanism and stage of trust-building and trust repair at and across personal, group, organizational, community and national levels so as to facilitate and stimulate informed academic dialogue and debate toward an integrative body of knowledge via both relevant and rigorous theory-building and theory-testing
  • to influence individuals, groups, organizations, communities and nations in the choice of practical solutions for their trust-related management by providing the most relevant and rigorous research.

Journal Philosophy

JTR is particularly interested in those studies that are inter-disciplinary, cross-cultural, cross-level, multi-method, context-rich, process-oriented, and practice-relevant in perspectives, so as to effectively investigate the holistic content and dynamic process of organizational and societal trust, without the perils of reductionist assumptions. JTR identifies the above as the emerging trends with the greatest potential to contribute to our rich and deep understanding about the complex phenomenon of trust.

Journal Scope

As an inter-disciplinary and cross-cultural journal dedicated to advancing a cross-level, context-rich, process-oriented, and practice-relevant journal, JTR provides a focal point for an open  dialogue and debate between diverse researchers, thus enhancing the understanding of trust in general and trust-related management in particular, especially in its organizational and social context in the broadest sense. Through both theoretical development and empirical investigation, JTR seeks to open the "black-box" of trust in various contexts.

JTR aims to publish relevant and rigorous research contributing to knowledge in six major domains that are interdisciplinary and cross-cultural:

  • General research on trust to build an integrative framework with a common language across disciplines and across cultures (building upon but extending beyond disciplinary and cultural perspectives)
  • General research on trust at and across the levels of individual, group, organization,  community, and nation
  • Specific research on trust management within and between organizations and societies
  • Specific research on interpersonal trust within and between organizations and societies
  • Specific research on institutional trust within and between organizations and societies
  • Specific research on inter-organizational and social trust within and across nations

Journal Readership

JTR specializes in dedicated research on trust in general and organizational trust in particular, thereby serving the needs primarily of scholars and secondarily practitioners. The unique features of JTR as a focal point for an inter-disciplinary, cross-cultural, cross-level, context-rich, process-oriented, and practice-relevant research Journal will appeal to the broadest readership, especially those who believe in such values as the indicators of high quality research.

Journal of Women, Politics and Policy

ISSN: 1554-477XeISSN: 1554-4788

The Journal of Women, Politics & Policy explores women's roles in the political process -- as voters, activists, leaders in interest groups and political parties, and office holders in the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government, including the increasingly relevant international bodies such as the European Union and the World Trade Organization. It examines the impact of public policies on women's lives, examining areas such as tax and budget issues, poverty reduction and income security, education and employment, care giving, and health and human rights, including violence, safety, and reproductive rights. This multidisciplinary, international journal presents the work of social scientists -- including political scientists, sociologists, economists, and public policy specialists -- who study the world through a gendered lens and uncover how gender functions in the political and policy arenas. Throughout, the journal places a special emphasis on the intersection of gender, race/ethnicity, class, and other dimensions of women's experiences. The Journal of Women, Politics & Policy: * is devoted to the advancement of knowledge about women's political participation and about the development of public policies that affect women and their families * emphasizes rigorous empirical research and the development of theory about political and policy processes * publishes feminist theory and reports from feminist activists as well as interviews with, and case studies of, specific women leaders * contributes to the development and understanding of government policies designed to improve women's lives * welcomes submissions that include attention to the intersection of gender, race/ethnicity and class. Peer Review Policy: All papers in this journal have undergone editorial screening and peer reviews. Publication office: Taylor & Francis, Inc., 325 Chestnut Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Journal of Youth Studies

ISSN: 1367-6261eISSN: 1469-9680

Journal of Youth Studies is an international scholarly journal devoted to a theoretical and empirical understanding of young people's experiences and life contexts. Over the last decade, changing socio-economic circumstances have had important implications for young people: new opportunities have been created, but the risks of marginalisation and exclusion have also become significant. This is the background against which Journal of Youth Studies has been launched, with the aim of becoming the key multidisciplinary journal for academics with interests relating to youth and adolescence. Journal of Youth Studies is focused upon young people within a range of contexts, such as education, the labour market and the family, and highlights key research themes such as the construction of identity, the use of leisure time, involvement in crime, consumption and political behaviour. The journal particularly encourages the submission of articles which highlight interconnections between the different spheres of young people's lives (such the transition from school to work) and articles which offer a critical perspective on social policies which affect young people. Journal of Youth Studies brings together social scientists working in a range of disciplines. These include sociology, psychology, education, social policy, political science, economics, anthropology and social geography. Peer Review: All review papers in this journal have undergone editorial screening and full peer review. Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy

ISSN: 1354-7860eISSN: 1469-9648

Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy (JAPE) is concerned primarily with the developing economies within Pacific Asia and South Asia. It aims to promote greater understanding of the complex factors that have influenced and continue to shape the transformation of the diverse economies in this region. Studies on developed countries will be considered only if they have implications for the developing countries in the region. JAPE's editorial policy is to maintain a sound balance between theoretical and empirical studies. JAPE publishes research papers in economics but also welcomes papers that deal with economic issues using a multi-disciplinary approach. Submissions may range from overviews spanning the region or parts of it, to papers with a detailed focus on particular issues facing individual countries. JAPE has a broad readership, which makes papers concerned with narrow and detailed technical matters inappropriate for inclusion. In addition, papers should not be simply one more application of a formal model or statistical technique used elsewhere. Authors should note that discussion of results must make sense intuitively, and relate to the institutional and historical context of the geographic area analyzed. We particularly ask authors to spell out the practical policy implications of their findings for governments and business. In addition to articles, JAPE publishes short notes, comments and book reviews. From time to time, it also publishes special issues on matters of great importance to economies in the Asia Pacific area. Peer Review Statement All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and 'anonymous double-blind' refereeing by two referees.
