Acta Biochimica Polonica is a journal covering enzymology and metabolism, membranes and bioenergetics, gene structure and expression, protein, nucleic acid and carbohydrate structure and metabolism.Acta Biochimica Polonica publishes research articles, short communications, review articles and book reviews.
Acta virologica (4 issues per year in printed and electronic version) is an international journal of predominantly molecular and cellular virology. It provides means for rapid publication of original papers dealing with fundamental research mainly on human, animal and plant viruses. As a matter of tradition also rickettsiae are included. Areas of interest are structure, genetics and morphology of viruses, molecular biology of virus-cell interactions, pathogenesis of viral diseases, viral immunology, vaccines, antiviral drugs and viral diagnostics. Original experimental papers may have the form of full-length articles, short communications or letters to the editor. Besides them also review articles, book reviews, announcements and reports on various scientific events are accepted. For details see Instructions to Authors in No. 1 of each volume of Acta virologica.
poisoning and infection control biomedical scientists are the foundation of modern healthcare. Biomedical scientists work in partnership with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to perform many different roles in NHS laboratories. Without biomedical scientists the diagnosis of disease, the evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment, and research into the causes and cures of disease would not be possible.Doctors treat their patients based on results of the vital tests and investigations that diagnose often serious and life threatening illnesses such as cancer, AIDS or diabetes. Without biomedical scientists departments such as Accident & Emergency and operating theatres could not properly function. The many roles of support by biomedical scientists for A & E and theatre surgery includes tests for emergency blood transfusions and blood grouping as well as tests on samples from patients who have overdosed on unknown substances, or may have leukaemia or are suspected of having a heart attack. The work of a biomedical scientist must be accurate and efficient because patients' lives may depend on their skills. They are continually increasing their knowledge as laboratory techniques develop and research transforms the cutting edge of science and medicine. Scientists learn to work with computers, sophisticated automated equipment, microscopes and other hi-tech laboratory equipment. They employ a wide range of complex modern techniques to perform their.
Experimental Biology and Medicine is a journal dedicated to the publication of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research in the biomedical sciences. Published monthly, EBM provides both research and review articles as well as meeting symposia and brief communications. Articles in EBM represent cutting edge research at the overlapping junctions of the biological, physical and engineering sciences that impact upon the health and welfare of the world's population. Topics covered in EBM include: Anatomy/Pathology; Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; Cell and Developmental Biology; Endocrinology and Nutrition; Immunology/Microbiology/Virology; Neuroscience; Pharmacology and Toxicology; Physiology; Bioimaging; Biomedical Engineering; Bionanoscience; Genomics, Proteomics, and Bioinformatics; Stem Cell Biology; Systems Biology, and Translational Research.
