Critical Discourse Studies is an interdisciplinary journal for the social sciences. Its primary aim is to publish critical research that advances our understanding of how discourse figures in social processes, social structures, and social change.Critical Discourse Studies has been established in response to the proliferation of critical discourse studies across the social sciences and humanities. We will consider for publication papers that meet the needs of scholars in diverse disciplines and areas of study which develop critical perspectives on the relationship between discourse and social dynamics. Relevant areas and disciplines include: anthropology, communication, linguistics, sociology, politics, political economy, education, psychology, media studies, geography, urban studies, cultural studies, management studies, literary studies, history, technology studies, legal studies, philosophy, gender studies, migration studies, ethnic studies and others. We also welcome papers which connect critical academic research with practical concerns and agendas, including those of activist and grassroots political movements.The scope of critical discourse studies is not limited to linguistic studies, or articles that are primarily empirical or analytical. Critical examination of non-linguistic phenomena that take a significant discourse orientation, as well as theoretical and methodological papers that advance critical understandings of discursive phenomena, are welcomed.Recognising the diversity, depth, and history of scholarship in the growth of critical discourse studies, no particular theoretical, disciplinary, or methodological "schools" or paradigms will be privileged over others in the selection of papers for publication. The primary criteria for publication are originality, scholarly rigor, coherence of argument, relevance and timeliness of research.Critical Discourse Studies is an international and interdisciplinary journal. The membership of its advisory board reflects the cultural, geographical, theoretical, and disciplinary diversity of the journal and its readership.Critical Discourse Studies encourages contributions from both new and established scholars. The journal recognises that the new and rapidly changing social relations of the current age call for new approaches to understanding the waves of change that continue to impact upon social, political, economic, and cultural formations. Contemporary Politics provides a platform for studies of politics that are alert to the international without being international relations, and conscious of national difference without ignoring international context. Such studies are often implicitly comparative, even if not explicitly so.Contemporary Politics ranges across international relations, comparative politics and national politics, and is not constrained by disciplinary boundaries in any domain. It takes an interest in major conceptual and theoretical issues generated by current world politics.Contemporary Politics is keen to uncover and explain politics in hidden spaces, and welcomes submissions that bring marginalized and misunderstood aspects of current international politics into focus and into the academic mainstream.Contemporary Politics carries articles that are accessible to informed academic and non-academic audiences around the world. While the journal does not have a book review section, it does carry lengthy review articles that are both informative and theoretically rich.Contemporary Politics publishes special issues on topics of especially broad interest and great moment. Theory, Culture & Society is a highly ranked, high impact factor, rigorously peer reviewed journal that publishes original research and review articles in the social and cultural sciences. The Journal of Personality Assessment (JPA) primarily publishes articles dealing with the development, evaluation, refinement, and application of personality assessment methods. Desirable articles address empirical, theoretical, instructional, or professional aspects of using psychological tests, interview data, or the applied clinical assessment process. They also advance the measurement, description, or understanding of personality, psychopathology, and human behavior. JPA is broadly concerned with developing and using personality assessment methods in clinical, counseling, forensic, and health psychology settings; with the assessment process in applied clinical practice; with the assessment of people of all ages and cultures; and with both normal and abnormal personality functioning. Manuscripts focused on personality constructs or processes rather than their assessment ordinarily should be submitted elsewhere. We encourage articles addressing under-studied areas. These include (a) systematic reviews or meta-analyses that summarize a body of evidence, (b) the effective integration of nomothetic empirical findings with the idiographic requirements of practice in which the assessor reasons through test and extra-test information to make individualized judgments and provide assessment feedback, and (c) the practical value of the clinical assessment process on the individuals receiving services and/or those who refer them for evaluation. Agricultural History Review is the leading journal for the publication of original research in all aspects of agricultural and rural history. First published in 1952, the Review reflects the diversity of approaches which are possible in rural history. Its editors welcome submissions in any aspect of the history of agriculture, rural society and rural economy over the past millennium. Whilst it is not concerned with current policy debates, it is interested in considering discussions of the historical dimensions of current problems in rural society and food supply.
