Critical Studies on Security

Security is one of the defining features of our, or any, time. Collectively we seek security, value security, desire security, while at the same time often being troubled by the actions that are taken in the name of our security.  Critical Studies on Security is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the study of ‘security’ in and through social critique. The journal aims to publish theoretically informed scholarship, which engages with the practice and politics of security. We welcome articles from or across the range of disciplines, and from any of the critical social theoretical positions.

Critical Studies on Security publishes scholarship that has undergone rigorous peer review, including an initial screening by the editors, and recommendation by at least two anonymous reviewers.

Founded in 1890, Ethics publishes scholarly work in moral, political, and legal philosophy from a variety of intellectual perspectives, including social and political theory, law, and economics. In addition to major articles, Ethics also publishes review essays, discussion articles, and book reviews. The Editors welcome work that draws on more than one disciplinary approach, as well as contributions from outside the United States. Essays should avoid unnecessary technicality and strive to be accessible to the widest possible audience without sacrificing clarity and rigor. Ethics publishes both theory and the application of theory to contemporary moral issues. Historical essays are welcome, provided they have significant implications for contemporary theory.

Sociology of Health & Illness is an international journal which publishes sociological articles on all aspects of health, illness, medicine and health care. We welcome empirical and theoretical contributions in this field in the form of original research reports or review articles. In addition to the six regular issues published each year, subscribers receive a further special issue. These themed issues aim to identify and contribute to new areas of debate and research in the discipline and each issue is devoted to an important topic of current interest.

Turkey is a country whose importance is rapidly growing in international affairs. A rapidly developing democratic state with a strong economy, complex society, active party system, and powerful armed forces, Turkey is playing an increasingly critical role in Europe, the Middle East, and the Caucasus.Given Turkey’s significance and the great interest in studying its history, politics, and foreign policy, Turkish Studies presents a forum for scholarly discussion on these topics and more. The International Journal of Sports Science & Coaching is a peer-reviewed, international, academic/professional journal, which aims to bridge the gap between coaching and sports science.The journal will integrate theory and practice in sports science, promote critical reflection of coaching practice, and evaluate commonly accepted beliefs about coaching effectiveness and performance enhancement. Open learning systems will be promoted in which: (a) sports science is made accessible to coaches, translating knowledge into working practice; and (b) the challenges faced by coaches are communicated to sports scientists.The vision of the journal is to support the development of a community in which: (i) sports scientists and coaches respect and learn from each other as they assist athletes to acquire skills by training safely and effectively, thereby enhancing their performance, maximizing their enjoyment of the sporting experience and facilitating character development; and (ii) scientific research is embraced in the quest to uncover, understand and develop the processes involved in sports coaching and elite performance.The journal will publish peer-reviewed, original papers representing a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Case studies of work between sports scientists and coaches are especially encouraged. The journal also encourages the submission of papers, including advocacy pieces, which may have been presented in a forum or special interest group at a conference; and philosophical works that address connections between sports science and coaching. The peer review process is open, meaning that both authors and referees know each other's identity. Such a process, with its transparency, is in tune with the mission of the Journal.

With a notable focus on China, Economic and Political Studies aims to disseminate significant theoretical, analytical, and empirical research on political-economic phenomena in China (or relevant to China) that have wider implications for international political economic studies. EPS encourages solid research findings that may pose challenges to and even revise the existing theories and methodologies. It welcomes original research articles that analyse the role of economic and political institutions, and consider China’s interaction with the world.

Contributions are invited from the international community of researchers in political economy, economics, political science, Chinese studies and related disciplines. Themed review articles, especially for research work in the Chinese language will also be published in order to promote the academic dialogue.

The Journal of Map & Geography Libraries is a multidisciplinary publication that covers international research and information on the production, procurement, processing, and utilization of geographic and cartographic materials and geospatial information. Papers submitted undergo a rigorous peer-review process by professors, researchers, and practicing librarians with a passion for geography, cartographic materials, and the mapping and spatial sciences. The scope of coverage encompasses basic research on cognitive clinical processes, innovative assessment and treatment technologies, expert perspectives on specific clinical problems and populations, and critical issues in translating research to practice. Employee Responsibilities and Rights Journal fosters development of the field of employee relations by presenting high-quality, peer-reviewed original research articles and by linking practitioner concerns involving the employment relationship with academic rigor. The journal is interdisciplinary in focus, drawing from a broad range of disciplines including ethics, organizational behavior, law, economics, sociology, social psychology, industrial and employment relations, administrative and organizational studies, and philosophy to further the understanding of both employee responsibilities and rights. The Journal of Forecasting is an international journal that publishes refereed papers on forecasting. It is multidisciplinary, welcoming papers dealing with any aspect of forecasting: theoretical, practical, computational and methodological. American Journal of Men's Health (AJMH) is a peer-reviewed quarterly resource for cutting-edge information regarding men's health and illness. The Journal of African American Studies publishes original research on topics of professional and disciplinary concern for the social progress of people of African descent.
