The Philosophical Quarterly is one of the most highly regarded and established academic journals in philosophy. In an age of increasing specialism, it remains committed to publishing high-quality articles from leading international scholars across the range of philosophical study. Accessibility of its content for all philosophers - including students - is an editorial priority. The Philosophical Quarterly regularly publishes articles, discussions and reviews, and runs an annual Essay Prize. Its distinguished international contributors engage with both the established and the new, for example, through reflection on cognitive psychology, decision theory, quantum mechanics. The Quarterly's outstanding book review section provides peer review comment on nearly one hundred of the most significant philosophical books each year.

The International Journal of Comparative and Applied Criminal Justice (IJCACJ) publishes work on criminal justice using a range of theoretical methodologies and approaches, focuses on applied research, and adopts an explicitly comparative or international approach. Work published in IJCACJ draws on insights from Economics, Sociology, Criminology, Geography, and Organization and Management Studies, applied to a Criminal Justice context.

IJCACJ today is one of the best-known, most widely-read, international criminal justice journals. It is the official journal of the American Society for Criminology’s Division of International Criminology, and all members of the Division receive access to the Journal. IJCACJ is published quarterly from Michigan State University’s School of Criminal Justice.

All research articles published in this journal have been subject to initial appraisal by the Editor-in-Chief, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to double-blind peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. Submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts.

Studies in Comparative International Development is an interdisciplinary journal that addresses political, social, economic, and environmental change in local, national, and international contexts. The journal has a tradition of presenting critical and innovative analytical perspectives that challenge prevailing orthodoxies. It publishes original research articles on all regions of the world and is open to all theoretical and methodological approaches. Major areas of investigation include political and state institutions, the effects of a changing international economy, political-economic models of growth and distribution, and the transformation of social structure and culture. In addition to research articles, the journal publishes occasional reviews that summarize and assess particular areas of research and that evaluate or make a contribution to debates about the conduct of social science research.

Critical Inquiry in Language Studies: An International Journal (CILS) is the peer-reviewed journal of the International Society for Language Studies. Language studies overlaps fields of applied linguistics, language policy, language planning, modern languages and literatures, education, anthropology, sociology, history, political science, psychology, and cultural studies (including related fields, such as law, media, and information technology).CILS focuses on critical discourse and research in language matters, broadly conceived, that is generated from qualitative, critical pedagogical, and emergent paradigms. In these paradigms, language is considered to be a socially constituted cultural construct that gives shape to, and at the same time is shaped by, the larger social, political, and historical contexts of its use. The primary purpose of the journal is to provide a forum for discussion of the research from such emerging paradigms and at the same time to bridge arbitrary disciplinary territories in which it is being done. Psychology of Sport and Exercise is an international forum for scholarly reports in the psychology of sport and exercise, broadly defined. Manuscripts will be considered for publication which deal with high quality research and comprehensive research reviews. The journal is open to the use of diverse methodological approaches. The Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television is an interdisciplinary journal concerned with the evidence produced by the mass media for historians and social scientists, and with the impact of mass communications on the political and social history of the twentieth century.The needs of those engaged in research and teaching are served by scholarly articles, book reviews and by archival reports concerned with the preservation and availability of records. Contemporary Jewry serves as the single source for the social scientific consideration of world Jewry, its institutions, trends, character, and concerns. In its pages can be found work by leading scholars and important new researchers from North America, Europe, Australasia and Israel. While much relevant scholarship about Jewry is published in general social science journals, as well as more narrowly focused periodicals, no single scholarly journal focuses primarily on the social scientific study of Jewry.Over 500 articles have been published in Contemporary Jewry since its inception. Each issue includes original research articles across a variety of social-science disciplines, including anthropology, demography, economics, education, ethnography, social history, politics, population, social psychology, and sociology.  We are open to submissions of shorter research notes, and, on occasion, will publish important work that had originally appeared in Hebrew or other languages. Special issues have focused on such topics as the National Jewish Population Survey, Jewish community surveys, Ultra-Orthodox Jews, Women in the Holocaust, economic frameworks for understanding Jewry, and Jewry in Israel. Individual articles have treated a range of topics, from Jewish identity in Syria and the Ukraine to New Zealand and Israel: from an analysis of rabbis’ salaries to a historical study of Jewish women physicians in Central Europe: from survey research to ethnography to historical analysis.Each year Contemporary Jewry includes the Marshall Sklare Award lecture, delivered at the Association of Jewish Studies conference in co-sponsorship with the Association for the Social Scientific Study of Jewry, the founding association of the journal, by distinguished scholars chosen to receive the award because of their contributions to the field of the social scientific study of Jewry. The International Journal of African Renaissance Studies is a forum for scholarship on the challenges facing Africa today and seeks to promote research, policy analyses and teaching that locate African people at the centre of the development agenda.  The journal covers multi-, inter- and transdisciplinary approaches in examining the African Renaissance and the repositioning of Africa within the world system. It is committed to producing and using knowledge to empower and strengthen Africa, its people and its Diaspora.

The Journal of Applied Psychology® emphasizes the publication of original investigations that contribute new knowledge and understanding to fields of applied psychology (other than clinical and applied experimental or human factors, which are more appropriate for other American Psychological Association journals). The journal primarily considers empirical and theoretical investigations that enhance understanding of cognitive, motivational, affective, and behavioral psychological phenomena.
