Journal Guide

The International Journal of the Commons (IJC) is an initiative of the International Association for the Study of the Commons (IASC).

As an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed open-access journal, the IJC is dedicated to furthering the understanding of institutions for use and management of resources that are (or could be) enjoyed collectively. These resources may be part of the natural world (e.g. forests, climate systems, or the oceans) or they may emerge from social realities created by humans (e.g. the internet or (scientific) knowledge, for example of the sort that is published in open-access journals).

Using resources collectively is often believed to be problematic. In practice however, many cases can be found of common pool resources that are used in a sustainable way. The editors of the IJC welcome contributions from all scientific disciplines, from practitioners and policy makers. We hope that our interdisciplinary approach will contribute to creating a balanced and nuanced view of how common pool institutions actually emerge, develop and perform.

Aims and Scope: Peace and Conflict: Journal of Peace Psychology welcomes scholarly manuscripts concerning peace, conflict, and their interaction at all levels of analysis, from interpersonal to community, regional, and international issues. The journal publishes empirical, theoretical, clinical, historical work, and book reviews on enduring and emerging issues that speak to the interests of researchers, practitioners, policy makers, and educators. The journal is international in scope and welcomes manuscripts from psychologists and scholars from kindred disciplines throughout the world. Peer Review Policy: All manuscripts undergo peer review that includes editorial screening and review by at least two anonymous referees. Poem is a world-class poetry magazine for the best poetry in, and translated into, English. Set to become the leading English-language poetry periodical, Poem advocates international writing without barriers, bringing today’s best poetry together on a world stage.

In our highly-connected world, in which another continent is only a keypad button away, there is a pressing need for an international, and internationalist, magazine to select and showcase world poetry, just as festivals and biennales do film and visual art. Poem takes excellence of translation for granted, and so advocates international writing without barriers.  Its content includes:

- the very newest work by the best poets, young as well as celebrated;
- “primary” prose by poets and world-leading critics – anything from literary gad-flying to novel extracts – encouraging the essay form, memoir, interview;
- occasional reviews;
- the occasional frontispiece/picture-essay of black-and-white photos or prints.

Political Studies is a leading international journal, which is committed to publishing high-quality research in all areas of politics and international relations. The journal publishes rigorous and original work of significance to the discipline broadly defined. The journal’s editorial approach is not constrained by any particular methodological or theoretical framework and the editors wish to encourage a pluralistic approach to the discipline and debate among the different approaches. The editors particularly welcome submissions which aim to be innovative in their approach, which cross traditional disciplinary boundaries, which reconsider the relationship between the domestic and international politics, or which offer fresh comparative perspectives.
