Journal of Hydro-environment Research

ISSN: 1570-6443eISSN: 1876-4444
The journal aims to provide an international platform for the dissemination of research and engineering applications related to water and hydraulic problems in the Asia-Pacific region. The journal provides a wide distribution at affordable subscription rate, as well as a rapid reviewing and publication time. The journal particularly encourages papers from young researchers.

Papers that require extensive language editing, qualify for editorial assistance with American Journal Experts, a Language Editing Company that Elsevier recommends. Authors submitting to this journal are entitled to a 10% discount.

The journal welcomes papers in all topics of hydraulics, in particular articles on sustainable water management, water-health issues, environmental hydraulics, eco-hydraulics, coastal engineering and integration of hydraulics with hydrology. Inter-disciplinary problems and linkage of theory to field application are particularly encouraged. Solutions of water problems in the form of prediction models, flow simulations, engineering systems, monitoring, management strategies covering basic scientific investigations and/or experimental studies of flow behaviour, hydrodynamics, fate and transport of aquatic constituents, and related biological and chemical processes are all within the scope of the Journal.

The unique features of the Asia-Pacific region in terms of population density, economic growth, landscape, tradition and history require special treatment of water problems in the region. Each research article in the journal will contain a section describing actual or potential applications to the Asia-Pacific region. This will provide an effective forum for technical exchanges, joint projects, and technology transfer.

In addition to research articles, the journal also publishes review papers, invited papers, book reviews and technical communications. Special issues containing selected papers presented at the biennial IAHR-APD Congresses, in particular the IAHR-APD award papers, will be a regular feature of the journal.

Research articles: should be original contributions reporting a complete research work leading to the understanding and/or application of hydraulic knowledge based on theoretical, experimental, computational and/or other approaches. Papers combining theory and experiments or combining basic and applied research are strongly welcome.

Review papers: cover all important issues in hydraulics and water problems, and their application.

Technical communications: report large-scale or innovative hydraulic or water-related projects/issues in the Asia-Pacific region. Communications discussing scientific and technical views on particular issues and problems are also encouraged.

Invited papers: provide a forum for experienced researchers to share their experience and expertise to the Asia-Pacific forum.

Journal of Modern Optics

ISSN: 0950-0340eISSN: 1362-3044

The journal (under its former title Optica Acta ) was founded in 1953 - some years before the advent of the laser - as an international journal of optics. Since then optical research has changed greatly; fresh areas of inquiry have been explored, different techniques have been employed and the range of application has greatly increased. The journal has continued to reflect these advances as part of its steadily widening scope.Journal of Modern Optics aims to publish original contributions to optical knowledge from educational institutions, government establishments and industrial R&D groups world-wide. The whole field of classical and quantum optics is covered. Papers may deal with the applications of fundamentals of modern optics, considering both experimental and theoretical aspects of contemporary research. In addition to regular papers, there are topical and tutorial reviews, and special issues on highlighted areas. General topics covered include:*Optical and photonic materials (inc. metamaterials)* Plasmonics and nanophotonics* Quantum optics (inc. quantum information)*Optical instrumentation and technology (inc. detectors, metrology, sensors, lasers)* Coherence, propagation, polarization and manipulation (classical optics)* Scattering and holography (diffractive optics)* Optical fibres and optical communications (inc. integrated optics, amplifiers)* Vision science and applications* Medical and biomedical optics* Nonlinear and ultrafast optics (inc. harmonic generation, multiphoton spectroscopy)* Imaging and Image processingTopical and Tutorial ReviewsIn order to best provide optical scientists with the highest quality information on current research topics, Journal of Modern Optics publishes two styles of review articles: topical reviews and tutorial reviews. Topical reviews are aimed primarily at the specialist already working on the topic covered or in a closely related area. Tutorial reviews emphasize the basics and are aimed at a structured introduction to a topic assuming little previous background knowledge. If you are interested in writing a review article for the journal, please send a one page synopsis explaining its topicality and likely content to j.marangos@imperial.ac.uk . It will be considered by the Editorial Board and then may lead to an invitation to submit a full review.Special IssuesPlease note that Journal of Modern Optics has a general policy of NOT publishing full conference proceedings. The Journal only publishes Special Issues - on occasion, these may often overlap heavily with work presented at a specific conference on the topic of the Special Issue but we do not publish conventional conference proceedings. Contributions to Journal of Modern Optics Special Issues must report original research and will be subjected to review by referees at the discretion of the Editorial Office.Listed in Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Report Science Edition.

Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs

ISSN: 1360-2004eISSN: 1469-9591

Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs is a peer reviewed research journal produced by the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs as part of its publication programme. Published since 1979, the Journal has firmly established itself as a highly respected and widely acclaimed academic and scholarly publication providing accurate, reliable and objective information.Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs provides a forum for frank but responsible discussion of issues relating to the life of Muslims in non-Muslim societies. The journal has become increasingly influential as the subject of Muslim minorities has acquired added significance. About 500 million Muslims, fully one third of the world Muslim population of 1.5 billion, live as minorities in 149 countries around the globe. Even as minorities they form significant communities within their countries of residence. What kind of life do they live? What are their social, political and economic problems? How do they perceive their strengths and weakness? What above all, is their future in Islam and in the communities of their residence? The journal explores these and similar questions from the Muslim and international point of view in a serious and responsible manner.Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs is the only scholarly journal studying Muslim communities in non-Muslim societies. It provides a wealth of information about these communities that cannot be found anywhere else in documented form. The journal has opened up a new area of specialisation in minority studies with original articles addressing the minority condition from the historical, demographic, social and economic perspective. Our research interests extend to include non-Muslim minorities living in Muslim societies, interfaith dialogue to promote understanding and the study of Muslim minority women, the minorities' minority. The Journal has indeed pioneered the way in examining theoretical and conceptual issues that define and explain the minority experience.Peer Review StatementAll research articles in the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs have been subjected to initial editorial screening and anonymous peer review.
