Co-sponsored by the Geographical Society of China and the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS, the Journal of Geographical Sciences aims to facilitate and strengthen academic exchange on geography research between China and other countries, and to offer a forum for discussion between geographers in China and abroad. This natural science journal publishes articles related to physical process and spatial patterns at the earth's surface, physio-geographical elements and their interaction, global change and its regional response, characters and management of natural resources, landscape ecology and environmental construction, remote sensing, geographic information system and their applications in geographical research.

The Journal of Marine Science and Technology provides a forum for the discussion of current issues in marine science and technology. The range of topics extends from research in naval architecture, marine engineering, and ocean engineering to marine-related research in the fields of environmental science and technology, oceanography, computational mechanics, and information technology. In addition to original, full-length refereed contributions presenting new research and developments in the field, the journal also publishes review papers authored by leading authorities.

The Journal of Muscle Research and Cell Motility has as its main aim the publication of original research which bears on either the excitation and contraction of muscle, the analysis of any one of the processes involved therein, or the processes underlying contractility and motility of animal and plant cells. Coverage includes concise theoretical essays which suggest practical approaches for their testing. The Journal of Psycholinguistic Research covers a broad range of approaches to the study of the communicative process, including: the social and anthropological bases of communication; development of speech and language; semantics (problems in linguistic meaning); and biological foundations. It also examines the psychopathology of language and cognition as well as the neuropsychology of language and cognition. The journal publishes carefully selected papers from the several disciplines engaged in psycholinguistic research, providing a single, recognized medium for communications among linguists, psychologists, biologists, sociologists, and others.

The Utrecht Law Review is an open-access peer-reviewed journal which aims to offer an international academic platform for cross-border legal research. In the first place, this concerns research in which the boundaries of the classic branches of the law (private law, criminal law, constitutional and administrative law, European and public international law) are crossed and connections are made between these areas of the law, amongst others from a comparative law perspective. In addition, the journal welcomes research in which classic law is brought face to face with not strictly legal disciplines such as philosophy, economics, political sciences and public administration science.
The journal was established in 2005 and is affiliated to the Utrecht University School of Law.

Journal of Management (JOM), peer-reviewed and published bi-monthly, is committed to publishing scholarly empirical and theoretical research articles that have a high impact on the management field as a whole. Classroom Discourse is an international, peer reviewed journal that provides a forum in which research from language and education disciplines can be combined.

The Journal focuses on research that considers discourse and interaction in settings where activity is deliberately organised to promote learning. While most papers focus on the discourse of classrooms, others report research in more informal, naturalistic settings in which, while learning is certainly still taking place, it is not occurring in the typical and ‘traditional’ space of a classroom. Examples might include online tutorials, peer-peer interactions of work-in-progress, and dialogues between ‘trainer and trainee’ in a workplace context.

In order to deal with the range of phenomena identified in the Journal’s wide interpretations of both ‘classroom’ and ‘discourse’, contributions are invited from across the range of theoretical perspectives and research methods. Thus, articles are welcomed which use such perspectives as ethnomethodology, conversation analysis, discursive psychology, multimodal analysis, systemic functional linguistics, genre theory, studies on ‘voice’, identity studies, critical discourse analysis (CDA), sociocultural theory, cultural-historical activity theory,  communities of practice, linguistic ethnography and linguistic anthropology, and poststructuralist discourse analysis.

Applied Linguistics publishes research into language with relevance to real-world problems.The journal is keen to help make connections between fields, theories, research methods, and scholarly discourses, and welcomes contributions which critically reflect on current practices in applied linguistic research. It promotes scholarly and scientific discussion of issues that unite or divide scholars in applied linguistics. It is less interested in the ad hoc solution of particular problems and more interested in the handling of problems in a principled way by reference to theoretical studies.Applied linguistics is viewed not only as the relation between theory and practice, but also as the study of language and language-related problems in specific situations in which people use and learn languages.
