ASM Case Reports, ASM's newest fully open-access journal, will serve as a dedicated platform for the highest quality case reports in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases and provide a home for research on emerging diseases. The journal will offer a glimpse into new diseases, intricate disease progressions, the nuanced actions and effects of pharmaceuticals and the uncharted territories of outbreaks. ASM Case Reports is launching in mid-2024 with the first papers publishing by early 2025.

Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy® features interdisciplinary studies that build our understanding of the underlying mechanisms and therapeutic applications of antimicrobial and antiparasitic agents and chemotherapy. The journal also publishes studies involving animal models, pharmacological characterization, and clinical trials.

Applied and Environmental Microbiology® publishes study results that make significant contributions to applied microbial research, basic microbial ecology research, and genetic and molecular investigations of microbial topics of practical value. The journal sheds new light on key microbiological principles, fundamental microbial processes, and basic questions in applied and environmental microbiology.

Clinical Microbiology Reviews® analyzes the latest developments in clinical microbiology and immunology. Key topics include pathogenic mechanisms, individual and groups of microbial pathogens, clinical and laboratory aspects of newly recognized and reemerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial agents and their applications, and diagnostic laboratory technologies.

EcoSal Plus is the authoritative online review journal that publishes an ever-growing body of expert reviews covering virtually all aspects of E. coli, Salmonella, and other members of the Enterobacterales and their use as model microbes for biological explorations. This journal is intended primarily for the research community as a comprehensive and continuously updated archive of the entire corpus of knowledge about the enteric bacterial cell. The journal features a unique content structure, with articles grouped both under the classic "Volume, Issue" journal format as well as into curated subject domains with only the most up-to-date articles available in each subject; serving as a go-to constantly evolving reference. Articles contain links to E. coli genes on the EcoCyc database site.

Infection and Immunity® publishes research related to infections caused by pathogenic bacteria, fungi, and parasites; molecular mechanisms of pathogenicity; interactions of virulence factors with host cells; innate and adaptive immunity to infection; development of vaccines against nonviral pathogens; and genomes of pathogenic bacteria. IAI also welcomes studies on the interaction of microbial communities with their host.

Journal of Bacteriology® publishes research articles that probe fundamental processes in bacteria, archaea, and their viruses and the molecular mechanisms by which they interact with each other and with their hosts and their environments.

Journal of Clinical Microbiology® publishes the most current research related to the laboratory diagnosis of human and animal infections and the role of the laboratory in epidemiology and the management of infectious diseases.

As ASM’s first open-access education journal, the Journal of Microbiology & Biology Education (JMBE) offers original, previously unpublished, peer-reviewed articles that foster scholarly teaching and provide readily adoptable resources in biology education at the undergraduate, graduate, professional (e.g., medical school), K-12 outreach, and informal education level. JMBE is edited by informed science educators who are active in the pursuit of scholarly teaching and biology education reform.

Journal of Virology® publishes primary-research, mini-reviews, and other article formats that interrogate fundamental processes and structure in viruses, the mechanisms by which they interact and evolve with their host and environment, and novel methodologies, therapeutic and diagnostic strategies.

Microbiology Resource Announcements® (MRA) is an online-only, fully open-access journal that publishes articles announcing the availability of any microbiological resource deposited in a repository available to the community. In addition to genome sequences of prokaryotic and eukaryotic microbes and viruses in public databases, as published in Genome Announcements, MRA will consider metagenomics sequences, amplicon sequence collections, metabolomics data, proteome data, culture collections, mutant libraries, plasmids and other genetic constructs, publicly available databases and software, and protocols and workflows. Manuscripts submitted to MRA will be peer reviewed for appropriate content and handled by a board of Senior Editors who will accept manuscripts at their discretion.

Microbiology Spectrum® (Spectrum) is an online-only, fully open-access journal that publishes research from all domains of basic, applied, and clinical microbial sciences. Rather than making subjective evaluations of potential impact, Microbiology Spectrum publishes research studies that are of high technical quality and are useful to the community. All decisions are made by an international and diverse editorial board that fully represents the microbiology research community. The journal provides authors with fair, rapid, and rigorous peer review. The journal offers rapid publication and wide dissemination of excellent research at no cost to readers.

Microbiology and Molecular Biology Reviews® explores the significance and the interrelationships of the latest discoveries that build our understanding of bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi, and other higher eukaryotes.
