Psychiatric Services, established in 1950, is published monthly by the American Psychiatric Association for mental health professionals and others concerned with treatment and services for persons with mental illnesses and mental disabilities, in keeping with APA's objectives to improve care and treatment, to promote research and professional education in psychiatric and related fields, and to advance the standards of all psychiatric services and facilities.

The American Journal of Psychiatry is committed to keeping the field of psychiatry vibrant and relevant by publishing the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness. The findings presented in this journal explore the full spectrum of issues related to mental health diagnoses and treatment. Original articles include new developments in diagnosis, treatment, neuroscience, and patient populations.

As the official Journal of the American Neuropsychiatric Association, the society of psychiatrists working at the interface between neuroscience and behavioral disorders, The Journal of Neuropsychiatry is dedicated to developing effective diagnosis and treatment for patients with neuropsychiatric disorders. The Journal of Neuropsychiatry publishes peer-reviewed articles addressing critical subjects such as Alzheimer's disease, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, and seizure disorders, and is devoted to reporting discoveries in clinical neuroscience that are relevant to understanding the brain-based disorders of patients.
