Founded in 1885, it publishes ground-breaking articles on archaeology and thoughtful book and museum exhibition reviews. The AJA reaches more than 50 countries and almost 1,000 universities, learned societies, departments of antiquities, and museums.The Journal is published quarterly, in January, April, July, and October, in print and in electronic (PDF) format on JSTOR, and is available through membership in the Archaeological Institute of America or by subscription.
