The Journal publishes papers dealing with new ideas and developments in the science and technology of polymers with functional groups that provide specific chemical reactivity or physico-chemical behaviour. The scope covers organic and inorganic functional polymers, acting as reagents, catalysts, carriers of protecting groups, templates, ion-exchangers, selective sorbents, chelating agents, supports for enzymes and cells, and the like. It also includes reactive cross-linkable prepolymers, degradable or bioactive polymers, polymer resists, conducting polymers, and film-forming polymers.Contributions have to present thorough molecular and material characterisation data, and may deal with the synthesis of the above polymers or with their applications in organic synthesis, catalysis, water or effluent treatment, separations, recovery, lithography, microelectronics, information storage, energy conversion, diagnostics, drug delivery, coating and encapsulation, and adhesion.The Journal addresses two main audiences: those engaged in the synthesis of new materials and the development of novel techniques, and those concerned with technology and practical applications in the laboratory or plant. The Journal encourages, and serves as a forum for, the dialogue between these two groups.Papers on a broad spectrum of topics are encouraged. Emphasis is on work at the frontiers of science or technology and furthering the interaction between researcher and practical engineer, rather than on details of theory or application. Full-length papers and review articles will be considered. However, authors intending to write a review should contact an Editor first. Uninvited reviews will not be considered. All material submitted must be original, that is it may not have been submitted elsewhere for publication.Lack of originality, insufficient molecular characterisation, poor comparison with the current state of literature and with the authors' own production are, individually, sufficient reasons for rejection.

It publishes selected original research papers in all areas of economics, both theoretical and applied, and related fields.Papers submitted are processed by one of the Associate Editors, who cover an extremely broad range of research areas in Economics in order to maintain the general-purpose nature of the journal whilst enforcing high-quality standards.Research in Economics welcomes survey articles and short notes. The journal also has a tradition of publishing special issues. Some recent special issues have been: Interactive Epistemology in Dynamic Games (1999); Policies to Foster Human Capital (2000); International Comparison of Household Savings Behaviour: a Study of Life-cycle Savings in Seven Countries (2001), and Logic and the Foundations of the Theory of Games and Decisions (2003).All these features make Research in Economics appealing to well-established economists as well as to junior economists approaching the publication process in the international arena.
Research in International Business and Finance (RIBAF) aims to publish empirical and applied research on issues relating to International Business and International Finance. The editors encourage the submission of high quality, insightful, well-written papers that explore current and new issues in International Business, International Finance, and the common grounds between these discipline areas.Papers that use new and or novel empirical methodologies to examine topical issues using extensive international data sets are particularly welcome.Country-level replication studies of key themes in International Business, International Finance, and in Finance are also welcome. In order to qualify as a replication study, the submitted paper must clearly state what is being replicated, why it is important to replicate it, why the particular replication is of interest to international business and finance scholars, and how the replication analysis contributes to the process of validating, negating, clarifying, or refining existing theory and/or evidence.For all submissions, high quality, well-written papers are essential. In order to respect the time constraints of RIBAF's committed reviewers, submissions that do not meet these high standards will be returned to the authors without seeking peer review.The scope of topics that are most interesting to RIBAF readers include the following:International financial integration and regulation;Culture in international business and finance;Economic geography in international business and finance;Ethics in international business and finance;Behavioral aspects in finance;International business and financial history;Critical perspectives on international business and finance;Methodology in international business and finance;International corporate governance, standards, and organisations;
1887-The beginnings of the journalResearch in Microbiology is the direct descendant of the original Pasteur periodical entitled Annales de l'Institut Pasteur, created in 1887 by Emile Duclaux under the patronage of Louis Pasteur. The Editorial Committee included Chamberland, Grancher, Nocard, Roux and Straus, and the first issue began with Louis Pasteur's "Lettre sur la Rage" which clearly defines the spirit of the journal:"You have informed me, my dear Duclaux, that you intend to start a monthly collection of articles entitled "Annales de l'Institut Pasteur". You will be rendering a service that will be appreciated by the ever increasing number of young scientists who are attracted to microbiological studies. In your Annales, our laboratory research will of course occupy a central position, but the work from outside groups that you intend to publish will be a source of competitive stimulation for all of us."That first volume included 53 articles as well as critical reviews and book reviews. From that time on, the Annales appeared regularly every month, without interruption, even during the two world wars. Although the journal has undergone many changes over the past 100 years (in the title, the format, the language) reflecting the evolution in scientific publishing, it has consistently maintained the Pasteur tradition by publishing original reports on all aspects of microbiology.Originally founded as the " Annales de l'Institut Pasteur ", Research in Microbiology has been a leading source of up-to-date information in the field of microbiology for more than a century. It publishes papers based on original research in fundamental and applied biology of bacteria, archaea and lower eukaryotes. It covers all aspects of the microbial taxonomy, phylogeny, ecology, physiology and metabolism, molecular genetics and genomics, as well as the interactions between microbes and interactions of microbes with their environment. Research in Microbiology currently publishes 10 issues a year, including an annual Forum issue, original articles, reviews, and letters to the Editor.Indexed in Medline, Excerpta Medica / EMbase, Science Citation Index, Current Contents (Life Sciences)On-line services:For on-line submission:http://pasteur.fontismedia.com/res/ For full-text articles, abstracts, contents, references: http://www.sciencedirect.com For the journal homepage at Elsevier:http://www.elsevier.com/locate/resmic
Research in Organizational Behavior publishes commissioned papers only, spanning several levels of analysis, and ranging from studies of individuals to groups to organizations and their environments. The topics encompassed are likewise diverse, covering issues from individual emotion and cognition to social movements and networks. Cutting across this diversity, however, is a rather consistent quality of presentation. Being both thorough and thoughtful, Research in Organizational Behavior's commissioned pieces provide substantial contributions to research on organizations. Many have received rewards for their level of scholarship and many have become classics in the field of organizational research.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Revista Española de Nutrición Comunitaria, included in the most prestigious international indices, such as Science Citation Index, is the official Journal of the Spanish Society of Community Nutrition and the Latin-American Community Nutrition Group (Sociedad Española de Nutrición Comunitaria y del Grupo Latinoamericano de Nutrición Comunitaria). The Journal publishes Originals, Short Communications, Review Articles and Letters to the Editor on aspects related to community nutrition. It therefore includes nutritional epidemiology, policies or education in all its fields and aspects. There are also regular sections: Epidemiology for Nutritionists, Clinical and Community and International News; this latter includes contributions not in the Spanish language, preferably English, which the Editor may consider suitable, as well as news of Conferences or international publications.

The RIES seeks to act as a space for compiling research on higher-education systems in Latin America and a meeting place for the analysis, research and findings of the different Latin American institutions in the higher-education system.
Although there are several recognized journals of educational research -and indeed some specializing in higher education-the RIES seeks to fill an important void in Latin America, in that it will be the first regional electronic journal on the subject. Its digital format places it at the vanguard of journals specializing in this topic, since it provides practically universal access.
The RIES is open to all proposals that are the fruit of documentary or empirical research and whose aim is to study some aspect of higher-education systems, projects and institutions based on any approach, school of thought, discipline or multidiscipline. It will thus publish papers on any of the issues from which this system can be examined in contemporary debate: international and national policies; comparative studies; coverage; relevance; professional training; linkage; financing; assessment, accreditation and quality; governance and governability; planning and management, etc.
It has been conceived following the frameworks that define a scientific-academic journal, in line with the standards contained in different Latin American indexes and databases, and seeks to feature the work of the region's most prestigious academicians along with the findings of those who are just beginning to stand out in this field of study. It will be made up of six sections: Territories, Genealogies, Outlines, Resonances, Visions, and Archives.
The collaborations published will always follow strict scientific and academic standards and will be reviewed by widely respected researchers, since it is the RIES' aim to become an obligatory reference for education authorities, decision makers, researchers and academicians, and for graduate and postgraduate students.
In addition to the director, the RIES has two collegiate bodies that will oversee the journal's academic development and operation: the Editorial Council and the Publishing Committee.
