Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior keeps professionals abreast of the latest research, theories, and intervention approaches for suicide and life-threatening behaviors. The journal publishes scientific research on suicidal and other life-threatening behaviors, including research from biological, psychological, and sociological approaches. Issues examine such topics as risk factors for suicide in particular populations, assessment and risk-management approaches, advances in evidence-based prevention, methodological and ethical issues in intervention research, cross-cultural and international findings, and mental health needs of those bereaved by suicide.

Surface and Interface Analysis is devoted to the publication of papers dealing with the development and application of techniques for the characterization of surfaces, interfaces and thin films. Papers dealing with standardization and quantification are particularly welcome, and also those which deal with the application of these techniques to industrial problems. Papers dealing with the purely theoretical aspects of the technique will also be considered. Review articles will be published; prior consultation with one of the Editors is advised in these cases. Papers must clearly be of scientific value in the field and will be submitted to two independent referees. Contributions must be in English and must not have been published elsewhere, and authors must agree not to communicate the same material for publication to any other journal. Authors are invited to submit their papers for publication to John Watts (UK only), Jose Sanz (Rest of Europe), John T. Grant (all non-European countries, except Japan) or R. Shimizu (Japan only).

Systems Engineering , The Journal of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), is a primary source of multidisciplinary information for the systems engineering and management of products and services, and processes of all types. Systems engineering activities involve the technologies, processes, and systems management approaches needed for: definition of systems, including identification of user requirements and technological specifications; development of systems, including conceptual architectures, tradeoff of design concepts, configuration management during system development, integration of new systems with legacy systems, and integrated product and process development; and deployment of systems, including operational test and evaluation, maintenance over an extended lifecycle, and reengineering. Modern systems, including both products and services, are often very knowledge intensive, and are found in both the public and private sectors. The journal emphasizes strategic and program management of these, and the information and knowledge base for knowledge principles, knowledge practices, and knowledge perspectives for the engineering of systems. Definitive case studies involving systems engineering practice are especially welcome.

Systems Research and Behavioral Science publishes original articles on new theories, experimental research, and applications relating to all levels of living and non-living systems. Its scope is comprehensive, dealing with systems approaches to: the redesign of organisational and societal structures; the management of administrative and business processes; problems of change management; the implementation of procedures to increase the quality of work and life; the resolution of clashes of norms and values; social cognitive processes; modelling; the introduction of new scientific results, etc. The editors especially want manuscripts of a theoretical or empirical nature which have broad interdisciplinary implications not found in a journal devoted to a single discipline.

The American Journal of Economics and Sociology (AJES) was founded in 1941, with support from the Robert Schalkenbach Foundation, to provide a forum for continuing discussion of issues raised and emphasized by the American political economist, social philosopher, and activist, Henry George (1839-1897). The peer-reviewed AJES welcomes any submission that critically investigates the social provisioning process utilizing different theoretical and methodological approaches; that engages in critical analysis and empirical studies of current social-economic micro and macro policies affecting the social provisioning process; and that evaluates past and current intellectual arguments and disciplinary developments primarily in economics and sociology (but also in the related disciplines of anthropology, political science, and law) which had or currently have an impact on understanding and investigating the social provisioning process. Articles that offer an interdisciplinary perspective are encouraged. For policy-oriented articles, it is appropriate and encouraged to discuss the public policy implications (if any) of the findings.The AJES also has a 'Comment and Analysis' feature that allows scholars to 'sound off' about events so long as the ideas are presented in a logical and coherent framework, references are provided, and the whole project amounts to an interesting essay in persuasion presented in a mature professional way.Each year AJES issues a special supplementary issue to all subscribers containing an important and interesting monograph in an ongoing series entitled Studies in Social Reform and Economic Justice. Globalization, and the economic circumstances facing groups of countries world-wide, meanwhile present a great challenge for health planning and management. The aim of this quarterly journal is to offer a forum for publications which direct attention to major issues in health policy, planning and management. The intention is to maintain a balance between theory and practice, from a variety of disciplines, fields and perspectives. The Journal is explicitly international and multidisciplinary in scope and appeal: articles about policy, planning and management in countries at various stages of political, social, cultural and economic development are welcomed, as are those directed at the different levels (national, regional, local) of the health sector. The Journal of Comparative Neurology is an interdisciplinary journal with systems neuroscience as its primary purview. Our focus is on neuronal communication within systems of neurons, and their relationship to function, development, plasticity, degeneration, and repair. The field is broadly defined and includes work that uses molecular, anatomical, physiological, pharmacological, and behavioral methods to investigate neuronal systems, but does not include papers that primarily address clinical aspects of neurology, neuropathology, psychiatry, or psychology. Work on all species from invertebrates to humans is welcome, but the emphasis should be on the way that species adaptations enlighten us about the function or organization of nervous systems, rather than on their evolution per se. The Journal of Comparative Neurology takes special care to provide the highest quality of image reproduction, and offers sufficient page space to document and describe the work completely. Only full-length investigative reports are desired; we do not accept short communications or papers that are focused on new methods.
