Aquatic Sciences - Research Across Boundaries publishes original research, overviews, and reviews dealing with aquatic systems (wetlands, freshwater and marine systems) and their boundaries, including the impact of human activities on these systems. The coverage ranges from molecular-level mechanistic studies to investigations at the whole ecosystem scale, including fish ecology. Aquatic Sciences publishes articles presenting research across disciplinary and environmental boundaries, i.e. studies examining interactions among geological, microbial, biological, chemical, physical, hydrological, and societal processes, as well as studies assessing land-water, air-water, benthic-pelagic, river-ocean, lentic-lotic, and groundwater-surface water interactions. Astronomy Letters (Pis’ma v Astronomicheskii Zhurnal) traditionally publishes the results of original research in all branches of modern astronomy and astrophysics including high energy astrophysics, cosmology, space astronomy, theoretical astrophysics, radioastronomy, extra galactic astronomy, stellar astronomy, and investigation of the Solar system.

Astronomy Reports (Astronomicheskii Zhurnal), founded in 1924, is the most prominent astronomy journal in the former Soviet Union. It is also widely known and cited abroad. The journal publishes original papers on astronomical topics, including theoretical and observational astrophysics, physics of the Sun, planetary astrophysics, radioastronomy, stellar astronomy, celestial mechanics, and astronomy methods and instrumentation. It also publishes chronicles, proceedings of international conferences, and book reviews.

Astrophysical Bulletin presents original and review papers in various fields of modern astrophysics. Topics covered include problems of astrophysical observations of stars and galaxies, cosmology, astrophysical instrumentation. Biological Procedures Online is an open access, peer-reviewed journal which publishes articles that improve access to techniques and methods in the medical and biological sciences. Articles feature step-by-step protocols that allow researchers to implement methods in 'cookbook' fashion at the bench top. Biological Procedures Online transferred to BioMed Central in 2011.

Biology Bulletin (Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk – Seriya Biologicheskaya) is an interdisciplinary journal of general biology. It focuses on fundamental studies in the fields of cell biology, biochemistry, zoology, botany, physiology, and ecology. This journal publishes current materials of experimental studies and surveys on current problems in general biology. It also publishes information on scientific conferences and new books in the fields of general biology. The Editorial Board welcomes contributions from foreign authors.
