Journal of Earthquake and Tsunami provides a common forum for scientists and engineers working in the areas of earthquakes and tsunamis to communicate and interact with one another and thereby enhance the opportunities for such cross-fertilization of ideas. The Journal publishes original papers pertaining to state-of-the-art research and development in Geological and Seismological Setting; Ground Motion, Site and Building Response; Tsunami Generation, Propagation, Damage and Mitigation, as well as Education and Risk Management following an earthquake or a tsunami.

Journal of Geophysical Research (JGR) publishes original scientific research on the physical, chemical, and biological processes that contribute to the understanding of the Earth, Sun, and solar system and all of their environments and components. JGR is currently organized into seven disciplinary sections (Atmospheres, Biogeosciences, Earth Surface, Oceans, Planets, Solid Earth, Space Physics). Sections may be added or combined in response to changes in the science.

The Journal of Marine Science and Technology provides a forum for the discussion of current issues in marine science and technology. The range of topics extends from research in naval architecture, marine engineering, and ocean engineering to marine-related research in the fields of environmental science and technology, oceanography, computational mechanics, and information technology. In addition to original, full-length refereed contributions presenting new research and developments in the field, the journal also publishes review papers authored by leading authorities.

The Journal of Marine Systems provides a medium for interdisciplinary exchange between physical, chemical and biological oceanographers and marine geologists. The Journal of Oceanography is the official journal of the Oceanographic Society of Japan and open to all oceanographers in the world. The main aim of the journal is to promote understandings of ocean systems from various aspects including physical, chemical, biological, geological oceanography as well as paleoceanography, etc. The journal welcomes research focusing on the western North Pacific and Asian coastal waters, but the study region is not limited to the Asian Pacific. The journal publishes original articles, short contributions, reviews, and correspondence in oceanography and related fields free of page charge. Papers describing important new techniques, methods, and apparati will also be considered. Descriptive work will, however, be accepted if they contain general principles. Founded in 1982, the Chinese Journal of Oceanology and Limnology (CJOL) explores ocean and lake related sciences. CJOL publishes the most up-to-date original research papers, mainly from China, on all aspects of oceanology (or oceanography in the western sense) and limnology related fields. Academic topics include biology, physics, geology, chemistry, hydrology, meteorology, and geography. Applications-sector coverage includes aquaculture, marine resource exploration, remote-sensing, environmental protection, marine engineering, pharmacology, and instrumentation. Most published papers are from projects at provincial and ministerial levels, representing the most advanced research in China. This is the only official learned-society journal of the Chinese Society for Oceanology and Limnology, and it is affiliated with the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qingdao, China.

Research related to the physics of the ocean and to processes operating at its boundaries. Observational, theoretical, and modeling studies are all welcome, especially those that focus on elucidating specific physical processes. Papers that investigate interactions with other components of the earth system (e.g., ocean-atmosphere, physical-biological and physical-chemical interactions) as well as studies of other fluid systems (e.g., lakes and laboratory tanks) are also invited, as long as their focus is on understanding the ocean or the ocean's role in the earth system.

About the JournalJournal of Plankton Research publishes innovative papers that significantly advance the field of plankton research, and in particular, our understanding of plankton dynamics. The main topics covered are: *plankton ecology and behaviour, including model and theoretical studies *plankton physiology, including experimental results *molecular biology, genetics and taxonomy of planktonic organisms *biological properties and content of natural waters as they impinge directly on plankton physiology and ecology *development and testing of new methods for plankton research All kinds of marine, brackish and freshwater plankton are considered: viruses, bacteria, fungi, phytoplankton, and zooplankton, including meroplankton and ichthyoplankton.Hypothesis-driven work is particularly welcomed; purely descriptive papers will generally not be considered. Investigations carried out using interdisciplinary methods are particularly encouraged.JPR seeks to publish the highest quality scientific papers, with rapid publication, and with high standards of technical presentation.

The Journal of Sea Research is an international and multidisciplinary periodical on marine research, with an emphasis on the functioning of marine ecosystems in coastal and shelf seas, including intertidal, estuarine and brackish environments.
