Metabolic Brain Disease is directed to neuroscientists, psychiatrists, neurologists, pathologists, and others involved in the research and treatment of a broad range of metabolic brain disorders. Topics covered include stroke, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, myelin disorders, toxic encephalopathies, genetic diseases affecting the brain, alcohol and brain metabolism, neuroendocrinopathies, viral and nonviral encephalitides, nutritional disorders affecting the brain, diseases affecting neurotransmitters, Alzheimer's disease, and aging.Metabolic Brain Disease will consider Full Research Papers, Short Communications, Review Articles and Editorials. The journal is committed to high standards
Metabolic Engineering Communications is devoted to publishing original research in the areas of metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, computational biology and systems biology for problems related to metabolism and the engineering of metabolism for the production of fuels, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. The journal will carry articles on the design, construction, and analysis of biological systems ranging from pathway components to biological complexes and genomes (including genomic, analytical and bioinformatics methods) in suitable host cells to allow them to produce novel compounds of industrial and medical interest. Demonstrations of regulatory designs and synthetic circuits that alter the performance of biochemical pathways and cellular processes will also be presented. Metabolic Engineering Communications complements the full journal through the publication of articles that are shorter, or describe key elements of larger metabolic engineering efforts, than those published in the full journal while similarly impacting the development of the field.
Types of papers: Short Papers, Priority Communications, and Short Opinion Pieces
Metabolic Syndrome and Related Disorders is the only peer-reviewed journal to focus solely on the pathophysiology, recognition, and treatment of metabolic syndrome. The Journal enables you to keep pace with new research, and better understand the key clinical implications and applications.Coverage includes: • Insulin resistance • Central obesity • Glucose intolerance • Dyslipidemia with elevated triglycerides • Low HDL-cholesterol • Microalbuminuria • Predominance of small dense LDL-cholesterol particles • Hypertension • Endothelial dysfunction • Oxidative stress • InflammationIn this era of explosive growth of diabetes and obesity the in-depth study of metabolic syndrome is an urgent priority. A suspected precursor to a wide range of diseases, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer, polycystic ovary syndrome, gout, and asthma, metabolic syndrome is comprehensively covered in this Journal to meet the imperative for research, data, and commentary.
Metabolism promotes excellence in research by publishing high-quality original research papers, fast-tracking cutting-edge papers, research brief reports, mini-reviews, and other special articles related to all aspects of human metabolism. Work considered for publication in Metabolism includes studies in humans, animal and cellular models. Work with strong translational potential is prioritized. Metabolism will consider papers for publication in any aspect of translational and clinical metabolic research, including (but not limited to):Energy Expenditure and ObesityMetabolic Syndrome and DiabetesNutrition, Exercise, and the EnvironmentGenetics, Proteomics, and MetabolomicsCarbohydrate, Lipid, and Protein MetabolismEndocrinology and HypertensionMineral and Bone MetabolismCardiovascular Diseases and MalignanciesBenefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Metabolites (ISSN 2218-1989) is an international, peer-reviewed open access journal of metabolism and metabolomics. Metabolites publishes original research articles and review articles in molecular aspects of metabolism relevant to the fields of metabolomics, metabolic biochemistry, computational and systems biology, biotechnology and medicine, with a particular focus on the biological roles of metabolites and small molecule biomarkers.
Metabolomics publishes a substantial share of the most significant current research in the areas of various-technology platform development for metabolomics, metabolite target analysis, metabolic profiling and metabolic fingerprinting; progress in data preparation, storage, curation and analyses; comparative integrated studies with transcriptomics and proteomics including within a systems biology context; and the application of metabolomics as it relates to man, animals and plants.Metabolomics includes wide-ranging and rigorously peer-reviewed research papers and reviews ; a comment section for responses from readers on articles published; conference announcements and reports; funding initiatives and other metabolomics topics; occasional special issues focusing on subjects of particular interest. Metabolomics publishes six issues a year. Metabolomics is the official journal of the Metabolomics Society.
The Methodist DeBakey Cardiovascular Journal (MDCVJ) supports the educational mission of Houston Methodist DeBakey CV Education by empowering the next generation of heart and vascular specialists to gain knowledge and stay informed on best practices, clinical treatments, and promising research in cardiovascular medicine. Each peer-reviewed issue publishes thematic curated reviews describing the current state of relevant and timely cardiovascular topics. Issues also includes peer-reviewed case reports, multimodality images, Interactive CME Case quizzes, and humanities articles.
Geared towards cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, general practitioners, and CV residents and fellows, MDCVJ explores a robust range of timely issues—from updates in cardiology and cardiovascular surgery subspecialties, such as cardiovascular imaging, aortic disease, cardiac critical care, and percutaneous valve disease, to public health and cultural concerns such as the cardiovascular impact of COVID-19, quality and patient safety, and digital health. The journal is published quarterly in both online and print formats, with a limited free print distribution to subscribers. Case reports are published on a continuous basis in an online issue.
Methods of Information in Medicine publishes international, peer-reviewed, original research articles, reviews, editorials, and letters to the editor. Founded in 1962, it is the oldest and longest running journal in its field. The focus of the journal is on methods in health informatics, including public health and consumer informatics. We welcome submissions describing novel scientific methods for structuring, integrating, analysing, storing and visualising information as well as methods for system design, implementation and evaluation.

Microbes and Infection publishes 12 peer-reviewed issues per year in all fields of infection and immunity, covering the different levels of host-microbe interactions, and in particular:the molecular biology and cell biology of the crosstalk between hosts (human and experimental animals) and microbes (viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungi), including molecular virulence and evasion mechanisms.the immune response to infection, including pathogenesis and host susceptibility.emerging human infectious diseases.molecular epidemiology/genetics of host pathogen interactions.vaccine development, including novel strategies and adjuvants.Clinical studies, accounts of clinical trials and biomarker studies in infectious diseases are within the scope of the journal.Microbes and Infection publishes articles on human pathogens or pathogens of model systems. However, articles on other microbes can be published if they contribute to our understanding of basic mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions. Purely descriptive and preliminary studies are discouraged.Reviews on recent progress in the field are commissioned by editors.Special issues focus on the present knowledge of a virulent microbe and the disease it causes, the immune response in infectious disease, or on critical issues relevant to the scope of the journal. The journal is just entering its 16th year of publication, and Essential Science IndicatorsSM (ESI) states that "Microbes and Infection has had a significant impact in the field of Immunology."
