Journal of Magnesium and Alloys provides an international medium for the publication of theoretical and experimental studies into magnesium sciences and engineering across the world. Appropriate submissions to Journal of Magnesium and Alloys should include researches that provide scientific and/or engineering factors which affect the metallurgy, processing, microstructure, properties and applications of magnesium and alloys and reports that contribute to the body of knowledge by documenting the thinking, philosophy and strategies of magnesium sciences and engineering. Journal of Magnesium and Alloys will cover all aspects of magnesium and alloys and their products' manufacturing, including raw materials, alloy casting, extrusion and deformation, corrosion and surface treatment, joining and machining, simulation and modeling, microstructure evolution and mechanical properties, new alloys development, magnesium based composites, bio-materials and energy materials, applications and recycling.

Beginning with a vision of a "materials-blind" society in the late 1960s, a few forward-looking individuals, with an eye toward advancing the cause of interdisciplinary research, made that vision a reality--the Materials Research Society, officially founded in 1973. The Society's core principles were interdisciplinarity, focused symposia, and greater interaction among researchers. These principles make MRS different from single-discipline professional societies because they encourage communication and technical information exchange across the various fields of science affecting materials.

The aim of the Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology is to provide an international forum for the publication and dissemination of original work that contributes to the understanding of the main and related disciplines of mechanical engineering, either empirical or theoretical. The Journal covers the whole spectrum of mechanical engineering, which includes, but is not limited to, Materials and Design Engineering, Production Engineering and Fusion Technology, Dynamics, Vibration and Control, Thermal Engineering and Fluids Engineering.    Manuscripts may fall into several categories including full articles, solicited reviews or commentary, and unsolicited reviews or commentary related to the core of mechanical engineering. RSC Applied Interfaces is a dedicated, interdisciplinary reference journal for cutting-edge research on the applications of surfaces and interfaces. In addition to the applied focus, work considered for publication in RSC Applied Interfaces is expected to be highly original and of top quality. The main aim of the Russian Journal of Non-Ferrous Metals is to achieve a new knowledge in such topics as extraction metallurgy, hydro- and piro- metallurgy, casting, plastic deformation, metallography and heat treatment, powder metallurgy and composites, self-propagating high-temperature synthesis, surface engineering and advanced protected coatings, environments and energy capacity in non-ferrous metallurgy. Coverage includes both theoretical and applied articles. All major nonferrous metals and alloys are treated, and the emphasis throughout is on the development and improvement of cost effective, environmentally safe methods of nonferrous metals production. The journal publishes articles originating from universities, research institutions, Russian Academy of Sciences institutes and industrial research laboratories.

Engineering Failure Analysis publishes research papers describing the analysis of engineering failures and related studies.Papers relating to the structure, properties and behaviour of engineering materials are encouraged, particularly those which also involve the detailed application of materials parameters to problems in engineering structures, components and design. In addition to the area of materials engineering, the interacting fields of mechanical, manufacturing, aeronautical, civil, chemical, corrosion and design engineering are considered relevant. Activity should be directed at analysing engineering failures and carrying out research to help reduce the incidences of failures and to extend the operating horizons of engineering materials.

Experimental Mechanics, the official journal of the Society for Experimental Mechanics, publishes papers in all areas of the field, including its theoretical and computational analysis. The journal addresses research in design and implementation of novel or enhanced experiments to characterize materials, structures, and systems. Readers will also find articles extending the frontiers of experimental mechanics at both large and small scales. This journal’s coverage extends from research in solid and fluid mechanics to fields at the intersection of disciplines such as physics, chemistry, and biology. The development of new devices and technologies for metrology applications in a wide range of industrial sectors is also covered. In addition to primary research articles, Experimental Mechanics publishes review articles, brief technical notes, and applications articles that discuss important emerging technologies.

Experiments in Fluids examines the advancement, extension, and improvement of new techniques of flow measurement. The journal also publishes contributions that employ existing experimental techniques to gain an understanding of the underlying flow physics in the areas of turbulence, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, convective heat transfer, combustion, turbomachinery, multi-phase flows, and chemical, biological and geological flows. Continuum Mechanics and Thermodynamics is an interdisciplinary journal exploring new ideas in continuum and quasi-continuum modeling of systems with a large number of degrees of freedom and sufficient complexity to require thermodynamic closure. Major emphasis is placed on papers seeking to bridge the gap between discrete and continuum approaches as well as micro and macro scales, by means of homogenization, statistical averaging, and other mathematical tools aimed at the judicial elimination of small time and length scales. In particular, the journal focuses on simultaneous descriptions of complex systems at several disparate scales. Papers presenting and explaining new experimental findings are highly encouraged. Lastly, the journal publishes numerical studies that build our understanding of the physical nature of phenomena. High Temperatures - High Pressures publishes original research papers related to thermophysical properties of matter, including thermal and transport properties. Papers dealing with the gaseous, liquid or solid phase are equally welcome. Special emphasis is put on matter under extreme conditions such as high temperatures and high pressures, on properties of micro- or nano-structured materials, and on non-linear properties related to high rates of energy transport. Both theoretical and experimental work will be considered for publication. Reports on measurements of thermophysical property data as well as on the use of these data for applications form an integral part of the journal’s scope.
