Journal Guide

Aims and Scope

The journal aims to open up a space for publishing in-depth accounts of significant areas of policy development affecting higher education internationally. We encourage authors from a range of disciplinary backgrounds to analyse higher education from fresh perspectives, including drawing on concepts and theories from other academic fields.

Policy here is conceived as relevant to all areas of higher education activity, including transnational education, university governance and leadership, quality assurance and enhancement, academic work, curriculum development and student learning, occurring at the local, regional, national and international level. Comparative analyses across higher education systems are particularly encouraged.

 Contributions are invited which are:

* original and provide in-depth analysis

* historically grounded and forward-looking

* reflections on implications for policy broadly

* presented in a style accessible for an international readership

* between 8,000 and 12,000 words.

Review proposals of 500 words (excluding references) should be sent to the editors before submissions of full papers.

The journal is interested in receiving submissions across a wide range of topics, for example:

• Financing HE and the optimal balance between private and public funding
• Changing meanings of 'public' and 'private' in higher education
• Transitions within post-secondary education and implications for social mobility
• Access and the impact of HE on social mobility
• Distance and online provision
• Student engagement policies and practices
• Policy borrowing, adaptation and transnational policy flows
• The development of the PhD
• The academic profession, academic work and careers
• Private universities and colleges
• Accountability and quality assurance
• Assessment policies
• Community engagement and citizenship education
• Cross border and off-shore provision including international branch campuses

This journal intends to provide clear, insightful, balanced contributions by international experts, that review the most important, recently published clinical findings related to the diagnosis, treatment, management, and prevention of hepatitis.

We accomplish this aim by appointing international authorities to serve as Section Editors in key subject areas, such as complex issues, global perspectives, and therapeutics for hepatitis B and C. Section Editors, in turn, select topics for which leading experts contribute comprehensive review articles that emphasize new developments and recently published papers of major importance, highlighted by annotated reference lists. An international Editorial Board reviews the annual table of contents, suggests articles of special interest to their country/region, and ensures that topics are current and include emerging research. Commentaries from well-known figures in the field are also provided.

Global Economic Review publishes scholarly economic research, both theoretical and empirical, on issues of vital concern to businesses, governments, and decision makers in Asia and the world. Particular focus is given to policy oriented research that highlights the dynamics of Korean and East Asian economies and industries. The journal's coverage includes the following subject areas: international trade and finance, comparative economic and industrial studies of emerging markets, issues of corporate, public and global governance, and other economic and business-related issues in Korea and East Asia.

European Accounting Review is classified as 3* (out of 4) in the Association of Business Schools Academic Journal Quality Guide Devoted to the advancement of accounting knowledge, it provides a forum for the publication of high quality accounting research manuscripts. The journal acknowledges its European origins and the distinctive variety of the European accounting research community. Conscious of these origins, The European Accounting Review emphasises openness and flexibility, not only regarding the substantive issues of accounting research, but also with respect to paradigms, methodologies and styles of conducting that research. Though The European Accounting Review is a truly international journal, it also holds a unique position as it is the only accounting journal to provide a European forum for the reporting of accounting research. The advent of e.g. the single European market and the consequent harmonisation of accounting standards and regulations has shown the need for a European forum for accounting research. The European Accounting Review has already become indispensable as such a forum. With an internationally renowned new editorial team and leading contributors, The European Accounting Review is an increasingly important arena for the development of accounting theory and practice. Scandinavian Journal of Disability Research is an international peer-reviewed journal aiming to disseminate innovative, high quality, social research on disability, which enables critical reflection on the position of people with disabilities in different societal contexts.

The journal’s defining characteristic is a focus on the relationship between people with disabilities and their environments. It is multi-disciplinary in scope, incorporating research from a variety of perspectives - such as sociological, historical, cultural studies, health and social policy - which share a commitment to recognising that disability is not a property of the individual person, but something shaped by social relations and structures.

The journal was established by the Nordic Network on Disability Research (NNDR), an association who actively facilitate the sharing and dissemination of social research on disability in the five Nordic countries.
