Digital Applications in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage

eISSN: 2212-0548

Digital Applications in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage (DAACH) is an on-line, peer-reviewed journal in which scholars can publish 3D digital models of the world's cultural heritage sites, monuments, and palaeoanthropological remains accompanied by associated academic articles. The journal aims both to preserve digital cultural heritage models and to provide access to them for the scholarly community to facilitate the academic debate. DAACH offers scholars the opportunity of publishing their models online with full interactivity so that users can explore them at will. It is unique in that its focus is on the application of 3D modeling to cultural heritage. DAACH will provide full peer-review for all 3D models, not just the text, 2D renderings or video fly-throughs, and requires all models to be accompanied by metadata, documentation, and a related article, explaining the history of the subject and its state of preservation, as well as an account of the modeling project itself. The journal focuses on scholarship that either promotes the application of 3D technologies to the fields of archaeology, art and architectural history, and palaeoanthropology or uses 3D technology to make a significant contribution to the study of built structures, works of art or palaeoanthropological remains.Digital Applications in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage will also consider papers dealing with processing of digital data acquired by geophysical prospection in archaeological sites (eg applications of 3D or 2D mapping of buried monuments), digital signals from luminescence measurements, multispectral imaging techniques and processing of atomic force microscopic data applied to archaeomaterials. The provision of a 3D model is not compulsory for an article to be published in this journal.

Eastern European Screen Studies

ISSN: 2997-4828eISSN: 2997-4836

Studies in Eastern European Cinema provides a platform for vigorous debate for the world-wide community of Eastern European film scholars. The scope of the journal covers the cinemas of Albania, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, just as well as cinemas of Czechoslovakia, East Germany and Yugoslavia as now non-existent states with the veritable cinematic tradition.

In the years since the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the political changes of 1989/90, there has been a growing interest in the cinemas of the former countries of the Eastern Bloc. This increasing engagement with  Eastern European  cinema is  demonstrated by the growth in titles published on East European film topics, the number of conferences devoted to this and related topics and courses taught at universities in the UK, North America and elsewhere. There is a growing community of scholars, including a number of students working for post-graduate qualifications, who are engaged with film but also other media, culture,  art and politics from the region.  A major spur to the expansion of this community is the, by now, almost standard use of English within the field, meaning that scholars in the East European countries themselves are also participating in the debates that have developed in recent years. Studies in Eastern European Cinema offers this community a dynamic, innovative, peer-reviewed academic outlet for discursive focus, and is edited by a board of experienced, internationally recognised experts in the field.

All articles in Studies in Eastern European Cinema undergo rigorous peer review, based on anonymised refereeing by two anonymous referees. Instructions for Authors can be found here.

Animal Conservation

ISSN: 1367-9430eISSN: 1469-1795

Animal Conservation provides a forum for rapid publication of novel, peer-reviewed research into the conservation of animal species and their habitats. The focus is on rigorous quantitative studies of an empirical or theoretical nature, which may relate to populations, species or communities and their conservation. The journal publishes single-species papers only when they have clear broader implications for conservation of other species or systems or when the species is of exceptional conservation concern and the study presents new and essential information. A central theme is to publish important new ideas and findings that have general implications for the scientific basis of conservation. Subjects covered include population biology, epidemiology, evolutionary ecology, population genetics, biodiversity, biogeography, palaeobiology and conservation economics. The journal is essential reading for conservation biologists, policy-makers and students. Animal Conservation is published quarterly. A principal objective is to ensure rapid publication of new and original research (ideally within 6 months of submission) following a rigorous review process. Articles should be written in a style that can be understood by the general reader. Papers should have a broad interest and specific or single-species studies will only be considered if the findings have general implications. Cross-disciplinary papers, suggesting new approaches, are particularly encouraged. Proposals for reviews and forum papers intended to promote discussion are particularly welcomed by the Editors. Animal Conservation is a member of and subscribes to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics. Please note that Appendices are no longer published in the printed version of Animal Conservation. Supplementary material may be published in electronic form.
