FREE Special Issue Online Access - 'The British School of International Political Economy' New Political Economy aims to create a forum for work which combines the breadth of vision which characterised the classical political economy of the nineteenth century with the analytical advances of twentieth century social science. Articles that adopt a multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary or comparative approach are particularly welcome. The Editorial Board is especially keen to encourage the submission of articles that cover one or more of the following five broad themes: theoretical contributions to analyses of the policy process for sport which draw upon and develop current macro and meso level theories and analytic frameworks the development of robust, evidence-based empirical research on the impact of sport policy the role and influence of national and sub-national government in relation to sport policy. At the national/federal government level this would include both the utilisation of sport to achieve a range of non-sport objectives such as those related to economic, social, cultural and diplomatic objectives as well as policy focused more sharply on sport outcomes such as improved elite performance and increased participation. At sub-national/local level this theme would include the use of sport to help fulfil community social and economic objectives as well as the role of regional and local government in providing sport opportunities. the significance of government, for example as regulator, resource provider and competitor, for the operation of commercial, semi-commercial, and not-for-profit/voluntary clubs, leagues and national sports organisations/national governing bodies, and the development activities of these organisations. the role of transnational government organisations, such as the EU, the World Anti-Doping Agency, UNESCO, Council of Europe, and NGOs, such as the International Olympic Committee and the major international federations, in relation, for example, to the regulation and development of sport. As the flagship journal of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD), Child Development has published articles, essays, reviews, and tutorials on various topics in the field of child development since 1930. The Journal of the Learning Sciences provides a multidisciplinary forum for the presentation of research on learning and education. The journal seeks to foster new ways of thinking about learning that will allow our understanding of cognition and social cognition to have impact in education. It publishes research articles that advance our understanding of learning in real-world situations and of promoting learning in such venues, including articles that report on the roles of technology can play in promoting deep and lasting learning. Architectural Theory Review is an international forum for generating, exchanging and reflecting on architectural theory. It is a review in the sense of a periodical publication containing articles, discussions, and review essays concerned with the contemporary state of architectural theory. But more than this, it uses the notion of review as a verb, to forge a distinct approach to architectural theory and discourse. The journal investigates relationships between current critical issues, the legacy of past debates, and the continued reconfiguration of enduring concerns in architectural theory. ATR values the untimely as well as the propitious - attending to the overlooked and unrealised as well as the projective, and thus allows for critical and even subversive readings of what architectural theory has been, can be and will be. The underpinning for ATR's editorial approach is thus not a disciplinary field or ideological position, but rather a formal strategy. Each special issue of ATR concentrates on reviewing a particular object 8211; whether a text, a drawing, a building, or otherwise 8211; the implications and legacies of which are addressed by the contributors to that special issue. Dialectical Anthropology is an international journal that seeks to invigorate discussion among left intellectuals by publishing peer-reviewed articles, editorials, letters, reports from the field, political exchanges, and book reviews that foster open debate through criticism, research and commentary from across the social sciences and humanities. We provide a forum for work with a pronounced dialectical approach to social theory and political practice for scholars and activists working in Marxist and broadly political-economic traditions, and those who wish to be in dialogue or debate with these traditions. Since 1975, Dialectical Anthropology has been dedicated to the transformation of class society through internationalizing conversations about the stakes of contemporary crises and the means for social change. Our format is shaped by these goals. Following peer review, accepted manuscripts are sent to select scholars and activists whose comments are published with the article and a reply by the manuscript author. These exchanges aim to provide space for comment, criticism, agreement, and disagreement, about significant issues of our time, from a broad range of perspectives. We also publish timely reports from the field by scholars, activists, and informants. Our 'Dialectical Forum' is dedicated to back-and-forth discussion among scholars and activists. Finally, our book review section rejects the traditional 1000 word format in favour of substantial essays that analyse several books or other significant texts in a dialectical way and contextualize them within contemporary politics, economics, society and culture. We invite contributions from authors interested in raising the level of political engagement internationally and across disciplinary divides and welcome participation by scholars, activists, and commentators from all perspectives seeking discussion about the union of theory and practice towards significant s, ocial change. Dialectical Anthropology is committed to reaching beyond an Anglophone readership and encourages submissions, dialogue and active participation in languages other than English. The journal will publish these submissions to the extent that its resources and capabilities allow.
