Defense & Security Analysis is an independent, interdisciplinary and international journal which is mainly concerned with the field of defense theory and analysis. Whilst endeavouring to be scholarly in both content and style, it is designed to be a forum for exchange of data, ideas and methodological approaches among the professional military, their supporting bureaucracies and academic and independent researchers involved in the analysis of defense policy. A wide range of methodological approaches to defense matters will be encompassed - quantitative, qualitative and speculative. The Editors welcome contributions to Defense & Security Analysis that fall within the following subject categories: * Comparative defense policies * Defense intelligence * Defense management and command * Defense procurement and sales * Defense technology, research and development * Economics of defense * Formulation, simulation and prediction of defense issues * Historical patterns and trends concerning defense * Hypotheses, theories and critiques of defense, security and war * Internal defense and low-intensity operations * Medical and psychological dimensions of defense * Methodological approaches to defense issues * Operations research and analysis * Social and legal aspects of war, defense and armed forces * Terrorism, counter-terrorism and internal security In addition to scholarly, refereed articles, Defense & Security Analysis will include commissioned works and contributions published at the discretion of the Editors. Suggestions or proposals of possible articles and reviews are therefore welcomed. Unless the author specifies to the contrary, submitted articles will normally be evaluated, anonymously, by an independent reviewer. Also, in the tradition of scientific and professional journals, Defense & Security Analysis will have a section on Professional Notes containing ideas, hypothesis, lines of argument and enquiry, and comment. These should be between 500 and 1,000 words, will be included solely at the discretion of the Editors, and can be accepted up to 3 months before the date of publication. Critical Policy Studies brings contemporary theoretical and methodological discussions, both normative and empirical, to bear on the understanding and analysis of public policy, at local, national and global levels. The journal offers a unique forum for researchers, policy-makers and practitioners to challenge established accounts of policy-analytic methods, to explore alternative approaches to policy-making, and to promote democratic governance. To this end, the journal concentrates on the relation of political and policy theory to specific practices of governance, in particular as they pertain to democratic governance, participatory practices, social justice and general public welfare. This necessitates an emphasis on the interplay between qualitative and quantitative modes of inquiry. The journal thus moves beyond narrow empirical approaches to pay special attention to interpretive, argumentative, discursive approaches to policy-making.Although Critical Policy Studies is a rigorous academic journal, it also pays special attention to the practical aspects of policy-making and analysis that confront real-world practitioners. In addition, the journal includes essays on current debates and opinions in the field, review articles that reflect on published research, and book reviews. Peer ReviewAll articles that appear in Critical Policy Studies have been subjected to rigorous peer review. Submissions to the journal undergo an initial editor screening and, where it is decided to pursue the possibility of publication, are reviewed by two referees to whom the identity of the writer is not revealed. Where articles engage with the work of one or more of the editors themselves, referees are chosen not by the latter, but by another editor or member of the editorial board. This screening and refereeing process applies to all texts published in CPS except editorial introductions, comments on articles previously published, book reviews and book notes.

Digital Creativity is a major peer-reviewed journal at the intersection of the creative arts and digital technologies. It publishes articles of interest to those involved in the practical task and theoretical aspects of making or using digital media in creative contexts. The purpose of Advances in Chronic Kidney Disease is to provide in-depth, scholarly review articles about the care and management of persons with early kidney disease and kidney failure, as well as those at risk for kidney disease. Emphasis is on articles related to the early identification of kidney disease; prevention or delay in progression of kidney disease; the multidisciplinary case management of patients with chronic kidney disease or kidney failure, organ effects of kidney disease; epidemiology and outcomes research in chronic kidney disease; benefits and complications of the primary treatment methods, dialysis and transplantation; technical aspects of the delivery of uremia therapy; care of the critically ill patient with kidney failure in the intensive care setting; new therapies for kidney failure; and health care research in chronic kidney disease.
