The aim of this journal is to keep readers informed by providing cutting-edge reviews on key topics pertaining to cardiovascular risk. We use a systematic approach: international experts prepare timely articles on relevant topics that highlight the most important recent original publications.

We accomplish this aim by appointing Section Editors in major subject areas across the discipline of cardiovascular medicine to select topics for review articles by leading experts who emphasize recent developments and highlight important papers published in the past year. An Editorial Board of internationally diverse members suggests topics of special interest to their country/region and ensures that topics are current and include emerging research. We also provide commentaries from well-known figures in the field.

As the field of gastroenterology and hepatology rapidly evolves, the wealth of published literature can be overwhelming. The aim of the journal is to help readers stay abreast of such advances by offering authoritative, systematic reviews by leading experts.

Major topics in gastroenterology are covered, including pediatric gastroenterology, neuromuscular disorders, infections, nutrition, and inflammatory bowel disease. We also provide commentaries from well-known figures in the field.

Diatom Research is the journal of the International Society for Diatom Research. The journal is published quarterly, in March, June, September and December, and welcomes manuscripts on any aspect of diatom biology. In addition to full-length papers, short notes and reviews of recent literature are published which need not contain all the sections required for full-length papers; we see these as being necessary to record information which is of interest but which cannot be followed up in detail. Discursive 8220;Opinion8221; papers are encouraged which would not necessarily follow the normal lay-out. If extremely long papers are to be offered, the author(s) should contact the editors first to discuss any problems. Book reviews, obituaries and meeting reports can be published. All papers will be subject to critical review by the editors and referees, as appropriate to their content. Papers will be accepted in English only.

The Journal publishes original refereed papers, review papers and correspondence in the fields of skin and cosmetic research. It is read by practising cosmetic scientists and dermatologists, as well as specialists in more diverse disciplines that are developing new products which contact the skin. The aim of the Journal is to present current scientific research, both pure and applied, in: cosmetics, toiletries, perfumery and allied fields. Areas that are of particular interest include: human safety testing of skin, hair and oral products, physical chemistry and technology of emulsion and dispersed systems, theory and application of surfactants, new developments in olfactive research, aerosol technology and selected aspects of analytical chemistry.

The scope of this journal covers Computational Physics, Physical Computation and related subjects. Journal of Chemical Ecology is devoted to promoting an ecological understanding of the origin, function, and significance of natural chemicals that mediate interactions within and between organisms. Such relationships, often adaptively important, comprise the oldest of communication systems in terrestrial and aquatic environments. The strong interdisciplinary association that has developed between chemists and biologists has accelerated our understanding of these interactions in nature. Scientific contributions, including review articles, original research papers, rapid communications, and Letters to the Editor are welcome from either members or nonmembers of the International Society of Chemical Ecology. Manuscripts must be in English. They may include substantive observations of interactions in nature, the elucidation of the chemical compounds involved, the mechanisms of their production and reception, and the translation of such basic information into survey and control protocols. The Journal of Early Christian History aims to contribute to scholarship in early Christian and Byzantine studies by publishing high quality research articles, review articles and book reviews. The journal aspires to approach the field of early Christian and Byzantine studies from new perspectives, welcoming studies incorporating various methodologies, contextual trajectories and interdisciplinary research. The journal especially wishes to promote research in these fields within a South African and wider African context, but not neglecting the international scholarly community. It therefore publishes individually submitted articles, articles resulting from research projects and also conference proceedings. Articles and reviews from the following disciplines are covered by the scope of the journal: New Testament Studies; Patristics and Late Ancient Studies; Byzantine Studies. Although these disciplines form the crux of research covered by the journal, studies from other relevant fields such as the Old Testament and Septuagint, Classics and Religion would also be considered for publication.

The Journal of Field Archaeology is an international, refereed journal serving the interests of archaeologists, anthropologists, historians, scientists, and others concerned with the recovery and interpretation of archaeological data. Its scope is worldwide and is not confined to any particular time period. Contributions in English are welcomed from all countries.The Journal publishes:- Field reports whose results in terms of interpretive content or of techniques and methods employed seem clearly to be of more than regional interest.- Technical and methodological studies that relate to actual archaeological data, are also of general rather than only regional significance, and would be comprehensible to most readers.- Review articles such as updated regional or topical summaries designed to appeal to a fairly wide professional readership.- Occasional essays on the history of archaeology in major geographical areas, or with respect to research topics of general archaeological concern.- Brief preliminary reports describing the results of recent fieldwork or other research.

The 'Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences' is the official journal of the Japanese Society of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and the Asian-Pacific Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, and the Japan Biliary Association. The journal succeeds the 'Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery' with its well-established reputation and 16-year history. The newly named journal builds upon that tradition with the expanded scope of disseminating knowledge in broader fields not limited to surgery. Also welcomed are articles on radiology (including interventional radiology), pathology, endoscopy, biochemistry, and physiology--in all aspects of the field of hepatic, biliary, and pancreatic diseases. All contributions, which are published as original articles, topics, review articles, technical notes, images of interest, rapid communications, letters to the editors, and other articles, should be aimed at promoting international scientific collaboration.

The Journal of High Speed Networks is an international archival journal, active since 1992, providing a publication vehicle for covering a large number of topics of interest in the high performance networking and communication area. Its audience includes researchers, managers as well as network designers and operators. The main goal will be to provide timely dissemination of information and scientific knowledge. The journal will publish contributed papers on novel research, survey and position papers on topics of current interest, technical notes, and short communications to report progress on long-term projects. Submissions to the Journal will be refereed consistently with the review process of leading technical journals, based on originality, significance, quality, and clarity. International in scope and audience, the Journal of Insect Conservation publishes articles on the conservation of insects and related invertebrates. The papers presented touch on all aspects of conservation and biodiversity of insects and closely related groups such as Arachnids and Myriapods, including ecological work with conservation implications. Articles focus on both theoretical and practical topics, addressing the subject at the community, population and species level. Coverage includes aspects of behaviour, taxonomy and genetics, and ranges from local to global. Review articles are included, as well as points of view which are likely to stimulate debate. The journal is produced in association with Butterfly Conservation, a wildlife charity dedicated to the conservation of lepidoptera and their habitats which was closely involved in developing its concept.
