Journal Guide

Mammal Review covers all aspects of mammalian biology and ecology. We particularly welcome hypothesis-driven analytical and systematic reviews of current theoretical and applied research on mammals, meta-analyses, practical assessments of techniques for studying mammals and large-scale considerations of the status, conservation and management of mammals. As well as reviews, comments, in which authors respond to papers in Mammal Review, and short communications, in which original research or important new methods are described, are published. Authors may consult the Editor-in-Chief about potential contributions or submit unsolicited papers. The journal is the official scientific periodical of the Mammal Society.

The Anthropology of Work Review is the publication of the Society for the Anthropology of Work, which is a section of the American Anthropological Association. The goal of the journal is to publish research that will facilitate exchanges between those engaged in the study of all dimensions of human work. Articles and photo essays are welcomed from those working inside and outside academic contexts, from all nations and from all subfields and areas of specialty within anthropology. Theoretical and methodological discussions of the study of work and its contexts are encouraged, including interdisciplinary, collaborative, and student submissions.

The Australian Economic History Review is concerned with the historical treatment of economic, social and business issues related to Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific. Papers examine these issues not only from the perspective of economic history but also from the related disciplines of history, economics, history of economic thought, industrial relations, demography, sociology, politics and business studies. New methodological approaches are particularly welcome. The editors also wish to promote the exchange of critical comments on important topics in these fields. In addition to its role as a leading journal of scholarly articles in the broad discipline of economic history, the Australian Economic History Review aims to provide a forum for frank and informal views on the teaching, research and institutional location of economic history.

Complex Psychiatry is a peer-reviewed, rapid communication journal that focuses on the complexity of psychiatry and human behavior considering a wide range of methods – including genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, pharmacogenomics, bioinformatics, molecular neuropharmacology, neural circuits, neural stem cells, and systems neurobiology in humans, and in animal and cellular model systems. The journal publishes original research articles and reviews that shed light onto the biology of psychiatric illness and complex behavioral traits. Submitted papers will be subject to an editorial review, and a decision whether to further peer review will be made in approximately 5 business days. We aim to have an initial review decision within 1 month. Simultaneous BioRxiv submission is strongly encouraged.

The International Labour Review is the world's leading multidisciplinary journal of labour market institutions and economics. Its aim is to advance academic research and inform policy debate and decision-making in these fields by bringing together the original thinking of lawyers, economists, sociologists, political scientists and industrial relations specialists on a broad range of labour market policy and social protection concerns. The International Labour Review also features concise reports on current developments considered to be of particular interest to those working in these fields and reviews of recent major publications. Japan Architectural Review is the official peer-reviewed journal of the Architectural Institute of Japan. The journal covers all aspects of architectural design and building sciences, including perspectives offered through the lens of science, technology, engineering, economics, social science and human-centered design, architectonics and other related fields. The journal provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, innovation and information between architects, researchers and engineers, with the aim of advancing the contribution architecture can make in mitigating and resolving a broad range of problems faced locally and globally. Japan Architectural Review publishes original papers, invited reviews, design reviews and translated papers in the areas noted above. The journal is published quarterly, and all content is published open access.

The Journal of Iberian and Latin American Studies is an international journal devoted to the history and cultures of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America. "Its main purpose is to disseminate research of the highest standards in the areas of early modern, modern and contemporary history. This includes work in the area of cultural production that is historically grounded.

The Journal of Iberian and Latin American Studies publishes three issues per year. All articles will be published in English. In addition to research articles, the journal has a section of Reviews providing critical reviews of recent publications as well as longer Review Articles on specific topics. The Editorial Board can request or accept proposals of monographic issues.

Peer Review Statement

All submitted research articles undergo an initial editor screening, followed by double-blind peer review with at least two independent referees.

Review Process

Research in Middle Level Education Online (RMLE Online) uses a triple-blind review process. Manuscripts are initially reviewed by the Editor. Manuscripts that meet the journal's standards are forwarded to three reviewers who serve on the Editorial Review Board. A decision regarding publication is typically reached within two months of the date the manuscript is sent out for review. This decision is communicated to the corresponding author by email. 

Scandinavian Journal of History presents articles on Scandinavian history and review essays surveying themes in recent Scandinavian historical research.It concentrates on perspectives of national historical particularities and important long-term and short-term developments. The editorial policy gives particular priority to Scandinavian topics and to efforts of placing Scandinavian developments into a larger context. Studies explicitly comparing Scandinavian processes and phenomena to those in other parts of the world are therefore regarded as particularly important. In addition to publishing articles and review essays, the journal includes short book reviews. Review essay proposals and polemical communications are welcomed.Scandinavian Journal of History is published for the Historical Associations of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and the Scandinavian subcommittees of the International Committee of Historical Sciences.

Theoretical Ecology publishes innovative research in theoretical ecology, including ecophysiology, population ecology, behavioral ecology, evolutionary ecology, ecosystem ecology, community ecology, and ecosystem and landscape ecology. The editors emphasize work that bridges disciplinary boundaries, such as the intersection between quantitative social sciences and ecology, or physical influences on ecological processes.The contents include regular articles, review papers, and rapid communications. Theoretical Ecology also offers a rapid communications option for short manuscripts of unusually broad interest to the ecological community.

Victorian Periodicals Review has developed a large and far-reaching audience. VPR has evolved into a review with an annual index, member questionnaires, and one of a projected series of guides to major research libraries and their holdings, lists of forthcoming articles, obituaries of members who played a substantial role, and informative articles on a wide range of topics from a variety of disciplines. VPR is the only refereed journal that concentrates on the editorial and publishing history of Victorian periodicals. Its emphasis is on the importance of periodicals for an understanding of the history and culture of Victorian Britain, Ireland, and the Empire. Special issues have been devoted to Dickens, Macmillan s Magazine, Art, Theory, American Periodicals, Women Critics and Editors, and the Athenaeum. Published quarterly.

Youth Theatre Journal is a refereed journal which draws its contributions from a wide community of researchers, philosophers, educators, and performance theorists. Youth Theatre Journal welcomes 5,000-7,000 word articles which report on and discuss research and methodological issues from the point of view of philosophy, history, educational theory, sociology, critical theory, and comparative studies. The journal focuses of the dissemination of ideas relating to practical and theoretical developments in the field of theatre and performance by, with, and for children and youth and drama/theatre education.Peer Review Policy: All review papers in this journal have undergone editorial screening and double-blind peer review.

Journal of Genocide Research is a cross-disciplinary journal that promotes the scholarly study of genocide.

Genocide is a contested legal, historical, sociological and political term that is applied in various spheres: in international law, in academic analyses of genocide, past and present, and in political claim making. Journal of Genocide Research welcomes contributions that combine empirical research with conceptual reflection on these and related topics, like social psychology, military intervention, post-genocide conflict management as well as gender and memory issues.

All submissions undergo rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by two external scholars.

Applied Psychology: An International Review is the official journal of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP), the oldest worldwide association of scholars and practitioners of the discipline of psychology (founded in 1920). Applied Psychology: An International Review is a peer-reviewed, truly international outlet for the scholarly dissemination of findings in applied psychology. Articles are encouraged from all areas of applied psychology including, but not limited to, organizational, cross-cultural, educational, health, counseling, sport and environmental psychology. Particularly invited are articles that advance understanding of psychological processes across a range of applied phenomena and studies that examine the effects of different national and cultural contexts. As the official journal of the World Leisure Organisation, the purpose of the World Leisure Journal is to stimulate and communicate research, theory, and critical thought in all areas that address leisure, including play, recreation, the arts and culture, sport, festivals, events and celebrations, health and fitness, and travel and tourism. Empirical and theoretical manuscripts, as well as position papers, review articles, and critical essays are published in the World Leisure Journal .

The World Leisure Journal is international in scope, and encourages submissions from authors from all areas of the world. Comparative cross-national and cross-cultural research reports are especially welcome. For empirical papers, all types of research methods are appropriate and the subject matter in papers may be addressed from perspectives derived from the social, behavioural, and biological sciences, education, and the humanities. Both pure and applied research reports are appropriate for publication in the World Leisure Journal .
