The aim is to publish research that normally resides on the borderline between people, technology, and organisations. Including how people use information technology, how experience and expertise develop through work, and how incidents and accidents are due to the interaction between individual, technical and organisational factors.

The target is thus the study of people at work from a cognitive systems engineering and socio-technical systems perspective.

The most relevant working contexts of interest to CTW are those where the impact of modern technologies on people at work is particularly important for the users involved as well as for the effects on the environment and plants. The Journal of Digital Imaging (JDI) is the official peer-reviewed journal of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM). The Journal of the History of the Neurosciences assists the formation of a basis of historical background knowledge complementary to current understanding of the neurosciences. Contributions to the history of development in neurology over recent decades will be of assistance to neurologists working in the field. The Journal will cover all aspects of modern neurology as well as roots of the neurosciences in the more distant past. Where they contain original information or novel comment, historical and biographical accounts of individuals and institutions in the neurosciences will be accepted for publication. The history of ideas, the evolution of society and medicine, and the connection between neurosciences and the discipline of philosophy will also be open for discussion in the Journal. Journal for Cultural Research is an international journal, based in Lancaster University's Institute for Cultural Research. It is interested in essays concerned with the conjuncture between culture and the many domains and practices in relation to which it is usually defined, including, for example, media, politics, technology, economics, society, art and the sacred.Culture is no longer, if it ever was, singular. Content: Military Psychology is the quarterly journal of Division 19 (Society for Military Psychology) of the American Psychological Association. The journal seeks to facilitate the scientific development of military psychology by encouraging communication between researchers and practitioners. The domain of military psychology is the conduct of research or practice of psychological principles within a military environment. The journal publishes behavioral science research articles having military applications in the areas of clinical and health psychology, training and human factors, manpower and personnel, social and organizational systems, and testing and measurement. Topics of major concern to military psychology will be covered in special journal issues. Military Psychology is international in scope, and the editors encourage submission of articles that address research being carried out in a variety of national settings. Contributions will be considered for publication in the following categories: Research Articles: Reports of empirical research. Notes: Brief articles describing work that is largely confirmatory, advances in knowledge arising as by-products of broader studies, or new research techniques and methodologies. Reviews: Scholarly integrations of individual areas of empirical research. Communications: Information on policies and trends that affect the support and direction of research in military psychology. Clinical Practice: Case studies, theoretical articles, program development evaluations, and research articles of direct application for military psychologists in clinical settings. Peer Review Policy: Once a manuscript is processed it is assigned a manuscript control number and given to an Action Editor (one of the Associate Editors) for editorial oversight. Natural Resources Research (NRR) is one of three journals sponsored by the International Association for Mathematical Geology (IAMG) and is co-sponsored by the Energy Mineral Division of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG/EMD). NRR publishes quantitative geoscientific studies reporting on the search for and development of natural resources, including their associated environmental, economical, and risk-related aspects. Reports regarding petroleum or energy-mineral resources are of interest, as are investigations on the exploitation of any metallic or non-metallic resource. The role of computer orientated techniques in analysis and design of geotechnical structures has been firmly established in recent years. New techniques are being rapidly developed and applied in the fields of offshore, nuclear, dam, mining and transportation engineering. Using these techniques it is now possible to check the validity of various empirical rules that have become prevalent in geotechnical engineering practice.Computers and Geotechnics provides an up-to-date reference to the engineers and researchers engaged in computer aided analysis, design and research in geotechnical engineering. The journal is intended for an expeditious dissemination of new developments in the broad areas of soil and rock mechanics. Static, cyclic and transient loading situations are relevant. Epilepsy Research provides for publication of high quality articles in both experimental and clinical epilepsy research, with a special emphasis on translational research that ultimately relates to epilepsy as a human condition. The journal is intended to provide a forum for reporting the best and most rigorous epilepsy research from all disciplines ranging from biophysics and molecular biology to epidemiological and psychosocial research. As such the journal will publish original papers relevant to epilepsy from any scientific discipline and also studies of a multidisciplinary nature. Clinical and experimental research papers adopting fresh conceptual approaches to the study of epilepsy and its treatment are encouraged. The overriding criteria for publication are novelty, significant clinical or experimental relevance, and interest to a multidisciplinary audience in the broad arena of epilepsy. The majority of these problems clearly cross traditional scientific boundaries.The objective of the journal Global and Planetary Change is to achieve a multidisciplinary view of the causes, processes and limits of variability in planetary change. The journal focuses on the record of change in earth history and the analysis and prediction of recent and future changes. Human Movement Science provides a forum for presenting, and bringing together, psychological, neurophysiological and biomechanical/biophysical research on human movement. Animal studies, insofar as their significance to human movement is made clear, are equally acceptable. The nature of the research to be reported may vary from fundamental studies of motor control and learning, including the perceptual support of movement, to more applied studies in the fields of, for example, sport, dance and rehabilitation, with the proviso that also the latter studies have a distinct theoretical bearing.Human Movement Science contains: (a) reports of empirical work on human movement; (b) theoretical (overview) articles on human movement, including its modelling; (c) letters to the editor containing a critical commentary on a published paper. The Journal of Biomedical Informatics (formerly Computers and Biomedical Research) has been designed to reflect a commitment to high-quality original research papers, reviews, and commentaries in the area of biomedical informatics. Although we publish articles motivated by applications in the biomedical sciences (for example, clinical medicine, health care, population health, imaging, and translational bioinformatics), the journal emphasizes reports of new methodologies and techniques that have general applicability and that form the basis for the evolving science of biomedical informatics. Articles on medical devices; evaluations of implemented systems (including clinical trials of information technologies); or papers that provide insight into a biological process, a specific disease, or treatment options would generally be more suitable for publication in other venues. Papers on applications of signal processing and image analysis are often more suitable for biomedical engineering journals, although we do publish papers that emphasize the information management and knowledge representation/modeling issues that arise in the storage and use of biological signals and images. System descriptions are welcome if they illustrate and substantiate the underlying methodology that is the principal focus of the report and an effort is made to address the generalizability and/or range of application of that methodology.The methods that are the focus of JBI papers may be drawn from any of a number of component sciences in the field of biomedical informatics. Although the methods are often related to the field of computer science, many JBI papers will emphasize innovative techniques from other fields, such as decision science, statistics, cognitive science, psychology, information science, or management science.
