Criminal Justice Studies, a quarterly refereed journal, publishes articles that deal with substantive criminal justice and criminological issues. The journal welcomes all articles that are relevant to the issue of criminal justice, as well as those that may be outside the field but have relevancy to the topic of criminal justice. Articles that cover public administration, issues of public policy, as well as public affairs issues are welcome. The journal also publishes relevant literature reviews, research notes and summary reports of innovative research projects in criminal justice.Qualitative and quantifiable articles are sought mainly from academics and researchers in the field, though articles from professionals will also be considered. The Journal of Zoology publishes high-quality research papers that are original and are of broad interest. The Editors seek studies that are hypothesis-driven and interdisciplinary in nature. Papers on animal behaviour, ecology, physiology, anatomy, developmental biology, evolution, systematics, genetics and genomics will be considered; research that explores the interface between these disciplines is strongly encouraged. Studies dealing with geographically and/or taxonomically restricted topics should test general hypotheses, describe novel findings or have broad implications. The Journal of Zoology aims to maintain an effective but fair peer-review process that recognises research quality as a combination of the relevance, approach and execution of a research study. The journal also welcomes reviews and forum papers on current issues, particularly where topics of a complex or poorly understood field are synthesized. Prospective authors should submit a 300-word abstract, a list of up to 20 key references, and a cover letter (two pages maximum) outlining what will be discussed in the article. Proposals for reviews should be submitted to journalofzoology@zsl.org. The submission of completed review manuscripts without prior consultation with the Editor is discouraged. The Journal of Zoology is a member of and subscribes to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics. Papers that report experimental work must comply with the standards laid down by British national or equivalent legislation and the research permit number must be stated in the acknowledgments section of your manuscript.

Irish Educational Studies is an international, refereed journal. It is the official journal of the Educational Studies Association of Ireland (ESAI) and is listed in the Social Science Citation Index™. The journal is open to papers on a range of topics relevant to education, drawing on the full spectrum of disciplines that feed into educational theory and practice, including anthropology, sociology, psychology, history, economics, philosophy, politics and curriculum studies. The Journal for General Philosophy of Science is a forum for the discussion of a variety of attitudes concerning the philosophy of science. It has as its subject matter the philosophical, especially methodological, ontological, epistemological, anthropological, and ethical foundations of the individual sciences. Particular emphasis is laid on bringing both the natural, the cultural, and the technical sciences into a philosophical context, within which the historical presuppositions and conditions of the current problems of the philosophy of science are also included in the discussion.

The Journal for General Philosophy of Science has been successful in its attempt to serve as a forum that bridges the gap between the different sciences, especially the natural, cultural, and social sciences. One of its purposes is to discuss and contrast the common as well as the different specific methodological and philosophical foundations of the individual sciences, taking into account all currently relevant positions of the philosophy of science.

In recent years considerable insight has been gained into the problems of current philosophy of science by considering the historical dimension of the sciences. This is why more intensive efforts will be made in the future towards the integration of historical and systematic considerations.

The Journal of Cellular Physiology publishes reports of high biological significance in areas of eukaryotic cell biology and physiology, focusing on those articles that adopt a molecular mechanistic approach to investigate cell structure and function. There is appreciation for the application of cellular, biochemical, molecular and in vivo genetic approaches, as well as the power of genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and systems biology. In particular, the Journal encourages submission of high-interest papers investigating the genetic and epigenetic regulation of proliferation and phenotype as well as cell fate and lineage commitment by growth factors, cytokines and their cognate receptors and signal transduction pathways that influence the expression, integration and activities of these physiological mediators. Similarly, the Journal encourages submission of manuscripts exploring the regulation of growth and differentiation by cell adhesion molecules in addition to the interplay between these processes and those induced by growth factors and cytokines. Studies on the genes and processes that regulate cell cycle progression and phase transition in eukaryotic cells, and the mechanisms that determine whether cells enter quiescence, proliferate or undergo apoptosis are also welcomed. Submission of papers that address contributions of the extracellular matrix to cellular phenotypes and physiological control as well as regulatory mechanisms governing fertilization, embryogenesis, gametogenesis, cell fate, lineage commitment, differentiation, development and dynamic parameters of cell motility are encouraged. Finally, the investigation of stem cells and changes that differentiate cancer cells from normal cells including studies on the properties and functions of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes will remain as one of the major interests of the Journal.

Developmental Psychobiology is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research papers from the disciplines of psychology, biology, neuroscience, and medicine that contribute to an understanding of behavior development. Research that focuses on development in the embryo/fetus, neonate, juvenile, or adult animal and multidisciplinary research that relates behavioral development to anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, or evolution is appropriate. The journal represents a broad phylogenetic perspective on behavior development by publishing studies of invertebrates, fish, birds, humans, and other animals. The journal publishes experimental and descriptive studies whether carried out in the laboratory or field. The journal also publishes review articles and theoretical papers that make important conceptual contributions. Special dedicated issues of Developmental Psychobiology , consisting of invited papers on a topic of general interest, may be arranged with the Editor-in-Chief. Developmental Psychobiology also publishes Letters to the Editor, which discuss issues of general interest or material published in the journal. Open access is provided through the payment of an article processing charge (APC) paid after acceptance. APCs are often financed by an author's institution or the funder supporting their research.

The articles in this journal are peer reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the IEEE PSPB Operations Manual (sections 8.2.1.C & 8.2.2.A). Each published article was reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a single-blind peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. Articles will be screened for plagiarism before acceptance.

Corresponding authors from low-income countries are eligible for waived or reduced APCs.

The IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics journal covers all issues of widespread or generic interest to engineers who work in the field of power electronics. The Journal editors will enforce standards and a review policy equivalent to the IEEE Transactions, and only papers of high technical quality will be accepted. Papers which treat new and novel device, circuit or system issues which are of generic interest to power electronics engineers are published. Papers which are not within the scope of this Journal will be forwarded to the appropriate IEEE Journal or Transactions editors. Examples of papers which would be more appropriately published in other Journals or Transactions include: 1) Papers describing semiconductor or electron device physics. These papers would be more appropriate for the IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices. 2) Papers describing applications in specific areas: e.g., industry, instrumentation, utility power systems, aerospace, industrial electronics, etc. These papers would be more appropriate for the Transactions of the Society which is concerned with these applications. 3) Papers describing magnetic materials and magnetic device physics. These papers would be more appropriate for the IEEE Transactions on Magnetics. 4) Papers on machine theory. These papers would be more appropriate for the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems.  While original papers of significant technical content will comprise the major portion of the Journal, tutorial papers and papers of historical value are also reviewed for publication. 

The African Historical Review is the successor to Kleio: A Journal of Historical Studies from Africa, which was published by the Department of History at the University of South Africa (Unisa) for more than thirty-five years. It therefore has a long and distinguished history. Originally conceived as a research and teaching forum for histories taught in the Department and to promote the work of students and staff, the journal has more recently been transformed into a publication in which high quality articles on a wide variety of historical subjects have appeared. The outstanding level of professional research and writing displayed in the journal has been recognised internationally, and from 2004 it became an accredited academic journal in South Africa, earning subsidy from the Department of Education. It is being relaunched as the African Historical Review in order to attract both a broader readership and contributor base and to showcase scholarship beyond southern Africa thus emphasising its intention to articulate southern African studies with continental African scholarship. The African Historical Review is independent of any professional society or association. Its mission, as befits its base in Africa and its new name, is to be transdisciplinary, responsive to theoretical developments in research relating to the continent of Africa and within fields closely linked to historical and heritage studies (including teaching) more generally.
