Thinking & Reasoning is an international journal dedicated to the understanding of human thought processes, with particular emphasis on studies on reasoning. Whilst the primary focus is on psychological studies of thinking, contributions are welcome from philosophers, artificial intelligence researchers and other cognitive scientists whose work bears upon the central concerns of the journal. Topics published in the journal include studies of deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, problem solving, decision making, probability judgement, conceptual thinking and the influence of language and culture on thought.Papers will be accepted for publication on the basis of scientific quality, clarity of exposition and contribution to theoretical understanding of human thinking. Contributions may take any of the following forms:Empirical studies using any methodology appropriate to questions addressed, including experimental or observational methods and utilising either quantitative or qualitative analyses.Theoretical contributions pertinent to issues in the empirical study of human thought but not reporting new data.Critical reviews of research literatures which synthesise findings reported by different authors and which derive new insights or permit conclusions which enhance understanding of theoretical issues.Critical discussion of papers published in Thinking & Reasoning and short reports or notes on other relevant issues.Essay-style extended book reviews, for books of unusual interest to the readership. Cryptography and Communications: Discrete Structures, Boolean Functions and Sequences publishes scholarly research dedicated to improving the quality of the Discrete Structures, Boolean Functions and Sequences used in communication and cryptographic systems. This research aims to increase the speed and capacity of digital communication and strengthen security by improving the encryption necessary to combat cryptanalytic attacks. With improved encryption, communication will become more secure from the cryptanalytic attacks that threaten the confidentiality and integrity of personal data stored on and transmitted by mobile devices. Increasing the speed, reliability, and capacity of wireless communication is essential for growth, since the radio spectrum is a bounded resource. While sometimes treated as separate entities with distinct research goals, communication and cryptography often use similar models and techniques and work in tandem in digital networks. As a result, this journal’s distinctive combination encourages researchers to strive for advancements that will improve both areas simultaneously, thus providing a publishing forum for these domains, covering all the fundamental and computational aspects of these research fields. The journal publishes high-quality papers dealing with cryptography, error-correcting codes, communications and their interactions. Both theoretical and applied papers will be considered, with an emphasis on supporting applications. INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF QUANTUM CHEMISTRY A journal devoted to theory and computation in molecular chemistry, physics and biology The International Journal of Quantum Chemistry is concerned with the quantum mechanical description of the structure, properties, and dynamics of atoms, molecules, condensed matter, and biomolecular systems. In addition to formal development of theory and related mathematical and numerical applications, the Journal is interested in publishing applications where quantum mechanical concepts interact with molecular and phenomenological modeling. The importance to study and understand Islam and contemporary Muslim life from a socio-scientific perspective seems more relevant than ever. Currently, there is no specific journal that offers a platform for discussion on contemporary aspects of Islam and Muslims. Indeed, the historical, political and comparative approach to Islam has been preferred over social scientific research and themes. Contemporary Islam: Dynamics of Muslim Life aims to fill this gap by providing an active forum for the discussion of new ideas, fieldwork experiences, challenging views, and methodological and theoretical approaches to Muslim life.

Contemporary Islam: Dynamics of Muslim Life focuses on topical issues and takes an interdisciplinary approach that benefits from a cross-cultural perspective: articles will explore the relationship between Islam and its contemporary cultural, material, gender, economic, political, and religious expressions from different socio-scientific perspectives, such as anthropology, sociology, education, politics, international relations, ethnomusicology, arts, film studies, economics, human rights, international law, diaspora minority studies, demography, and ethics.

The algae are heterogeneous assemblage of phytosynthetic organisms, one of the most vast and diverse groups of ancient photoautotrophic pro- and eukaryotic organisms (about 30 000 known species). They are micro- and macroscopic, unicellular, colonial, or multicellular, mobile and immobile, attached and free-living. Algae are widespread in water and soil habitats, at different geographic latitudes, and on all continents. They occur in waters with different degrees of salinity, trophicity, organic matter, and hydrogen ions, and at various temperatures. They include planktonic, periphytonic and benthic organisms. Algae are unique model organisms in evolutionary biology and also are used in various genetic, physiological, biochemical, cytological, and other investigations. Algae have practical significance as edible or poisonous plants, as indicator organisms in the monitoring of ecological systems, as agents of self-purification of polluted waters and in the purification of sewage, as the primary producers in the trophic chains of hydrobionts in marine and freshwater, and also as organisms for biotechnology. The quarterly International Journal on Algae (IJA) publishes selected papers translated from the first Russian language phycological journal, Algologia, founded in 1991 in the former Soviet Union. The aim of Algologia is to present recent advances in algology. The journal covers both fundamental and applied aspects in algology, including papers based on the results of wide range of field and experimental studies, as well as reviews and surveys and procedure papers. The journal is intended for specialists in theoretical, experimental, and applied algology, hydrobiology, microbiology, all scientists using algae as a model organisms for research, and all those interested in general problems of biology. The mission of the Journal of Comparative Economics is to lead the new orientations of research in comparative economics. Before 1989, the core of comparative economics was the comparison of economic systems with in particular the economic analysis of socialism in its different forms. In the last fifteen years, the main focus of interest of comparative economists has been the transition from socialism to capitalism. In recent years, mostly as a result of the transition experience, a new orientation of comparative economics has emerged that focuses on the comparison of the economic effects of the various institutions of capitalism, be it in the legal sphere (common law versus civil law), in the political sphere (different types of democracies and electoral regimes) or in the sphere of culture, social norms, etc. This new orientation is a natural development following the very diverse experience of transitions from socialism to capitalism. The transition experience has indeed shown with a vengeance the importance of institutions in the process of economic development.Questions raised along these new orientations include: what institutions are critical (courts, credit markets, good regulations, etc) for successful growth?; how should institutions be measured (subjective surveys, particular laws on the books, etc); why are certain institutions, such as courts and regulatory culture, slow-moving while others, such as constitutions and electoral procedures, relatively fast-moving; why is there so much cross-sectional variance in the quality of institutions, and what kinds of initial conditions or historic natural experiments can be employed to estimate the causal impact of institutions on economic performance? The Journal of Comparative Economics will maintain its tradition of publishing the best papers on the Chinese economy and of being an important outlet for work on economies in Central Europe and the Former Soviet Union; the Journal of Comparative Economics aims to enlarge the interest of the journal to other emerging market economies.
