The field of cellular and molecular bioengineering seeks to understand, so that we may ultimately control, the mechanical, chemical, and electrical processes of the cell.  A key challenge in improving human health is to understand how cellular behavior arises from molecular-level interactions.  CBME, an official journal of the Biomedical Engineering Society, publishes original research and review papers in the following seven general areas:

Molecular: DNA-protein/RNA-protein interactions, protein folding and function, protein-protein and receptor-ligand interactions, lipids, polysaccharides, molecular motors, and the biophysics of macromolecules that function as therapeutics or engineered matrices, for example.

Cellular: Studies of how cells sense physicochemical events surrounding and within cells, and how cells transduce these events into biological responses.  Specific cell processes of interest include cell growth, differentiation, migration, signal transduction, protein secretion and

Diagnostics (ISSN 2075-4418) is an international scholarly open access journal on medical diagnostics. It publishes original research articles, reviews, communications and short notes on the research and development of medical diagnostics. There is no restriction on the length of the papers. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical research in as much detail as possible. Full experimental and/or methodological details must be provided for research articles.

AIDS Research and Treatment is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles, review articles, and clinical studies in all areas of AIDS research and treatment.

Mathematical Research Letters (MRL) is dedicated to rapid publication of short complete papers of original research in all areas of mathematics. Submissions should not exceed 20 journal pages. Expository papers and research announcements of exceptional interest are also occasionally published. High standards are applied in evaluating submissions; the entire editorial board must approve the acceptance of any paper.

Medical Gas Research is an international journal dedicated to publishing basic, translational, and clinical studies focusing on the neurobiology and other medical fields of medical gas research and their applications to neurological and other disorders. Due to the unique nature of medical gas practice, Medical Gas Research will serve also as an information platform for education and technology advances for medical gas fields.

MicroRNA publishes letters, full-length research, review articles, drug clinical trial studies and thematic issues on all aspects of microRNA (miRNA) research. The scope of the journal covers all experimental miRNA research and applied research in health and disease, including therapeutic, biomarkers, and diagnostic applications of MiRNA.

Risks (ISSN 2227-9091) is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly open access journal of research and studies on insurance and financial risk management. It publishes reviews, regular research papers, and communications; there is no restriction on the length of the papers. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical research in as much detail as possible. Full experimental and/or methodical details must be provided for research articles.

Clinical Sarcoma Research publishes articles related to research on sarcomas, both of soft tissue and bone.

Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice is an international journal for health-care providers and clinically oriented researchers that publishes high-quality original research articles and expert reviews in diabetes and related areas. The role of the journal is to provide a venue for dissemination of knowledge and discussion of topics related to diabetes clinical research and patient care. Nutrition Research publishes research articles, communications, and reviews on all aspects of basic and applied nutrition. The mission of Nutrition Research is to serve as the journal for global communication of nutrition and life sciences research on food and health. The field of nutritional sciences includes, but is not limited to, the study of nutrients during growth, reproduction, athletic performance, aging, and disease.A principal focus of the journal is to publish research that advances the understanding of nutrients and health protectants in food for improving the human condition. Of interest are manuscripts on the development of biomarkers for assessing how dietary components influence health status in the human.The journal also encourages submission of manuscripts describing investigations in animal models and cell cultures that utilize methodologic approaches or techniques in biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, toxicology, and physiology. Epidemiologic studies on nutrientand phytochemical intakes in human populations and novel analytical techniques for these compounds are within the scope of the mission for Nutrition Research.

Labour and Industry is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes research offering a multi-disciplinary perspective on the social, organizational and institutional aspects of work and industrial relations. The aims of the journal are to encourage debate and the exchange of views between researchers, to challenge the conceptual boundaries of work and industrial relations, and to contribute to the generation of new ideas by drawing on insights from diverse disciplines.
The journal encourages submissions from researchers reporting original and innovative research that contributes to the theory, practice and public policy dimensions of work and industrial relations. It encourages researchers to locate their contribution in the local context of a study, within the context of international debates, and in developments in the study of work and industrial relations.
The journal also encourages research teams to submit proposals for themed Symposia on new streams of research that stand to make a significant contribution to research.
