International Journal of General Systems is a cross-disciplinary periodical devoted primarily to the publication of original research contributions to system science, basic as well as applied. However, relevant tutorial and survey articles, invited autobiographical articles, book reviews, bibliographies, and letters to the editor are also published. The principal aim of the journal is to promote original systems ideas (concepts, principles, methods, insightful theoretical or experimental results, etc.) that transcend the boundaries between traditional academic disciplines. The term 'general system' in the name of the journal is intended to indicate this aim - the orientation to systems ideas that have a general applicability. Some typical subject areas covered by the journal include: natural language as a systemic or holistic concept, systems modelling, simulation and design; systems complexity and simplification; cross-disciplinary problem solving; and theoretical as well as experimental knowledge regarding various categories of systems, such as adaptive, anticipatory, autopoietic, cellular, chaotic, dynamic, fuzzy, hierarchical, immune-like, learning, neural, quantum, self-organization, self-producing, self-referential, etc. The journal also contains a special area section devoted to intelligent systems. Manuscripts submitted to the journal that the editors do not consider compatible with these Aims and Scope are routinely rejected. All other manuscripts are subject to peer review at the discretion of the Editorial Office. All published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees. International Journal of Geophysics is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles as well as review articles in all areas of geophysics.

The rapidly increasing world population of aged people has led to a growing need to focus attention on the problems of mental disorder in late life. The aim of the Journal is to communicate the results of original research in the causes, treatment and care of all forms of mental disorder which affect the elderly. The Journal is of interest to psychiatrists, psychologists, social scientists, nurses and others engaged in therapeutic professions, together with general neurobiological researchers. The Journal provides an international perspective on the important issue of geriatric psychiatry, and contributions are published from countries throughout the world. The International Journal of Gerontology is the official peer-reviewed journal of the Taiwan Society of Geriatric Emergency and Critical Care Medicine. The scientific information published here is grounded on clinical cases, statistic evidence of original studies, and accumulation of medical knowledge, humanistic ethics and basic researches.Topics in the International Journal of Gerontology (IJGE) cover the advancement of diagnosis and management in urgent, serious and chronic intractable diseases in later life, preventive medicine, long-term care of disability, ethical issues in the diseased elderly and biochemistry, cell biology, endocrinology, molecular biology, pharmacology, physiology and protein chemistry involving diseases associated with age. We did not limit the territory to only critical or emergency condition inasmuch as chronic diseases are frequently brought about by inappropriate management of acute problems. We are also interested in studies bridging the gap between basic and clinical aspects of geriatric diseases In addition to original articles, book reviews, short communications and letters to the editor are also welcome.
