Journal of Hydrology

ISSN: 0022-1694eISSN: 1879-2707

The Journal of Hydrology publishes original research papers and comprehensive reviews in all the subfields of the hydrological sciences including water based management and policy issues that impact on economics and society. These comprise, but are not limited to the physical, chemical, biogeochemical, stochastic and systems aspects of surface and groundwater hydrology, hydrometeorology and hydrogeology. Relevant topics incorporating the insights and methodologies of disciplines such as climatology, water resource systems, hydraulics, agrohydrology, geomorphology, soil science, instrumentation and remote sensing, civil and environmental engineering are included. Social science perspectives on hydrological problems such as resource and ecological economics, environmental sociology, psychology and behavioural science, management and policy analysis are also invited. Multi-and interdisciplinary analyses of hydrological problems are within scope.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Journal of Hydrology: Regional Studies publishes original research papers enhancing the science of hydrology and aiming at region-specific problems, past and future conditions, analysis, review and solutions. The journal particularly welcomes research papers that deliver new insights into region-specific hydrological processes and responses to changing conditions, as well as contributions that incorporate interdisciplinarity and translational science.

The journal topics covered include:

  • surface and subsurface catchment hydrology;
  • impacts of climatic and land use change on natural hydrologic processes and water resources;
  • hydrologic process observations, modeling and prediction;
  • innovative solution strategies for water management issues in transboundary basins and groundwater;
  • economic hydrology;
  • hydrology and livelihoods;
  • cultural and social water allocation;
  • social impacts of water infrastructure.

Journal of Hyperbolic Differential Equations

ISSN: 0219-8916eISSN: 1793-6993

This journal publishes original research papers on nonlinear hyperbolic problems and related topics, of mathematical and/or physical interest. Specifically, it invites papers on the theory and numerical analysis of hyperbolic conservation laws and of hyperbolic partial differential equations arising in mathematical physics. The Journal welcomes contributions in:*Theory of nonlinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws, addressing the issues of well-posedness and qualitative behavior of solutions, in one or several space dimensions.*Hyperbolic differential equations of mathematical physics, such as the Einstein equations of general relativity, Dirac equations, Maxwell equations, relativistic fluid models, etc.*Lorentzian geometry, particularly global geometric and causal theoretic aspects of spacetimes satisfying the Einstein equations.*Nonlinear hyperbolic systems arising in continuum physics such as: hyperbolic models of fluid dynamics, mixed models of transonic flows, etc.*General problems that are dominated (but not exclusively driven) by finite speed phenomena, such as dissipative and dispersive perturbations of hyperbolic systems, and models from statistical mechanics and other probabilistic models relevant to the derivation of fluid dynamical equations.*Convergence analysis of numerical methods for hyperbolic equations: finite difference schemes, finite volumes schemes, etc.The Journal aims to provide a forum for the community of researchers who are currently working in the very active area of nonlinear hyperbolic problems, and will also serve as a source of information for the users of such research.There is no a priori limitation on the length of submitted manuscripts, and even long papers may be published.
