The Journal of Sustainable Forestry provides a linkage of silviculture and the underlying biology: tree physiology, morphology, and genetics. As such, it elucidates the scientific principles and techniques of controlling, protecting, and restoring the regeneration, composition, and growth of natural forest vegetation as well as plantations, agroforestry, and silvo-pastoral systems. The scope of the Journal of Sustainable Forestry is broad. It encompasses topics from biotechnology, physiology, silviculture, wood science, economics, and forest management. New research pertaining to enhancing the sustainability of forests is considered and encouraged, including papers at the molecular, cellular, whole tree, and forest level. Research results dealing with above- and below-ground perspectives are also published in the journal. The journal focuses not only on the sustainability of forests as providers of fuel and lumber, but integrative aspects of agroforestry and sustainable agriculture insofar as forest crops are concerned. Issues that are addressed include: sustainable forestry in the less-developed countries effects of gaseous pollutants and acid rain on tree production and growth water use efficiency increased resistance to low and high temperature stress strategies for forest adaptation to global climate change the role of organic biostimulants in sustainable forestry and agricultureWhile there are journals that deal individually with these various disciplines, the Journal of Sustainable Forestry brings them together and puts them in one forum. Journal of Sustainable Mining covers topics related to mining sciences. The journal's subject matter includes: Mining Technology and Technique; Mining Geophysics; Geoengineering; Geology of Mineral Deposits; Natural and Technological Hazards in Mines; Occupational Safety and Health; Rock Mechanics; Mining Surveying; Management of Mineral Resources; Material Engineering; Clean Coal Technologies; Economics and Industry Organization; and Social Aspects of Mining Activities.

Today's mining of mineral resources faces the challenges related to the more complex extraction conditions, e.g. great depths, natural hazards, environmental restrictions, which all increase the production costs. This is the reason why a novel approach towards the mining sector focuses on the development of environment friendly, clean technologies of minerals extraction and processing. In this respect much attention is given to the development of Clean Coal Technologies addressing also the increasing demand for energy carriers and the challenges concerning the emission limits in mining and energy sector. Therefore, the papers related to the application of the innovative Clean Coal Technologies, like coal gasification in surface and underground reactors, co-gasification of coal with biomass and waste materials, highly efficient combustion, hydrogenation, polygeneration as well as novel catalysts and thermodynamic aspects of thermochemical conversion of solid fuels are also welcome.

Many environmental issues are an inseparable part of any kind of mining activity and influence overall economic system of mining industry. Sustainable management of environment in any way affected by mining activity has crucial influence on a matter of national environmental significance in countries where mining of fossil fuels and valuable minerals is under development. That is why Journal of Sustainable Mining covers also topics related to Environmental Protection at Industrial Areas; Safe waste disposal and Post-mining land reclamation including recently raised problems caused by NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials) that are inherent in exploitations of many kinds of natural resources.

The Journal of Sustainable Tourism advances critical understanding of the relationships between tourism and sustainable development. The journal publishes theoretical, conceptual and empirical research that explores one or more of the economic, social, cultural, political, organisational or environmental aspects of the subject. Contributions are from all disciplinary perspectives, with inter-disciplinary work being especially welcome. Holistic and integrative work is encouraged. All geographical areas are included, as are all forms of tourism, both mass and niche market. The Journal of Sustainable Tourism encourages critical views, as well as new ideas and approaches in relation to the theory and practice linking tourism and sustainability. Refereeing procedures Quality is ensured by rigorous peer evaluation of each main paper by three independent referees.
