JoVE, the Journal of Visualized Experiments, is the world's first peer reviewed scientific video journal. Established in 2006, JoVE is devoted to publishing scientific research in a visual format to help researchers overcome two of the biggest challenges facing the scientific research community today; poor reproducibility and the time and labor intensive nature of learning new experimental techniques. All JoVE articles are indexed in subject-relevant indexing sites, including PubMed/MEDLINE, SciFinder and Scopus Publishing in JoVE allows authors to dynamically present their methods, data analyses and results clearly, accurately, and professionally with the guidance of JoVE's professional videographers and editors JoVE has published thousands of video articles from top research institutions around the world.
The Journal of Vocational Behavior publishes empirical and theoretical articles that expand knowledge of vocational behavior and career development across the life span. Research presented in the journal encompasses the general categories of career choice, implementation, and vocational adjustment and adaptation. The articles contribute to a theoretical understanding of career choice and vocational adjustment and are also valuable for applications in counseling and career development programs in colleges and universities, business and industry, government, and the military. A particularly useful feature is the annual review of research in vocational behavior published in the October issue.Research Areas include:• Career development and choice• Evaluations of measuring instruments and assessment methods• Job satisfaction• Multiple role management and functioning• Occupational stereotyping• Vocational and career adjustment• Work commitment and involvement• Work stress and strain• Work-related transitionsSpecial subscription rates of 114 USD for 2014 are available for members of the Society for Judgment and Decision Making (http://www.sjdm.org/), the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management (http://www.obweb.org/), and the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (http://www.siop.org/). An international research journal with focus on volcanic and geothermal processes and their impact on the environment and society.Submission of papers covering the following aspects of volcanology and geothermal research are encouraged:(1) Geological aspects of volcanic systems: volcano stratigraphy, structure and tectonic influence; eruptive history; evolution of volcanic landforms; eruption style and progress; dispersal patterns of lava and ash; analysis of real-time eruption observations.(2) Geochemical and petrological aspects of volcanic rocks: magma genesis and evolution; crystallization; volatile compositions, solubility, and degassing; volcanic petrography and textural analysis.(3) Hydrology, geochemistry and measurement of volcanic and hydrothermal fluids: volcanic gas emissions; fumaroles and springs; crater lakes; hydrothermal mineralization.(4) Geophysical aspects of volcanic systems: physical properties of volcanic rocks and magmas; heat flow studies; volcano seismology, geodesy and remote sensing.(5) Computational modeling and experimental simulation of magmatic and hydrothermal processes: eruption dynamics; magma transport and storage; plume dynamics and ash dispersal; lava flow dynamics; hydrothermal fluid flow; thermodynamics of aqueous fluids and melts.(6) Volcano hazard and risk research: hazard zonation methodology, development of forecasting tools; assessment techniques for vulnerability and impact.
The Journal of Volcanology and Seismology focuses on current problems of volcanology and seismology, including recent continental and sea-bed volcanic activity, products of volcanic eruptions, structure and 'roots' of volcanoes, seismic and other observations of active volcanoes, prediction of volcanic eruption; Neogen and Quarternary volcanism; historical evolution of volcanism; Igneous petrology, origin of magmas; geochemistry of volcanic and post-volcanic processes and related mineral and ore formation; seismological observation, seismicity, recent crustal movements, deep structure and geodynamics of the transitional zone from Asia to Pacific and other volcanic areas; physics of earthquakes and seismic processes; seismic prediction research; mechanisms of deep-seated magmatic processes and volcanic eruptions. Offers essential coverage of volcanic, seismic events and related processes in the Kuril-Kamchatka arc. Successor to the Bulletin of Volcanological Stations, the journal traces its history to the 1970
Journal of Water and Climate Change is an Open Access journal that publishes novel peer-reviewed research and practitioner papers on all aspects of water science, technology, management and innovation in response to climate change, with emphasis on reduction of energy usage. Review papers are particularly encouraged.
Journal of Water and Health is a peer-reviewed Open Access journal devoted to the dissemination of information on the health implications and control of waterborne microorganisms and chemical substances in the broadest sense for developing and developed countries worldwide. This includes microbial toxins, chemical quality and the aesthetic qualities of water.
The Journal of Water Chemistry and Technology focuses on water and wastewater treatment, water pollution monitoring, water purification, and similar topics. It publishes the results of research covering a very broad range, including the structure of water and its fundamental properties; chemical, physicochemical and biological methods of water treatment; methods of water analysis; instrumentation for monitoring water quality; and automation and control of treatment processes and systems. Its main rubrics are theoretical principles of water conditioning and treatment technology; physical chemistry of water treatment processes; analysis of natural and wastewaters; water treatment and demineralization technology; and biological methods of water treatment. Many of the articles originate from the Institute of Colloid Chemistry and Water Chemistry (Ukrainian Academy of Sciences), which is well known for its contributions to the study of chemical and physicochemical water treatment processes.
The Journal of Water Process Engineering aims to publish refereed, high-quality research papers with significant novelty and impact in all areas of the engineering of water and wastewater processing . Papers on advanced and novel treatment processes and technologies are particularly welcome. The Journal considers papers in areas such as nanotechnology and biotechnology applications in water, novel oxidation and separation processes, membrane processes (except those for desalination) , catalytic processes for the removal of water contaminants, sustainable processes, water reuse and recycling, water use and wastewater minimization, integrated/hybrid technology, process modeling of water treatment and novel treatment processes. Submissions on the subject of adsorbents, including standard measurements of adsorption kinetics and equilibrium will only be considered if there is a genuine case for novelty and contribution, for example highly novel, sustainable adsorbents and their use: papers on activated carbon-type materials derived from natural matter, or surfactant-modified clays and related minerals, would not fulfil this criterion. The Journal particularly welcomes contributions involving environmentally, economically and socially sustainable technology for water treatment, including those which are energy-efficient, with minimal or no chemical consumption, and capable of water recycling and reuse that minimizes the direct disposal of wastewater to the aquatic environment. Papers that describe novel ideas for solving issues related to water quality and availability are also welcome, as are those that show the transfer of techniques from other disciplines. The Journal will consider papers dealing with processes for various water matrices including drinking water (except desalination), domestic, urban and industrial wastewaters, in addition to their residues. It is expected that the journal will be of particular relevance to chemical and process engineers working in the field. The Journal welcomes Full Text papers, Short Communications, State-of-the-Art Reviews and Letters to Editors and Case Studies
