This journal is designed for the electrical engineering industry and publishes the latest research results on the design and utilization of new types of equipment for that industry and on ways of improving the efficiency of existing equipment.

The journal represents a selection of translated articles from two oldest Russian journals on Mechanical and Production Engineering – Vestnik Mashinostroeniya and STIN. The journal coverage is development of different branches of mechanical engineering, new technologies and tools for machine and materials design. A particular emphasis is placed on operations research and production-line layout, industrial robots and manipulators, quality control and process engineering, kinematic analysis of machine assemblies, and computerized integrated manufacturing systems.

The Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry (Zhurnal Prikladnoi Khimii) covers all application problems of modern chemistry, including the structure of inorganic and organic compounds, kinetics and mechanisms of chemical reactions, problems of chemical processes and apparatus, borderline problems of chemistry and applied research. The journal was founded in 1928.

RUSSIAN JOURNAL OF BIOLOGICAL INVASIONS (RJBI) publishes original scientific papers dealing with biological invasions of alien species in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems for the following subjects: description of invasion process (theory, modeling, results of observations and experiments): invasion corridors, invasion vectors, invader species adaptations, vulnerability of aboriginal ecosystems: monitoring of invasion process (reports about findings of organisms out of the limits of natural range, propagule pressure assessment, settling dynamics, rates of naturalization): invasion risk assessment: genetic, evolutional, and ecological consequences of biological invasions of alien species: methods, means of hoarding, processing and presentation of applied research data (new developments, modeling, research results, data base) with factual and geoinformation system applications: use of the results of biological invasion research (methods and new basic results) under the study of marine, fresh-water and terrestrial species, populations, communities and ecosystems: control, rational use and eradication of the harmful alien species.

The Russian Journal of Bioorganic Chemistry (Bioorganicheskaya khimiya) publishes reviews and the results of original experimental and theoretical investigations on the structure, function, structure–activity relation, and synthesis of biopolymers, such as proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides, mixed biopolymers, and their complexes, and low-molecular-mass biologically active compounds (peptides, sugars, lipids, antibiotics, etc.). The journal also covers selected aspects of neuro- and immunochemistry, biotechnology, and ecology. The journal is intended for scientists, tutors and students in higher schools, and researchers in industrial, medical, agricultural, and environmental control laboratories.

Russian Journal of Coordination Chemistry (Koordinatsionnaya Khimiya) was founded in 1975 and is now one of the most prominent chemical journals in Russia. It presents reviews, original papers, and communications on all aspects of theoretical and experimental coordination chemistry. Modern coordination chemistry occupies a special interdisciplinary position in the chemical sciences, being at the junction of various fields and serving as a bridge between the inorganic, organic, physical, analytical, and biological branches of chemistry. The Russian school of coordination chemistry, which began as a creative friendship between A. Werner and L. Chugaev, has developed strong ties with leading western chemical schools. The Russian Journal of Developmental Biology was founded in 1970 by the outstanding Russian biologist Boris L. Astaurov. The journal has made an important contribution to the development of embryology in the former Soviet Union. The journal publishes reviews and experimental papers by Russian and foreign authors dealing with various aspects of developmental biology. It presents fundamental and applied research on development, regeneration, and carcinogenesis at the molecular, cellular, and organismic levels. Russian Journal of Genetics (Genetika) was founded in 1965, soon after the end of Lysenko’s era, a time during which genetics was considered a false, reactionary science. Since its inception, the journal has made a significant contribution to the revival of genetics in the former Soviet Union. The journal publishes reviews and experimental papers in the areas of theoretical and applied genetics. It presents fundamental research on genetic processes at the molecular, cell, organism, and population levels. Russian Journal of Inorganic Chemistry (Zhurnal Neorganicheskoi Khimii) is a monthly periodical established in 1956. It covers the following topics of research: the synthesis and properties of inorganic compounds, coordination compounds, high-temperature semiconductors, physicochemical analysis of inorganic systems, theoretical inorganic chemistry, physical methods of investigation, and physical chemistry of solutions. Topical surveys, book reviews, and conference reports appear systematically. All relevant submissions are accepted. Articles are generally published 10 to 12 months after submission.

The Russian Journal of Marine Biology covers a wide range of research and applied aspects of marine biology as a synthetic science in the study of marine biota and environment. Coverage includes fundamental research on biological processes at molecular, cellular, organism and population levels in marine organisms. The journal also publishes papers dedicated to events in Russian and international marine biological science and the history of biology. The peer-reviewed Russian Journal of Mathematical Physics addresses a broad range of topics, including functional analysis, linear and partial differential equations, algebras, modern differential and algebraic geometry and topology, representations of Lie groups, calculus of variations, asymptotic methods, random process theory, dynamical systems, and control theory.The journal presents mainly original papers with full proof, but also publishes brief communications and state-of-the-art reviews. The main aim of the Russian Journal of Non-Ferrous Metals is to achieve a new knowledge in such topics as extraction metallurgy, hydro- and piro- metallurgy, casting, plastic deformation, metallography and heat treatment, powder metallurgy and composites, self-propagating high-temperature synthesis, surface engineering and advanced protected coatings, environments and energy capacity in non-ferrous metallurgy. Coverage includes both theoretical and applied articles. All major nonferrous metals and alloys are treated, and the emphasis throughout is on the development and improvement of cost effective, environmentally safe methods of nonferrous metals production. The journal publishes articles originating from universities, research institutions, Russian Academy of Sciences institutes and industrial research laboratories.

The Russian Journal of Nondestructive Testing offers current Russian research on the theory and technology of nondestructive testing of materials and components; describes laboratory and industrial investigations of devices and instrumentation; and provides reviews of new equipment developed for series manufacture. Articles cover all physical methods of nondestructive testing, including magnetic and electrical; ultrasonic; X-ray and y-ray; capillary; liquid; and radio. This is a translation of Defectoskopiya, is a publication of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The Russian volume-year is published in English beginning in July.
