Swarm Intelligence is the principal peer reviewed publication dedicated to reporting research and new developments in this multidisciplinary field. The journal publishes original research articles and occasional reviews on theoretical, experimental, and practical aspects of swarm intelligence. It offers readers reports on advances in the understanding and utilization of systems that are based on the principles of swarm intelligence. Emphasis is given to such topics as the modeling and analysis of collective biological systems; application of biological swarm intelligence models to real-world problems; and theoretical and empirical research in ant colony optimization, particle swarm optimization, swarm robotics, and other swarm intelligence algorithms. Articles often combine experimental and theoretical work.

The Swiss Journal of Geosciences is an international fully Open Access peer-reviewed journal and publishes original research and review articles, with a particular focus on the evolution of the Tethys realm and the Alpine/Himalayan orogen. By consolidating the former Eclogae Geologicae Helvetiae and Swiss Bulletin of Mineralogy and Petrology, this international journal covers all disciplines of the solid Earth Sciences, including their practical applications.

The journal gives preference to articles that are of wide interest to the international research community, while at the same time recognising the importance of documenting high-quality geoscientific data in a regional context, including the occasional publication of maps.

The Swiss Journal of Geosciences has editorial waivers available for outstanding contributions and review articles from researchers who lack funding for fully OA publication. Members of the Swiss Geological Society benefit from a reduced APC fee of EUR 800.

Swiss Journal of Palaeontology is an international fully Open Access peer-reviewed journal publishing original research and review articles of interest to the international community in the field of palaeontology. Manuscripts with palaeontological analyses comprising global data are equally welcome as such that document high-quality palaeontological data in a regional context. The diversity of published articles is reflected by the members of our editorial board.

We welcome contributions of all fields of palaeontology including alpha taxonomy & systematics, palaeobiology, palaeobiodiversity, palaeoenvironmemt, biostratigraphy, conservation palaeontology, palaeontological methodolgy, etc. including palaeontological studies employing up-to-date methods such as CT- or synchrotron-scanning, geochemical analyses and complex phylogenetic analyses.

Symbiosis publishes the results of original research contributing to the understanding of symbiotic interactions at the molecular, cellular and organismic levels. The journal is intended introduce new or unknown symbioses for research in symbiology. This wide-ranging approach is designed to encourage and enhance interaction among researchers in the various sectors of an intriguing and rapidly expanding field. Topics of particular interest include nutritional interactions; mutual regulatory and morphogenic effects; structural coadaptations; interspecific recognition and specificity; ecological adaptations; evolutionary consequences of symbiosis; culture and other specific methods used for symbiotic research. Symbiosis publishes accounts of original studies, review articles, book reviews, meeting reports and a calendar of events.

Systematic Parasitology publishes papers on the systematics, taxonomy and nomenclature of the following groups: Nematoda (including plant-parasitic), Monogenea, Digenea, Cestoda, Acanthocephala, Aspidogastrea, Cestodaria, Arthropoda (parasitic copepods, hymenopterans, mites, ticks, etc.), Protozoa (parasitic groups), and parasitic genera in other groups, such as Mollusca, Turbelleria, etc. Systematic Parasitology publishes fully illustrated research papers, brief communications, and fully illustrated major revisions. In order to maintain high standards, all contributors describing new taxa are asked to state clearly where the holotype is deposited and to make paratypes available for examination by the referees. It is recognized that, in some cases, this may cause problems for the authors, but it is hoped that by adhering to this rule authors may be protected against rapid synonymy of their taxa, and the types will be preserved for posterity. 5-Year Impact Factor: 1.053

Systematic Reviews encompasses all aspects of the design, conduct and reporting of systematic reviews. The journal aims to publish high quality systematic review products including systematic review protocols, systematic reviews related to a very broad definition of health, rapid reviews, updates of already completed systematic reviews, and methods research related to the science of systematic reviews, such as decision modeling. The journal also aims to ensure that the results of all well-conducted systematic reviews are published, regardless of their outcome.

Systemic Practice and Action Research (SPAR) is dedicated to critical systems thinking and its applications and building an understanding of the complexities of modern society. The journal examines the effects of technological advancement, including older technologies that continue to have profound effects on society today. Furthermore, the journal contributes to a rethinking of science as well as to the reflective application of systemic practice and action research in all types of organizational and social settings. Systems and Synthetic Biology is a new biomedical journal publishing original papers and articles on all aspects of Systems and Synthetic Biology.Systems Biology is an integrated approach to study collective behaviour of biological interactions. The grand challenge in Systems Biology is to connect molecular topography with physiological responses. Systems Biology field will realize its fullest potential once individual contributions are tied to variations in the system level behavior. Despite the major efforts made in oncology over the past ten years, only relatively modest improvements have been made in the conventional treatment of cancer. Recently, a better understanding of molecular pathways has provided pathologists with clues to the parthenogenesis of the disease and multiple targets for new strategies. New treatments, monoclonal antibodies or small molecules, have emerged targeting these pathways and inhibiting tumor growth and progression. These 'mabs' and 'nibs' constitute a new language with its own grammar that oncologists have to learn. Significant work remains in controlling theses processes and understanding these new compounds.
