Ostrich: Journal of African Ornithology is the leading ornithological journal in Africa, and publishes peer-reviewed scientific papers and short communications (<2,000 words) on all aspects of ornithology conducted in Africa and its associated islands and marine habitats. Contributions reporting on avian behaviour, breeding, conservation, demography, ecology, migration, morphology and systematics are welcome. Review articles are particularly encouraged. Extended taxonomic papers may be considered for publication particularly if they include relevant discussion of behavioural, ecological or biogeographic criteria. The journal also publishes book reviews. Articles published in Ostrich are expected to be of value to ornithologists, ecologists, conservationists and interested bird-watchers. Oxford Development Studies is a multidisciplinary academic journal aimed at the student, research and policy-making community, which provides a forum for rigorous and critical analysis of conventional theories and policy issues in all aspects of development, and aims to contribute to new approaches. It covers a number of disciplines related to development, including economics, history, politics, anthropology and sociology, and will publish quantitative papers as well as surveys of literature.Oxford Development Studies is a multidisciplinary journal. Oxford German Studies is a fully refereed journal, and publishes in English and German, aiming to present contributions from all countries and to represent as wide a range of topics and approaches throughout German studies as can be achieved. The thematic coverage of the journal continues to be based on an inclusive conception of German studies, centred on the study of German literature from the Middle Ages to the present, but extending a warm welcome to interdisciplinary and comparative topics, and to contributions from neighbouring areas such as language study and linguistics, history, philosophy, sociology, music, and art history. The editors are literary scholars, but seek advice from specialists in other areas as appropriate. OGS was founded in 1965 by Ernest Stahl, Peter Ganz, Malcolm Pasley, and Jim Reed to promote the study of German language and literature from the Middle Ages to the present day. At least one issue per volume is a collection of articles on a range of diverse subjects in the familiar format, and one is usually a themed issue addressing a particular subject, author, or period. The third issue varies between general and themed issues from year to year. .

The Oxford Review of Education is a well established journal with an extensive international readership. It is committed to deploying the resources of a wide range of academic disciplines in the service of educational scholarship, and the Editors welcome articles reporting significant new research as well as contributions of a more analytic or reflective nature. The membership of the editorial board reflects these emphases, which have remained characteristic of the Review since its foundation. PaleoAmerica disseminates new research results and ideas about early human dispersal and migrations, with a particular focus on the Americas. It fosters an interdisciplinary dialog between archaeologists, geneticists and other scientists investigating the dispersal of modern humans during the late Pleistocene.

The journal has three goals: First and foremost, the journal is a vehicle for the presentation of new research results. Second, it includes editorials on special topics written by leaders in the field. Third, the journal solicits essays covering current debates in the field, the state of research in relevant disciplines, and summaries of new research findings in a particular region, for example Beringia, the Eastern Seaboard or the Southern Cone of South America. Although the journal’s focus is the peopling of the Americas, editorials and research essays also highlight the investigation of early human colonization of empty lands in other areas of the world. As techniques are developing so rapidly, work in other regions can be very relevant to the Americas, so the journal will publish research relating to other regions which has relevance to research on the Americas.

Palestine Exploration Quarterly (PEQ) is the peer-reviewed journal of the Palestine Exploration Fund, which was established in 1865 as the first scholarly society dedicated to the scientific study of what was then generally known as the Holy Land. In 1869, the Fund through its Palestine Exploration Fund Quarterly Statement aimed to illuminate the Bible for its readers with scholarly information about the land of the Bible.PEQ is the Statement's successor and while it remains true to its original brief, it has greatly widened its scope. In spite of its historical title, PEQ is concerned not just with Palestine/the land of Israel, but with the wider region of the Levant - its history, archaeology (including biblical aspects), art, languages, natural and earth ethnology, geography and natural and earth sciences. Its contents include studies of pottery and other artefacts, examination and interpretation of archaeological sites, publications and studies of inscriptions and ancient texts, articles on the history of the Levant, and the publication of archives relating to the exploration of the Levant, together with reports on archaeological work supported by the Fund, and reviews of books. PEQ publishes the work of both established and rising scholars within the field.

Palynology is an international journal, and covers all aspects of the science. We accept papers on both pre-Quaternary and Quaternary palynology and palaeobotany. Contributions on novel uses of palynology, review articles, book reviews, taxonomic studies and papers on methodology are all actively encouraged. Fresh pollen from anthers were processed using acetolysis 2. infiltrated with 2,2'-thiodiethanol (TDE), a mounting medium for high-resolution microscopy 3. A 3-D image stack was acquired using an Olympus FV1000 laser scanning confocal microscope with a 100x/1.4 oil immersion objective (Excitation 488 nm, emission 500-600nm) 4. Imported the entire confocal stack into Osiri X 3D medical imaging software running on an iMac with 4GB of RAM. 5. Selected every fifth slice in the stack for rendering, in order to fit the stacks into the 4GB memory limit addressable by a 32-bit operating system 6. Perform 3D rendering using a color map optimized for bones and soft tissue 7. Papers in Applied Geography publishes three types of articles. Research articles consist of regular length journal articles that are scholarly contributions to the literature of applied geography. Technical notes are contributions to present new methods or improvement of existing methods in geography.

The editors invite submissions that emphasize the application of theories or concepts in geography in search of solutions to practical problems our society faces. They also welcome contributions to effective applications of models or analytical methods in geography to the understanding of geographic phenomena and their processes in space and over time.
