Founded in 1912, the Paläontologische Zeitschrift is one of the journals with the longest tradition in the field of palaeontology to be published by a professional palaeontological society, the Paläontologische Gesellschaft. The journal is dedicated to the promotion of palaeontology as a scientific discipline and publishes high-qualitiy research and review papers on all aspects of this field.
The Proceedings of the Geologists' Association is an international geoscience journal that was founded in 1859 and publishes research and review papers on all aspects of Earth Science. In particular, papers will focus on the geology of northwestern Europe and the Mediterranean, including both the onshore and offshore record. Following a long tradition, the PGA will focus on: i) a range of article types (see below) on topics of wide relevance to Earth Sciences ii) papers on aspects of Earth Science that have societal relevance including geoconservation and Earth management, iii) papers on palaeoenvironments and palaeontology of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic, iv) papers on aspects of Quaternary geology and climate change, and v) papers on the history of geology with particular reference to individuals that have shaped the subject. These topics will also steer the content of the themes of the Special Issues that are published in the PGA.Papers published in the PGA will take the form of Research papers and Review papers. In addition it will publish Viewpoints, which are aimed to provide authoritative views from Earth Scientists on topics of debate within our subject, Topical or Teaching Perspectives on subjects of current, or potentially future importance and are not necessarily research papers but are written in a manner that makes them particularly accessible to the general public and students, and Contexts, which are short papers giving the wider scientific context of a paper that is published in the same issue. Submissions of all these types of papers, within the scope and aims of the journal, are welcome. Rapid Communications are no longer appropriate as all papers are published rapidly, being available on Science Direct with a doi, as soon as the proof has been corrected.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. The Rivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia was founded in 1895. It publishes original papers dealing with all fields of paleontology and micropaleontology, stratigraphy, biostratigraphy and sedimentology, mostly from the Italian and Mediterranean region, but also from other Tethyan areas, like for example Central Asia and Himalaya. All papers are written in English since 1994 and are reviewed by international experts. The journal is currently indexed and abstracted by AGI, ISI, Current Contents, Georef, Geological Abstract and SciSearch. The Rivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia is published in three issues (one volume) each year in A4 format.
The Review of Palaeobotany and Palynology is an international journal for articles in all fields of palaeobotany and palynology dealing with all groups, ranging from marine palynomorphs to higher land plants. Original contributions and comprehensive review papers should appeal to an international audience. Typical topics include but are not restricted to systematics, evolution, palaeobiology, palaeoecology, biostratigraphy, biochronology, palaeoclimatology, paleogeography, taphonomy, palaeoenvironmental reconstructions, vegetation history, and practical applications of palaeobotany and palynology, e.g. in coal and petroleum geology and archaeology. The journal especially encourages the publication of articles in which palaeobotany and palynology are applied for solving fundamental geological and biological problems as well as innovative and interdisciplinary approaches.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Revue de micropaléontologie is one of five (5) journals in the world dedicated exclusively to microfossils, and one of the oldest journals in its discipline. Articles are concerned with a range of current topics in Paleobiology, Paleobiodiversity, Evolution, Systematics, Biostratigraphy and Paleoenvironmental reconstructions, especially those that allow linking the microfossil record to global climate and environmental change. The journal has become a key player in the establishment of biostratigraphy and of paleoenvironmental reconstructions as a fundamental tool in Earth Sciences, and especially in petroleum exploration and development.
Founded in 1982, the Russian Journal of Pacific Geology highlights problems of Earth sciences covering a vast region of the Pacific Ocean, marginal seas, and continental framing. The Asian-Pacific represents a unique junction of oceanic and continental plates, and distinctive mineral resources are: tin, gold, platinum, and oil and gas on the shelf. The Pacific Fire Ring of active volcanoes is the most hazardous part of the planet with high seismic activity and tsunami waves. The range of topics covered is diverse: paleontology and stratigraphy, geology of ore deposits, seismology and seismotectonics, geophysics and geodynamics, magmatism and metamorphism, geochemistry, petrology and geochronology, mineralogy and petrography, geomorphology and tectonics, geology of the seas and oceans floor, sedimentology, oil and gas geology, and more. The peer-reviewed journal also publishes critical notes and comments, reviews, chronicles of major events in scientific life, and bibliography.
Geological Correlation Series is published by the Institute of Geological Correlation (INSUGEO) CONICET / Faculty of Natural Sciences and Miguel Lillo Institute of the National University of Tucuman. Publishes original scientific papers that deal with all specialties in geological and paleontological subjects. Preferably, each volume will include work on a unified same subject or theme. The Geological Correlation is publised Series by the Institute of Geological Correlation (CONICET - National University of Tucumán) and the original Publishes articles on geology and paleontology. Each volume will unify preferently scientifc papers of a common subject or theme.
Stratigraphy (ISSN 1547-139X) is published online four times a year with optional printed copies. Subject area rantges across the the entire range of stratigraphic disciplines, with emphasis on applications of micropaleontology. Stratigraphy is the journal of record for the North American Commission on Stratigraphic Nomenclature (NACSN).
Stratigraphy and Geological Correlation (Stratigrafiya, Geologicheskaya Korrelyatsiya) is unique in offering comprehensive coverage of the fundamental and applied aspects of stratigraphy and the correlation of geological events and processes in time and space. Articles are based on the results of multidisciplinary research, and are directed toward researchers, university professors, students, and geologists interested in understanding stratigraphy and the chronological features of the world´s geological record.

Vegetation History and Archaeobotany publishes research papers, review articles and short contributions of high quality from Europe, the Americas and around the world. It covers the entire field of vegetation history, exploring the development of flora and vegetation during the Holocene (and also the Pleistocene) era, and includes related subjects such as palaeoecology. The journal places interest on human impact upon the natural environment in prehistoric and medieval times. This is reflected in pollen diagrams as well as in plant macroremains from archaeological contexts. Recent topics have included vegetation, fire and climate dynamics as indicated by pollen and charcoal analysis; preliminary results from a dendroecological study of a sub-fossil pine woodland in NW Germany; the significance of low pollen accumulation rates in estimation tree population, and more. The Editor-in-Chief is Felix Bittmann, Niedersächsisches Insitut für historische Küstenforschung, Wilhelmshaven, Germany.
