The impact of computers has nowhere been more revolutionary than in electrical engineering. The design, analysis, and operation of electrical and electronic systems are now dominated by computers, a transformation that has been motivated by the natural ease of interface between computers and electrical systems, and the promise of spectacular improvements in speed and efficiency.Published since 1973, Computers & Electrical Engineering provides rapid publication of topical research into the integration of computer technology and computational techniques with electrical and electronic systems. The journal publishes papers featuring novel implementations of computers and computational techniques in areas like signal and image processing, high-performance computing, parallel processing, and communications. Connection Science is an interdisciplinary scientific and technical journal that has, since 1989, been a focus for research on connectionist modelling and neural network learning in both living and artificial systems with an emphasis on cognition and AI. Papers on these traditional themes are still strongly encouraged. However, in 2002, in response to exciting new work in evolutionary methods and adaptive robotics, its scope was broadened to include computational research on all biologically inspired adaptive mechanisms as well as all areas of biologically inspired robotics research. Papers submitted to the journal may be of a practical nature including, but not restricted to, new adaptive methods, novel implementations of existing methods as well as empirical work that has a strong modelling or theoretical component in psychology, biology, neuroscience or biologically inspired robotics. Submissions may also be theoretical or philosophical. Review papers are welcomed and authors are encouraged to consult with the Editor-in-Chief if they are considering a submission. Control Engineering Practice strives to meet the needs of industrial practitioners and industrially related academics and researchers. It is normally expected that practical results should be included, but where simulation only studies are available, it is necessary to demonstrate that the simulation model is representative of a genuine industrial application. The Control Theory and Technology publishes high-quality papers on original, theoretical and experimental research and development in the area of systems and control, including all aspects of control theory and its applications. Its function is to provide a forum for domestic, as well as international, scientists and engineers in this field to exchange their knowledge and experiences. Articles for submission may be survey papers, or reviews on well established or newly emerging research topics, techniques, etc.; or regular papers which describe new well developed theoretical results or applications; or brief papers which present new techniques, concepts, perspectives, etc.

CrystEngComm is the forum for the design and understanding of crystalline materials. It publishes studies on the investigation of molecular behaviour within crystals, control of nucleation and crystal growth, engineering of crystal structures, and construction of crystalline materials with tuneable properties and functions. All papers should involve the use or development of a design or optimisation strategy.

This journal publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed papers on the modeling and control of discrete event dynamical systems (DEDS). It presents general theories and methodologies of DEDSs and their applications as well as discusses practical problems from which some generally applicable DEDS theories or methodologies can be formulated. The scope of the journal is defined by its emphasis on the modeling of discrete events by dynamic systems, and on problems of their control and optimization. Discrete Event Dynamic Systems covers all aspects of DEDS, including: theory and formal models (supervisory control, Petri-Nets, Min-Max-plus algebra, DEDS specification, or simulation formalisms), performance analysis, optimization, and optimal control (perturbation analysis, control synthesis, sample-path-based approaches, AI-based learning schemes, scalable solutions to large and complex systems), and applications (case studies and software engineering).

ESAIM: COCV publishes rapidly and efficiently papers and surveys in the areas of control, optimisation and calculus of variations. Articles may be theoretical,computational, or both, and they will cover contemporary subjects with impact on forefront technology, biosciences, materials science, computer vision, continuum physics, decision sciences and other allied disciplines.

Electronics (ISSN 2079-9292) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal on the science of electronics and its applications. It publishes reviews, research articles, short communications and letters. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. There is no restriction on the length of the papers. Full experimental and/or methodical details must be provided. There are, in addition, unique features of this journal: manuscripts regarding research proposals and research ideas will be particularly welcomed electronic files or software regarding the full details of the calculation and experimental procedure - if unable to be published in a normal way - can be deposited as supplementary material

Energy & Environmental Science is an international journal dedicated to publishing exceptionally important and high quality, agenda-setting research tackling the key global and societal challenges of ensuring the provision of energy and protecting our environment for the future. The scope is intentionally broad and the journal recognises the complexity of issues and challenges relating to energy conversion and storage, alternative fuel technologies and environmental science. For work to be published it must be linked to the energy-environment nexus and be of significant general interest to our community-spanning readership.
