Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation, a peer-reviewed international scientific journal, serves as an aid to understanding the flow properties of blood and the relationship to normal and abnormal physiology. The rapidly expanding science of hemorheology concerns blood, its components and the blood vessels with which blood interacts. It includes perihemorheology, i.e., the rheology of fluid and structures in the perivascular and interstitial spaces as well as the lymphatic system. The clinical aspects include pathogenesis, symptomatology and diagnostic methods, and the fields of prophylaxis and therapy in all branches of medicine and surgery, pharmacology and drug research. The endeavour of the Editors-in-Chief and publishers of Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation is to bring together contributions from those working in various fields related to blood flow all over the world. The editors of Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation are from those countries in Europe, Asia, Australia and America where appreciable work in clinical hemorheology and microcirculation is being carried out. Each editor takes responsibility to decide on the acceptance of a manuscript. He is required to have the manuscript appraised by two referees and may be one of them himself. The executive editorial office, to which the manuscripts have been submitted, is responsible for rapid handling of the reviewing process.Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation accepts original papers, brief communications, mini-reports and letters to the Editors-in-Chief. Review articles, providing general views and new insights into related subjects, are regularly invited by the Editors-in-Chief. Proceedings of international and national conferences on clinical hemorheology (in original form or as abstracts) complete the range of editorial features. The following professionals and institutions will benefit most from subscribing to Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation: medical practitioners in all fields including hematology, cardiology, geriatrics, angiology, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, otology, and neurology. Pharmacologists, clinical laboratories, blood transfusion centres, manufacturing firms producing diagnostic instruments, and the pharmaceutical industry will also benefit.Important new topics will increasingly claim more pages of Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation: the role of hemorheological and microcirculatory disturbances for epidemiology and prognosis, in particular regarding cardiovascular disorders, as well as its significance in the field of geriatrics. Authors and readers are invited to contact the editors for specific information or to make suggestions.
Clinical Research in Cardiology is an international journal for clinical cardiovascular research. It provides a forum for original and review articles as well as critical perspective articles. Articles are only accepted if they meet stringent scientific standards and have undergone peer review. The journal regularly receives articles from the field of clinical cardiology, angiology, as well as heart and vascular surgery. As the official journal of the German Cardiac Society, it gives a current and competent survey on the diagnosis and therapy of heart and vascular diseases. Supplemental issues are published in Clinical Research of Cardiology Supplements.
Congenital Heart Disease: Clinical Studies from Fetus to Adulthood is a new, clinical journal focusing on congenital heart disease in children and adults. Though the number of infants born with heart disease each year is relatively small (approximately 1% of the population), advances in the treatment of such malformations have led to increased life spans for this population. Consequently, in the United States today most patients treated for congenital heart disease are over the age of 20. What are the special needs of adults with congenital heart disease? What are the latest developments in the care of the fetus, infants, and children? Who should treat these patients? How should they be treated?.
Cor et Vasa, the journal of the Czech Society of Cardiology and Czech Society for Cardiovascular Surgery, publishes 6 times a year and covers all aspects of cardiology, angiology, cardiovascular surgery, cardiovascular imaging, pediatric cardiology, hypertension, cardiovascular prevention and some aspects of interventional radiology. It features editorials, review articles and original research as well as preliminary, fast-track and special communications (clinical and experimental). In 2012, Cor et Vasa began to publish short (5000 words) summaries from the European Society of Cardiology guidelines, with each being prepared by leading Czech experts in the field. The regular Cor et Vasa supplement "Kardio" publishes book reviews, abstracts and reports from selected congresses , polls, discussions, polemics, comments, as well as information from the Czech Society of Cardiology, Czech Society for Cardiovascular Surgery and the European Society of Cardiology. It also includes a variety of topical international news items. The journal publishes in two versions with the same content: one of which being the on-line version of Cor et Vasa which is published completely in English, whilst the other printed version is largely in Czech (the manuscripts from the English version are translated into Czech by local experts).
The journal welcomes reports of original research with a clinical emphasis, including observational studies, clinical trials, and advances in applied and basic laboratory research: the journal particularly welcomes important basic research that contributes to the understanding of coronary artery disease. Issues can contain an in-depth review on a major topic of current interest. These Reviews in Depth are prepared under the editorship of invited specialists, who commission a group of five to six leading workers in the field to contribute articles providing a concise yet in-depth overview of an aspect of the topic under review.
Critical Pathways in Cardiology, indexed in MEDLINE and PUBMED, provides a single source for the diagnostic and therapeutic protocols in use at hospitals worldwide for patients with cardiac disorders. The journal presents critical pathways for specific diagnoses8212;complete with evidence-based rationales8212;and also publishes studies of these protocols' effectiveness. Critical Pathways in Cardiology translates evidence into practice, giving clinicians the tools to determine the best, most cost-effective patient management plans. This peer-reviewed, quarterly journal provides the latest details of new diagnostic tests and treatments and updated critical pathways. Website: www.critpathcardio.com.
Current Atherosclerosis Reports provides in-depth review articles contributed by international experts on the most significant developments in the field. By presenting clear, insightful, balanced reviews that emphasize recently published papers of major importance, the journal elucidates current and emerging approaches to the diagnosis, treatment, management, and prevention of atherosclerosis.
The aim of this journal is to provide timely perspectives from experts on current advances in cardiovascular medicine. We also seek to provide reviews that highlight the most important recently published papers selected from the wealth of available cardiovascular literature.
We accomplish this aim by appointing key authorities in major subject areas across the discipline. Section editors select topics to be reviewed by leading experts who emphasize recent developments and highlight important papers published over the past year. An Editorial Board of internationally diverse members suggests topics of special interest to their country/region and ensures that topics are current and include emerging research. We also provide commentaries from well-known figures in the field.
Current Cardiology Reviews publishes frontier reviews of high quality on all the latest advances on the practical and clinical approach to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. All relevant areas are covered by the journal including arrhythmia, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease, drugs, methodology, pacing, and preventive cardiology. The journal is essential reading for all researchers and clinicians in cardiology.
