Cellular and Molecular Gastroenterology and Hepatology

eISSN: 2352-345X
DOAJ Logo
CMGH is the newest peer-reviewed journal published by the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), joining Gastroenterology and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The mission of CMGH is to publish impactful digestive biology research that ranges from mechanisms of normal function to pathobiology and covers a broad spectrum of themes in gastroenterology, hepatology, and pancreatology. The journal reports the latest advances in cell biology, immunology, physiology, microbiology, genetics, and neurobiology of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and pancreatic health and disease. The research CMGH publishes is hypothesis driven, mechanistically novel, and appropriately designed and powered. Studies published in CMGH address important questions using tissues or cells from patients or animal models in order to make fundamental discoveries and translate them to human disease.

In an effort to distribute its content to the widest audience possible, CMGH is an open access, all-digital journal. We will maximize our digital platform by including graphical abstracts, animated illustrations, large data sets, and video microscopy, endoscopy, and whole animal imaging approaches. Initially, CMGH will be a bi-monthly publication, moving to a monthly publication in its second year. CMGH will debut its first issue in January 2015. Our editors will rapidly and fairly review submissions with the assistance of an expert editorial board and external reviews. Following rigorous peer review, accepted manuscripts will be published online within days of the final decision.

CMGH is led by Jerrold R. Turner, MD, PhD, AGAF (The University of Chicago) and Associate Editors James R. Goldenring, MD, PhD, AGAF (Vanderbilt University School of Medicine) and Rebecca G. Wells, MD (University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine). For more information about their experience and areas of research, read their biosketches on the http://cmghjournal.org/content/board-of-editors-biosBoard of Editors page.

Drs. Turner, Goldenring, and Wells will also draw from the vast experience of their advisory committee, which is composed of AGA president and past editor-in-chief of Gastroenterology Anil K. Rustgi, MD, AGAF, AGA past-president Mark Donowitz, MD, AGAF, AGA vice president and past editor-in-chief of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Michael Camilleri, MD, AGAF, current editor-in-chief of Gastroenterology, Bishr Omary, PhD, MD, AASLD past president James Boyer, MD, and accomplished investigator and Outstanding AGA Women in Science inductee Susan Henning, PhD, AGAF.

CMGH is open for submissions on June 1, 2014. Submit your manuscript at www.editorialmanager.com/cmghwww.editorialmanager.com/cmgh.
