Journal of Youth and Adolescence provides a single, high-level medium of communication for psychologists, psychiatrists, biologists, criminologists, educators, and professionals in many other allied disciplines who address the subject of youth and adolescence. The journal publishes papers based on experimental evidence and data, theoretical papers, and comprehensive review articles. The journal especially welcomes empirically rigorous papers that take policy implications seriously. Research need not have been designed to address policy needs, but manuscripts must address implications for the manner society formally (e.g., through laws, policies or regulations) or informally (e.g., through parents, peers, and social institutions) responds to the period of youth and adolescence.

The Journal of the Learning Sciences provides a multidisciplinary forum for the presentation of research on learning and education. The journal seeks to foster new ways of thinking about learning that will allow our understanding of cognition and social cognition to have impact in education. It publishes research articles that advance our understanding of learning in real-world situations and of promoting learning in such venues, including articles that report on the roles of technology can play in promoting deep and lasting learning. The Journal of the Learning Sciences promotes engaging and thoughtful participation in learning activities, and articles reporting on new methodologies that enable rigorous investigation of learning in real-world situations.

Learning Environments Research publishes original academic papers dealing with the study of learning environments, including theoretical reflections, reports of quantitative and qualitative research, critical and integrative literature reviews and meta-analyses, discussion of methodological issues, reports of the development and validation of assessment instruments, and reviews of books and evaluation instruments.

The scope of the journal deliberately is very broad in terms of both substance and methods. `Learning environment' refers to the social, physical, psychological and pedagogical contexts in which learning occurs and which affect student achievement and attitudes. The aim of the journal is to increase our understanding of pre-primary, primary, high school, college and university, and lifelong learning environments irrespective of subject area. Apart from classroom-level and school-level environments, special attention is given to the many out-of-school learning environments such as the home, science centres, and television, etc. The influence of the rapidly developing field of Information Technology with its whole new range of learning environments is an important aspect of the scope of the journal.

A wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for studying learning enviromnents, and the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, are strongly encouraged.

The journal has an affiliation with the American Educational Research Association's Special Interest Group on the Study of Learning Environments. However, having Regional Editors and an Editorial Board from around the world ensures that LER is a truly international journal.

Learning and Motivation features original experimental research devoted to the analysis of basic phenomena and mechanisms of learning, memory, and motivation. These studies, involving either animal or human subjects, examine behavioral, biological, and evolutionary influences on the learning and motivation processes, and often report on an integrated series of experiments that advance knowledge in this field. The international mathematics education community is maturing at a rapid and exciting rate. Although this community has developed its own research perspectives and theoretical frameworks, it continues to expand its horizons by drawing upon new theories and research in mathematics, psychology, sociology, philosophy, anthropology, and information technology. Mind, Culture, and Activity (MCA) is an interdisciplinary, international journal devoted to the study of the human mind in its cultural and historical contexts. Articles appearing in MCA draw upon research and theory in a variety of disciplines, including anthropology, cognitive science, education, linguistics, psychology, and sociology. Particular emphasis is placed upon research that seeks to resolve methodological problems associated with the analysis of human action in everyday activities and theoretical approaches that place culture and activity at the center of attempts to understand human nature.MCA is organized into four distinct sections; the relative weights of each will change somewhat from issue to issue. Section 1 features articles of general theoretical or empirical importance that go through a regular peer review process. Section 2 includes symposia that are built around a central article or book addressing important theoretical themes.
