Slovo is a fully refereed, twice-yearly journal, edited and managed by postgraduates of the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies. This journal aims to discuss and interpret Russian, Eurasian, Central and East European affairs, covering the fields of anthropology, economics, film, geography, history, international studies, linguistics, literature, media, politics and sociology. Slovo has presented postgraduates with what has in many cases been their first publishing opportunity. It is a refereed journal in which they have been able to present their ideas and research alongside that of members of staff. Fully managed by the postgraduate community, this has meant that students have from time to time refereed the work of their own teachers! From its humble beginnings (the first edition appeared as a slim volume in May 1988 and included contributions from staff members Julian Graffy, Geoffrey Hosking and George Schöpflin) Slovo has gone from strength to strength culminating in the presentation of a special edition following the first annual postgraduate conference, held biennially at SSEES.

Small Wars & Insurgencies is directed at providing a forum for the discussion of the historical, political, social, economic and psychological aspects of insurgency, counter-insurgency, limited war, peacekeeping operations and the use of force as an instrument of policy. Including an authoritative review section, its aim is to provide an outlet for historians, political scientists, policy makers and practitioners to discuss and debate theoretical and practical issues related to the past, present and future of this important area of both international and domestic relations. Social & Legal Studies is a leading international journal, publishing progressive, interdisciplinary and critical approaches to socio-legal study. Published quarterly, the journal is committed to feminist, post-colonial and socialist economic perspectives to the study of law.

Social Choice and Welfare explores all aspects, both normative and positive, of welfare economics, collective choice, and strategic interaction. Topics include but are not limited to: preference aggregation, welfare criteria, fairness, justice and equity, rights, inequality and poverty measurement, voting and elections, political games, coalition formation, public goods, mechanism design, networks, matching, optimal taxation, cost-benefit analysis, and experimental investigations related to social choice and voting. As such, the journal is inter-disciplinary and cuts across the boundaries of economics, political science, philosophy, and mathematics. Social Compass is a fully peer reviewed international journal that publishes original research and review articles on the sociology of religion. It aims to reflect the wide variety of research being carried out by sociologists of religion in all countries. Part of each issue consists of invited articles on a particular theme; for the unthemed part of the journal, articles will be considered on any topic that bears upon religion in contemporary societies.

Social Currents, the official journal of the Southern Sociological Society, is a broad-ranging social science journal that focuses on cutting-edge research from all methodological and theoretical orientations with implications for national and international sociological communities. Social Dynamics is the journal of the Centre for African Studies at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. It has been published since 1975, and is committed to advancing interdisciplinary academic research, fostering debate and addressing current issues pertaining to the African continent. Articles cover the full range of humanities and social sciences including anthropology, archaeology, economics, education, history, literary and language studies, music, politics, psychology and sociology. Social Dynamics is a peer-reviewed journal that runs themed symposia and publishes general papers across three issues per year. SEJ is the first journal to focus specifically on the social enterprise aspect of entrepreneurial activity. It encourages interdisciplinary and critical studies of social enterprise to deepen our understanding of social enterprise and social entrepreneurship.

Social Epistemology provides a forum for philosophical and social scientific enquiry that incorporates the work of scholars from a variety of disciplines who share a concern with the production, assessment and validation of knowledge. The journal covers both empirical research into the origination and transmission of knowledge and normative considerations which arise as such research is implemented, serving as a guide for directing contemporary knowledge enterprises. Founded in 1922, Social Forces is a renowned journal of sociological research associated with the Southern Sociological Society. It highlights sociological inquiry but also explores realms shared with social psychology, anthropology, political science, history, and economics. Each issue usually includes ten to fourteen articles, twenty to twenty-five full book reviews, and five to ten "take note" reviews. Founded in 1968, Histoire sociale - Social History has become a leading publication in socio-historical research. Hs-SH publishes articles, research notes, book reviews, and other material that contribute to social history in Canada and elsewhere. The journal is interested in all types of social phenomena - cultural, political, economic, or demographic - without methodological, temporal or geographic restrictions. The journal gives priority to studies that explicitly integrate different subfields of social history and are innovative in sources, method or interpretation.

Recent years have witnessed considerable worldwide changes concerning social identities such as race, nation and ethnicity, as well as the emergence of new forms of racism and nationalism as discriminatory exclusions. Social Identities aims to furnish an interdisciplinary and international focal point for theorizing issues at the interface of social identities. The journal is especially concerned to address these issues in the context of the transforming political economies and cultures of postmodern and postcolonial conditions. Social Identities is intended as a forum for contesting ideas and debates concerning the formations of, and transformations in, socially significant identities, their attendant forms of material exclusion and power, as well as the political and cultural possibilities opened up by these identifications.
