Change,  which is published six times a year, is a magazine dealing with contemporary issues in higher education. It is intended to stimulate and inform reflective practitioners in colleges, universities, foundations, government, and elsewhere. Using a magazine format rather than that of an academic journal, Change spotlights trends; provides new insights and ideas; and analyzes the implications of educational programs, policies, and practices.

Over the past few years, the magazine has included articles on the assessment of student learning and engagement, MOOCs and other developments in online education, international higher education, the use of social media in teaching and learning, competency-based credentialing, effective educational practices, learning styles and the insights gleaned from the learning sciences, the college completion agenda, state performance initiatives, and interstate cooperation on licensing out-of-state providers, among others. It features the voices of students describing their college experiences and of faculty about their teaching practices, as well as the perspectives of higher education leaders on important current issues. It includes, as well, descriptions of books worth reading, data analyses, and historical perspectives on current issues.

Change is intended for leaders in colleges and universities, as well as those in other settings who have a stake in higher education. These include faculty, administrators, trustees, state and federal officials, foundation officers, students, and many others.

Critical Studies in Education

ISSN: 1750-8487eISSN: 1750-8495

Critical Studies in Education is one of the few international journals that is solely devoted to a critical sociology of education. Two questions frame the journal's critical approach to research: (1) whose interests are served by current social arrangements in education and, (2) from the standpoint of the least advantaged, what can be done about inequitable arrangements? Informed by this approach, articles published in the journal draw on post-structural, feminist, postcolonial and other critical orientations to critique education systems and to identify alternatives for education policy, practice and research. The journal welcomes submissions of the highest quality and importance, which make original theoretical and/or empirical contributions, and are aimed at moving the field forward. Submissions may be focused on education policy and/or practice (including pedagogy) across formal education contexts (e.g. schooling, vocational and further education, higher education) as well as informal settings (e.g. television, communities, the internet). Submissions typically focus on power relations associated with gender, class (/poverty), ethnicity and the reproduction of disadvantage. Submissions and Review ProcessThe submissions and review process is managed online using ScholarOne. All submissions undergo rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two anonymous referees. Articles are published in English. Authors are required to provide informative titles, descriptive abstracts and five to ten keywords per article. Journal for Cultural Research

ISSN: 1479-7585eISSN: 1740-1666

Journal for Cultural Research is an international journal, based in Lancaster University's Institute for Cultural Research. It is interested in essays concerned with the conjuncture between culture and the many domains and practices in relation to which it is usually defined, including, for example, media, politics, technology, economics, society, art and the sacred.Culture is no longer, if it ever was, singular. It denotes a shifting multiplicity of signifying practices and value systems that provide a potentially infinite resource of academic critique, investigation and ethnographic or market research into cultural difference, cultural autonomy, cultural emancipation and the cultural aspects of power. As such, culture has itself become, in many areas, a primary instrument of government and thus the desire not to be governed is impelled to think culture differently from the accepted forms of cultural identity and recognition. In the academy, research has become a defining feature of the cultural just as the cultural has become indistinguishable from questions concerning the governable. The journal publishes original essays by established and emerging writers around the globe who are developing the future of cultural theory and research in the 21st century. We encourage writing that explores every aspect of cultural experience, experiences that occur in the correlation between fields of knowledge, types of normativity, and forms of subjectivity in different domains and locations around the world.Peer Review Policy:All review papers in this journal have undergone editorial screening and peer review. Social History

ISSN: 0307-1022eISSN: 1470-1200

For more than thirty years, Social History has published scholarly work of consistently high quality, without restrictions of period or geography. Social History is now minded to develop further the scope of the journal in content and to seek further experiment in terms of format. The editorial object remains unchanged - to enable discussion, to provoke argument, and to create space for criticism and scholarship. In recent years the content of Social History has expanded to include a good deal more European and American work as well as, increasingly, work from and about Africa, South Asia and Latin America. In the main, the bulk of this work has taken traditional form - that is, the shape of the scholarly article has determined the form of presentation, its narrative styles and its footnote apparatus. In some circumstances this format can constrain originality, at the worst, or, maybe less bad, it serves to limit conceptual or theoretical risk. We do not wish to argue here that the tradition is without merit. Far from it. Yet we do not judge it appropriate for all purposes. On the contrary, Social History will also welcome work which, rather than reproducing past practices, seeks innovation in focus and presentation. The ways of doing this are manifold: unexpected comparisons crossing continents; analyses led explicitly by theory; lucid appropriations of other disciplines; short, critical reviews of the field's unchallenged assumptions. All these have appeared in recent submissions to Social History , and they are all welcome. They do not, of course, exhaust the innovative possibilities. It would be too strong to say that Social History seeks to establish an entirely new 'voice'. Yet we would like to modify the old one significantly to provide a new openness of debate as well as space for scholarly takers of conceptual risk. If you think you've got something new to say, then let us know about it long before it has been worked into the exquisite disciplines of traditional practice.

Comparative European Politics

ISSN: 1472-4790eISSN: 1740-388X

Comparative European Politics (CEP) arises out of a unique editorial partnership linking political scientists in Europe and North America. CEP defines its scope broadly to include the comparative politics and political economy of the whole of contemporary Europe within and beyond the European Union, the processes of European integration and enlargement and the place of Europe and European states within international/global political and economic dynamics. As the most regionally integrated political and economic space within the global system, Europe presents a particular opportunity to political scientists to explore the dynamic relationship between transnational, international and domestic processes and practices. The editors welcome original theoretical, empirical and theoretically-informed pieces which deal with these relationships. Such issues pose awkward questions about the limitations of existing disciplinary perspectives and theoretical conventions, requiring theoretical and methodological innovation and an ability to develop genuinely interdisciplinary approaches. CEP aims to publish exceptional work prepared to rise to this challenge. The journal is rigorously peer-reviewed. It neither reflects nor represents any particular school or approach, nor does it restrict itself to particular methodologies or theoretical perspectives. Rather, whilst promoting interdisciplinarity and a greater dialogue between the various sub-disciplines of European political analysis, Comparative European Politics publishes the best and most original work in the field. It publishes substantial articles marking either core empirical developments, theoretical innovation or, preferably, both. The journal particularly encourages pieces which seek to develop the link between substantive empirical investigations and theoretical elaboration and those which transcend the artificial separation of domestic, comparative and international analysis. The editors publish a limited number of debate pieces and review articles related to issues of contemporary theoretical and empirical controversy. Whether solicited or unsolicited these are exposed to the same exacting process of peer review.

Corporate Governance: An International Review

ISSN: 0964-8410eISSN: 1467-8683

The mission of Corporate Governance: An International Review is to publish cutting-edge international business research on the phenomena of comparative corporate governance throughout the global economy. Our ultimate goal is a rigorous and relevant global theory of corporate governance. We define corporate governance broadly as the exercise of power over corporate entities so as to increase the value provided to the organization's various stakeholders, as well as making those stakeholders accountable for acting responsibly with regard to the protection, generation, and distribution of wealth invested in the firm. Because of this broad conceptualization, a wide variety of academic disciplines can contribute to our understanding, and we do not limit our perspective to any one theory or methodological paradigm. Previous theory and research has been published by scholars operating from such base disciplines as accounting, economics, finance, law, management, sociology, and political science. In other words, we seek to learn about both the antecedents and effects of corporate governance practices, policies, and principles throughout the world from an interdisciplinary 'conversation'. Authors should strive to produce original, insightful, and interesting theory and research to build on previous corporate governance research or redirect research into entirely new areas, so that we move closer to a parsimonious, accurate and generalizable global theory of corporate governance. All submissions are comprehensively refereed using two or more anonymous reviewers who do not know the names or the affiliations of the submitting author(s). We see reviewing as a developmental process that aims at improving the quality of individual papers. We seek to be the publication outlet of choice for all scholars interested in reading about and publishing research on international aspects of corporate governance, as well as the knowledge center for consultants, practitioners and public policy makers engaged with corporate governance throughout the world.

International Advances in Economic Research

ISSN: 1083-0898eISSN: 1573-966X

International Advances in Economic Research (IAER) was established to promote the dissemination of economic and financial research within the international community. Founded in 1995 by the International Atlantic Economic Society, a need was identified to provide the latest research on today's economic policies and tomorrow's economic and financial conditions. Economists can no longer be concerned with professional developments only in their home country. Research by scholars in one country can easily have implications for other countries, yet often vital results are not shared. Economic restructuring in a shrinking world demands close analysis and careful interpretation. In IAER, authors from around the globe look at these issues, coming together in the cross-fertilization of multinational ideas. The journal provides economists, financial specialists, and scholars in related disciplines with much-needed opportunities to share their insights with worldwide colleagues. Policy-oriented, empirical, and theoretical research papers in all economic and financial areas are welcome, without regard to methodological preferences or school of thought. All manuscripts are submitted to a double-blind, peer review process. In addition to formal publication of full-length articles, IAER provides an opportunity for less formal communication through its Research Notes section. A small point may not be worthy of a full-length, formal paper but is important enough to warrant dissemination to other researchers. Research in progress may be of interest to other scholars in the field. A research approach ending in negative results needs to be shared to save others similar pitfalls. Research Notes has been established to facilitate this form of communication. The section provides a means by which short manuscripts of less than 200 words can quickly appear in IAER. The review process for these shorter manu, scripts is usually completed within 30 days. Officially cited as: Int Adv Econ Res
