Cities: The International Journal of Urban Policy and Planning

ISSN: 0264-2751eISSN: 1873-6084
Cities publishes articles on many aspects of urban planning and policy. It distinguishes itself by providing an international and interdisciplinary platform for the exchange of ideas and information among urban planners, policy makers and analysts, and urbanists from all disciplines.

The primary aims of the journal are to analyze and assess past and present urban development and management as a reflection of effective, ineffective and non-existent planning policies; and the promotion of the implementation of appropriate urban policies in both the developed and the developing world.

Topics covered include: urban adaptation to climate change; gentrification and housing; homelessness and welfare services; urban management; public-private sector cooperation; development and planning problems; urban regeneration; neighborhood conservation and urban design; immigration and international labor migration; urban politics; urban theory; urban governance; smart cities and regions; infrastructure; livability and quality of life; greening; and the complexities of creating sustainable cities.

Every year, we also publish a handful of Viewpoints. These are articles that are shorter in nature, summative in their literature review, and offer a particular argument that could potentially generate debates among scholars and practitioners.

Each volume also features one or more City Profiles. Coverage includes a brief description of the city's historical development, an account of contemporary conditions, problems or issues, and a critical review of recent or current policy, planning or management responses.

Full details of Cities' accepted manuscript types, topics, word limits and editorial policies, as well as topics we do not accept, can be found in the http://www.journals.elsevier.com/cities/policies-and-guidelines/cities-acceptance-policy-guidelines/Cities Acceptance Policy on the journal's website.

Journal of Management and Governance

ISSN: 1385-3457eISSN: 1572-963X

The Journal of Management and Governance (JMG) is an international journal dedicated to advancing the understanding of corporate governance issues within and throughout privately-held firms, publicly-held corporations and government-controlled organizations. The journal is devoted to exploring the links between management and governance through both theoretical analyses and empirical investigations to improve the understanding of all the rules, codes, principles, practices, processes, mechanisms, structure and relationships, as well as institutions, networks and individuals affecting the way firms and organizations are managed, administered and controlled. Since corporate governance is a multi-faceted subject, the journal aims to analyze a broad spectrum of topics and issues related to the management and governance of firms and organizations: strategies and decision-making: accounting, reporting and information control: measurement issues in governance: relational, cognitive and behavioural based: institutional economics. JMG intends to act as an arena of scientific debate within and among academic and professional networks of researchers with a strong interest in investigating how knowledge, preferences and performance are formed and how they influence governance and management practices and policies. Contributions from all areas of business administration (accounting and control, general and strategic management, organizational theory and behaviour, finance and banking) and manuscripts concerning both the private and the public sectors are welcome to the extent that they contribute to these general issues and to the understanding of governance thus broadly defined. JMG is international in authorship and editorship. It follows the internationally shared norms of blind review and research quality standards, but it distinctively and deliberately adheres to a constructive rather than destructive review process approach. The j, ournal has various paper formats and methods. Any research strategy is recognised, as long as it effectively addresses the issue at hand and rigorously adheres to the methodology adopted, in survey research or simulation, a case study or a statistical analysis. Policy Studies

ISSN: 0144-2872eISSN: 1470-1006

The world of public policy has become an increasingly small one as a consequence of dramatic changes to global political and economic institutional structures and to nation states themselves. These changes at the structural level of the global system have impacted upon the work of public organizations either directly or indirectly and have broadened the field of action in policy studies. Policy Studies explores the implications of these changes for both the study and the practice of policy-making. It has five main areas of intellectual interest:To broaden the lens of policy analysis through the publication of research which locates policy-making within a theoretical, historical or comparative perspective. To widen the field of enquiry in policy analysis through the publication of research that examines policy issues in a British, comparative, international or global context. To promote constructive debate on theoretical, methodological and empirical issues in policy analysis. To encourage greater interaction between the world of academia and the world of practice through the encouragement of articles from practitioners and academics with real practical significance. To stay apace with developments in the international field of action through the publication of country reports on administrative developments. We therefore encourage the submission of articles in these areas in order to provide a forum for the theoretical and practical discussion of public policy-making.Policy Studies, is a multi-disciplinary journal which attempts to strike an important balance in the production of descriptive, explanatory and evaluative policy oriented research.Peer Review Policy:All the articles in this journal have undergone editorial screening and peer review.
