Marine Biology Research

ISSN: 1745-1000eISSN: 1745-1019

Marine Biology Research is the result of a successful merger of two well respected journals in the field of Marine Biology: Sarsia, North Atlantic Marine Science (published by Taylor & Francis in collaboration with the University of Bergen and the Institute of Marine Research, Norway) and Ophelia, International Journal of Marine Biology (published by Marine Biological Laboratory in collaboration with Freshwater Biological Laboratory, both University of Copenhagen). Sarsia and Ophelia were both established in the 1960's and have both become well respected international journals presenting original research on all aspects of oceanography and marine biology, Sarsia giving particular emphasis to results from Nordic and North Atlantic environments. Marine Biology Research has continued with similar aims and scopes in addition to presenting invited reviews and thematic issues on selected research topics to subscribers in over 40 different countries. Marine Biology Research aims to provide practitioners and academics with a forum for ideas and discussion on all areas of marine biology and oceanography. The Journal will cover a broad range of topics, including: * Ecology * Behaviour * Benthic dynamics * Biodiversity * Biogeography * Coastal and Oceanic habitats * Ecosystem functioning * Evolution * Phylogeny * Physiology * Taxonomy Applied aspects (environment, fisheries) of marine biological research, which contribute to general biological insight, will also be covered. Rapid Online Publication Marine Biology Research now offers faster publication for its authors. With our Build Issue service, articles are entered straight into the online issue as soon as possible upon receipt of the corrected proofs. Articles thereby receive final page numbers at a far earlier stage in the publication process. We anticipate that this rapid production service will allow top-end research to reach its audiences even sooner, without compromising the peer-review process and whilst continuing to ensure our commitment to publishing research of the highest quality. Call for Papers The editors welcome original research papers on all aspects of marine biology and applied aspects. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/mbr. Contributions are accepted from around the world and will be directed at a highly international audience. Disclaimer The Institute of Marine Research and Taylor & Francis make every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the 'Content') contained in its publications. However, the Society and Taylor & Francis and its agents and licensors make no representations or warranties whatsoever as to the accuracy, completeness or suitability for any purpose of the Content and disclaim all such representations and warranties whether express or implied to the maximum extent permitted by law. Temperature

ISSN: 2332-8940eISSN: 2332-8959

Aims & Scope: Temperature is a unique peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal with an international audience. It welcomes research papers broadly related to interactions between living matter and temperature. The journal’s logo is: “Temperature is life.” While the primary focus is on the biological and medical physiology of body temperature regulation, research in all scientific disciplines and at all levels of organization — from submolecular to biospheric — is of interest to the journal. If your paper deals with both temperature and life, it belongs in Temperature!

Vision: Our vision for this journal is explained in the inaugural Editorial: http://www.tandfonline.com/toc/ktmp20/1/1

Journal Features
  • Temperature maintains the most authoritative Editorial Board that attracts the best research to the journal and provides expert peer review.
  • Temperature publishes a wide variety of types of articles and is happy to accommodate almost any research paper format.
  • A manuscript rejected by a leading multidisciplinary journal or a leading specific-field journal may be submitted to Temperature with the rejection letter from that journal accompanied by all reviewers’ reports. This may allow Temperature to consider the already peer-reviewed manuscript without sending it for additional review.
  • Temperature has a special article type, called Challenge, designed for publishing paradigm-shifting research. Challenge articles dispute consensus views. They can be both original-research reports and reviews. Such “the-earth-is-round!” articles are typically rejected by anonymous reviewers who defend “the-earth-is-flat!” consensus views. Temperature intends to identify Challenge articles early during the peer-review process and - instead of rejecting them - to publish them and to subject them to additional, rigorous post-publication peer-review. Multiple Letters to Editor from the leading experts in the field will be invited. Temperature's credo is to promote scientific discussion and dispute. Any scientific model can be further improved (changed) by challenging current consensus views. Maybe the earth is round indeed!
  • Temperature has a special content type, Teaching Slide, allowing professors who teach temperature-related sciences to disseminate their creative work and receive full credit for it. Many universities treat funding-generating faculty members as first-class citizens, while faculty members dedicated to performing the main function of any university — teaching — are often treated as second-class citizens. Temperature has a different position. It is open to teachers and let them use the journal pages for teaching. Teaching Slides will always be free to authors and will always be published with immediate open access.
  • Due to the high concentration of temperature-related research in a single journal, your article will be noticed by colleagues and competitors immediately. The best research published by Temperature will be commented upon and discussed on our pages.
  • Temperature's goal is to become the world’s premier journal for thermal biology, thermal medicine, and other temperature-related sciences.
  • Temperature is published both online and in the traditional (paper) print format.
  • Currently, all Temperature articles receive immediate open access.
  • Currently, all publications in Temperature are free to authors. No submission charges. No page charges. No color charges for figures published online. No color charges for figures published in print. No open-access charges.
  • Temperature offers several Awards for the best research published in this journal. The winning research will be featured in future issues. Four awards are currently available for articles published in the first three issues.

Topics
  • Between life and death: torpor, hibernation, and suspended animation
  • Biometeorology and thermal biology

“Real science is that which is for the whole world, and thus, if we want to be real scientists and – as is apt – good Hungarians, we have to raise the standard of science so high that it becomes visible even outside of our homeland and in turn is duly revered.” Eötvös Loránd – President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1899–1905) Akadémiai Kiadó, founded in 1828 by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, is Hungary’s oldest continuously operating publishing house. Our mission is to promote Hungarian and international science, that is, to publish the new discoveries in various areas of science, to effectively support information exchange amongst scientists on a global level, and to make scientific results a public property available for all who seek valuable and reliable knowledge. Our traditions oblige us. Our aim is to become the most significant scientific publishing house of Central and Eastern-Europe whilst maintaining excellent quality, further improving our important scientific and business partnerships, creating scientific, economic and social values and keeping ahead the revolution in communication technology that is reshaping the publishing industry. Econometrica

ISSN: 0012-9682eISSN: 1468-0262

Econometrica publishes original articles in all branches of economics - theoretical and empirical, abstract and applied, providing wide-ranging coverage across the subject area. It promotes studies that aim at the unification of the theoretical-quantitative and the empirical-quantitative approach to economic problems and that are penetrated by constructive and rigorous thinking. It explores a unique range of topics each year - from the frontier of theoretical developments in many new and important areas, to research on current and applied economic problems, to methodologically innovative, theoretical and applied studies in econometrics. Econometrica maintains a long tradition that submitted articles are refereed carefully and that detailed and thoughtful referee reports are provided to the author as an aid to scientific research, thus ensuring the high calibre of papers found in Econometrica. An international board of editors, together with the referees it has selected, has succeeded in substantially reducing editorial turnaround time, thereby encouraging submissions of the highest quality. We strongly encourage recent Ph. D. graduates to submit their work to Econometrica. Our policy is to take into account the fact that recent graduates are less experienced in the process of writing and submitting papers.
