Review of Derivatives Research

ISSN: 1380-6645eISSN: 1573-7144

The proliferation of derivative assets during the past two decades is unprecedented. With this growth in derivatives comes the need for financial institutions, institutional investors, and corporations to use sophisticated quantitative techniques to take full advantage of the spectrum of these new financial instruments. Academic research has significantly contributed to our understanding of derivative assets and markets. The growth of derivative asset markets has been accompanied by a commensurate growth in the volume of scientific research. The rapid growth of derivatives research combined with the current absence of a rigorous research journal catering to the area of derivatives, and the long lead-times in the existing academic journals, underlines the need for Review of Derivatives Research, which provides an international forum for researchers involved in the general areas of derivative assets. The Review publishes high quality articles dealing with the pricing and hedging of derivative assets on any underlying asset (commodity, interest rate, currency, equity, real estate, traded or non-traded, etc.). Specific topics include but are not limited to: econometric analyses of derivative markets (efficiency, anomalies, performance, etc.) analysis of swap markets market microstructure and volatility issues regulatory and taxation issues credit risk new areas of applications such as corporate finance (capital budgeting, debt innovations), international trade (tariffs and quotas), banking and insurance (embedded options, asset-liability management) risk-sharing issues and the design of optimal derivative securities risk management, management and control valuation and analysis of the options embedded in capital projects valuation and hedging of exotic options new areas for further development (i.e. natural resources, environmental economics. The Review has a double-blind refereeing proces, s. In contrast to the delays in the decision making and publication processes of many current journals, the Review will provide authors with an initial decision within nine weeks of receipt of the manuscript and a goal of publication within six months after acceptance. Finally, a section of the journal is available for rapid publication on `hot' issues in the market, small technical pieces, and timely essays related to pending legislation and policy. ACM Transactions on Embedded Computing Systems

ISSN: 1539-9087eISSN: 1558-3465

A special issue serves several purposes: it provides a well-defined location for papers that relate to a common theme; it can serve as a catalyst for an emerging field by providing that highly-visible forum for the topic; and it encourages authors to submit high-quality work by providing them with a focused review process and publication schedule. TECS is committed to providing adequate space to regular submissions to the transactions, but TECS is also happy to provide room for special issues of interest to the embedded systems community.A special issue may be instigated by the TECS editorial staff or may be proposed by potential guest editor(s). The special issue associate editor works with the TECS editorial staff to refine the special issue's call for papers and set a timetable for submission and review. The call for papers is then publicized through a variety of mechanisms: notices in TECS and other publications, Web sites, flyers at conferences etc.Authors submit their special issue contributions to the TECS Web site. Authors must be sure to use the Web site's mechanism to mark the contribution as a special issue submission; as a safety measure, authors should also put the special issue name on the first page of the submission.Submissions to the special issue must be accepted on the first round of review; the special issue associate editor may request minor changes to the paper before publication. Since journal articles typically go through two rounds of review before publication, the special issue process offers quick archival publication for papers that meet the highest standards.

African Historical Review

ISSN: 1753-2523eISSN: 1753-2531

The African Historical Review is the successor to Kleio: A Journal of Historical Studies from Africa, which was published by the Department of History at the University of South Africa (Unisa) for more than thirty-five years. It therefore has a long and distinguished history. Originally conceived as a research and teaching forum for histories taught in the Department and to promote the work of students and staff, the journal has more recently been transformed into a publication in which high quality articles on a wide variety of historical subjects have appeared. The outstanding level of professional research and writing displayed in the journal has been recognised internationally, and from 2004 it became an accredited academic journal in South Africa, earning subsidy from the Department of Education. It is being relaunched as the African Historical Review in order to attract both a broader readership and contributor base and to showcase scholarship beyond southern Africa thus emphasising its intention to articulate southern African studies with continental African scholarship. The African Historical Review is independent of any professional society or association. Its mission, as befits its base in Africa and its new name, is to be transdisciplinary, responsive to theoretical developments in research relating to the continent of Africa and within fields closely linked to historical and heritage studies (including teaching) more generally. We welcome contributions from both established and younger scholars on themes from or in Africa, and would like to encourage innovative writing and research on a variety of topics and with an array of theoretical frameworks. This journal is accredited with the South African Department of Education.Routledge HistoryPromote Your Page Too.

American Journal of Sociology

ISSN: 0002-9602eISSN: 1537-5390

Established in 1895 as the first U.S. scholarly journal in its field, American Journal of Sociology remains a leading voice for analysis and research in the social sciences. The journal presents pathbreaking work from all areas of sociology, with an emphasis on theory building and innovative methods. AJS strives to speak to the general sociological reader and is open to sociologically informed contributions from anthropologists, statisticians, economists, educators, historians, and political scientists. AJS prizes research that offers new ways of understanding the social. AJS offers a substantial book review section that identifies the most salient work of both emerging and enduring scholars of social science. Commissioned review essays appear two or three times a year, offering the journal's readers a comparative, in-depth examination of prominent titles. Although AJS publishes a very small percentage of the papers submitted to it, a double-blind review process is available to all qualified submissions, making the journal a center for exchange and debate "behind" the printed page and contributing to the robustness of social science research in general.

Howard Journal of Communications

ISSN: 1064-6175eISSN: 1096-4649

Culture, ethnicity, and gender influence multicultural organizations, mass media portrayals, interpersonal interaction, development campaigns, and rhetoric. Dealing with these issues, The Howard Journal of Communications, is a quarterly that examines ethnicity, gender, and culture as domestic and international communication concerns. No other scholarly journal focuses exclusively on cultural issues in communication research. Moreover, few communication journals employ such a wide variety of methodologies. Since issues of multiculturalism, multiethnicity and gender often call forth messages from persons who otherwise would be silenced, traditional methods of inquiry are supplemented by post-positivist inquiry to give voice to those who otherwise might not be heard. Forthcoming issues of the journal will highlight Asian concerns.Peer Review Policy:All research articles and review papers in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review by the editor and at least two anonymous referees.Publication office: Taylor & Francis, Inc., 325 Chestnut Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
