The region of the Balkans and the Near East has assumed an important geo-political and global economic significance since the end of the Cold War. This territory, which includes old and new nation-states of the former Ottoman Empire and Soviet Union, stands at the crossroads of an expanding West (NATO, the EU) and a re-emerging East (Russia, China, India). A focus on the Balkans and the Near East in a more globalized world must involve the re-examination of widely held assumptions, modern historical claims, and political, economic and security assertions concerning the nation-states of Southeastern Europe and the Near East. In this context, the Journal of Balkan and Near Eastern Studies seeks to address, in an historical and theoretically-informed manner, the complex historical, economic, political, diplomatic, cultural and security issues that confront the region, in the light of such important developments as the process of European integration, the evolution of NATO, and the more general changes in the international governance system after the end of the Cold War in Eurasia and the terrorist attacks on the United States on 11 September 2001. The journal encourages modern historical research, comparative approaches, critical scholarship and a diversity of international relations and geo-political views on the region, as it seeks to construct an academic forum to bring together disparate scholarly perspectives. The Journal of Building Performance Simulation (JBPS) is the official journal of the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA). The Journal of Contemporary European Studies (previously Journal of European Area Studies) seeks to provide a forum for interdisciplinary debate about the theory and practice of area studies as well as for empirical studies of European societies, politics and cultures. The central area focus of the journal is European in its broadest geographical definition. However, the examination of European 'areas' and themes are enhanced as a matter of editorial policy by non-European perspectives. The Journal intends to attract the interest of both cross-national and single-country specialists in European studies and to counteract the worst features of Eurocentrism with coverage of non-European views on European themes.The Journal of Contemporary European Studies pursues a thematic approach to individual issues by dedicating a section of each issue to the examination of a specific theme, although there is also ample scope for outstanding individual articles that are not related to the theme of each issue. Journal of Cultural Economy is part of the Culture, Economy and the Social publishing programme of the ESRC Centre for Research on Socio Cultural Change (CRESC). Its concern is with the role played by various forms of material cultural practice in the organisation of the economy and the social, and of the relations between them. As such it will provide a unique interdisciplinary forum for work on these questions from across the social sciences and humanities. These include the contributions of actor network theory and science studies to debates about the 8216;performativity' of the economy and the social and the parallel discussions about the distributive nature of economic and social agency across networks of things and persons that is evident in social anthropology, and material culture studies.In cultural studies, feminism and sociology, a range of perspectives have been deployed to explore the making up of social and organizational identities, and this has been complemented by approaches to the governance of economies and of the social stimulated by Foucault's work on 8216;governmentality'. This has been paralleled by important historical work on the relations between culture, economy and the social. A renewed focus on material cultures of production and consumption has also been animated by the work of Gilles Deleuze and of Pierre Bourdieu. While all of these approaches to the relations between culture, economy and the social have interacted with and influenced each other, there has been a relative shortage of debate across and between them. Spatial Economic Analysis is a pioneering economics journal dedicated to the development of theory and methods in spatial economics, published by two of the world's leading learned societies in the analysis of spatial economics, the Regional Studies Association and the British and Irish Section of the Regional Science Association International. A spatial perspective has become increasingly relevant to our understanding of economic phenomena, both on the global scale and at the scale of cities and regions. The growth in international trade, the opening up of emerging markets, the restructuring of the world economy along regional lines, and overall strategic and political significance of globalization, have re-emphasised the importance of geographical analysis. Spatial variations in economic development within cities and regions are also highly topical subjects for intellectual enquiry and have long been the focus of policy initiatives by national, regional and local governments. The awakening emphasis on space among economists has been stimulated by the emergence of a new breed of theory, namely 'new economic geography'or 'geographical economics'. Transition Studies Network was founded in 2002 as CEEUN-Central Eastern European
University Cooperation, with the aim to connect a group of experts and university faculty
in a program of cooperation devoted to research programs and specialized international
postgraduate and doctoral courses. The Network has grown fast and soon after the scientific
“voice” had been established with the Journal Transition Studies Review, published by Spring
Wien-New York. At the beginning, it was focusing on transition in Central and Southeast
Europe, interpreting CEEUN purely as European network. Soon later, the EU enlargement
of the aims and scope to Russia, Ukraine, Caucasus, the Black Sea and Mediterranean
regions was achieved. From 2005, a worldwide regional approach looking to Asia,
Latin America, Eurasia and Great Middle East has been implemented. To the previous
CEEUN, TSN-Transition Studies Network had been taking the heritage and the “aims and
scope” were recently better integrated.Transition Studies Network has progressively involved in the last ten years more than 400
internationally well known members and 95 university departments, institutes and research
centres and is engaged in many areas and programs. The scientifi c interests and fi elds are
covering: Europe and the World, future approach to EU enlargement, the global governance
economic, fi nancial and policy framework and impact, where it focuses especially on growth
theories, innovation and human capital, main advanced industrial sectors technologies,
investments, international affairs, foreign policy choices and security, monetary policy and
main currency areas, banking and insurance, development and area studies, social policies,
environment and climate, culture and society, juridical and law studies, regional approach to

World Archaeology was established specifically to deal with archaeology on a world-wide multiperiod basis. Thirty years after it was founded it remains a leader in its field. Social work as an academic discipline was reintroduced to universities in the Chinese mainland in the 1980s. The number of universities offering social work programs has increased drastically in the past two decades. Social services provided by government organizations and NGOs have also proliferated as a response to rising social problems and needs. China Journal of Social Work (CJSW) is the first academic English journal jointly edited from Hong Kong and mainland China, to focus on social work development taking place in China. CJSW is an international peer-reviewed journal published by the Taylor and Francis Group, in collaboration with Peking University - The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, China Social Work Research Centre. Cognitive Neuropsychology aims to promote the investigation of human cognition that is based on neuropsychological methods including brain pathology, recording, stimulation or imaging. The research can involve brain-lesioned or neurologically-intact adults, children or non-human animals as long as it makes an explicit contribution to our understanding of normal human cognitive processes and representations. Cognition is understood broadly to include the domains of perception, attention, planning, language, thinking, memory and action. The research may, additionally, contribute to issues regarding clinical populations and the neurobiology of cognition.
