Debatte: Journal of Contemporary Central and Eastern Europe

ISSN: 0965-156XeISSN: 1469-3712

Debatte: Journal of Contemporary Central and Eastern Europe seeks to provide a radical critical analysis that is sympathetic to democratic, labour, feminist and ecologist movements from contemporary economic, social, cultural and political perspectives and developments in the region bounded by Germany in the west and Russia in the east. We are particularly interested in all writing on the social, cultural, and political life of Germany and Eastern Europe which connects the specific problems of the region with the wider issues of world order, globalisation, and inequality. We are looking to combine political commitment, academic rigour, contemporary relevance, stylistic accessibility, and journalistic flair in order to create the kind of publication that straddles the boundaries between academia and social/political debate; addressing itself equally to specialist scholars in the field of Central European Studies, political activists, journalists, teachers, and other interested readers. Debatte, welcomes a variety of submissions from the social sciences, historical and cultural studies; all innovative and original analyses of any aspect of the region falling within the purview of the journal will be considered. All unsolicited manuscripts received will be subject to a rigorous peer review process. We are also interested in features beyond the traditional fare of academic journals, such as documentation, interviews, and eyewitness accounts, and will on occasion translate articles from journals published in the languages of Central and Eastern Europe which would otherwise not be available to our English-language readership.Disclaimer for scientific, technical and social science publications:Taylor & Francis makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the "Content") contained in its publications. Globalizations

ISSN: 1474-7731eISSN: 1474-774X

An Introduction to Globalizations the JournalIntroduction TranscriptA Message from Professor Barry K. Gills - Editor of GlobalizationsGlobalizations publishes work which explores new meanings of globalization, brings fresh ideas to the concept, broadens its scope and contributes to shaping debates of the future. Globalizations is dedicated to opening the widest possible space for discussion of alternatives to a narrow economic understanding of globalization. The move from the singular to the plural is deliberate and implies scepticism of the idea that there can ever be a single theory or interpretation of the term. Rather, the journal encourages the exploration and discussion of multiple interpretations and multiple processes that may constitute many possible globalizations, many possible alternatives. The journal is open to all fields of knowledge, including the natural, environmental, medical, and public health sciences, as well as the social sciences and humanities. Globalizations encourages multidisciplinary research and publishes contributions from all regions of the world.Themes of the journal include: Global Political Economy: stability and change; inequality poverty and global justice Global Environmental: crises versus sustainability Global Public Health: pandemics and remedies Global Gender Relations: exploitation versus empowerment Global Human Security: conflict, peace and collective responsibilities Global Culture: singularity versus multiplicity Global Governance: institutions, organizations, movements and global civil society Global Ethics: values, dialogue and praxis Peer ReviewAll research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by two anonymous referees.

Environmental Communication

ISSN: 1752-4032eISSN: 1752-4040

Environmental Communication: A Journal of Nature and Culture publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed scholarship that examines theories, practices, and processes of communication as they relate to the environment around the world. As such, the journal serves as a nexus, a place of global connection and conversation, among scholars working in and across a variety of disciplines who explore how humans communicate about and within both natural and cultural environments. The journal also seeks to promote interaction between academic scholars and those who practice environmental communication, including community members, industry professionals, government officials, and others, through a number of special features, including a regularly published section devoted to practice. The journal is grounded in two theoretical and practical commitments: 1) symbolic and natural systems are mutually constituted, and 2) effective engagement with environmental issues requires reflection on communication practices and processes. Consistent with those commitments, the journal will promote the following goals: * Develop theoretical concepts, models, or formulations that uniquely explain or illuminate the material and symbolic dimensions of human interfaces with the non-human life world. This journal will seek to publish environmental communication research that contributes to the development of broader theories and ways of understanding how humans communicate with one another in various places, communities and cultures. * Present and engage in conversation multiple approaches to exploring environmental communication, including empirical, experimental, cultural, ethnographic, textual, ethical, rhetorical, and critical. This journal will open to publishing work that examines important issues (such as the promotion of 'just sustainability' in urban and rural environments around the world) and concepts (such as the 'environmental self,' the ways in which one's self-concept relates to one's surroundings) from a variety of methodological perspectives within communication and other fields. The journal also hopes to engage scholars from a variety of disciplines, with distinct perspectives, frameworks, and research findings, as well as practitioners in the field, in productive conversations about environmental communication concepts and practices. * Explore the tensions and possibilities between conventional academic scholarship and more participatory 'action research' that are experienced by many scholars who work in environmental communication. This journal will highlight, celebrate, and also interrogate 'pracademic' activities engaged in by scholars, teachers, students, and advocates, in communities urban and rural, in the United States and around the world. Praxis Essays We invite a variety of submissions, including: research reports based on experimental, survey, or field research; theoretical essays; literature review; and critical case studies. We also publish a regular Praxis Essays section that showcases engaged scholarship. For the Praxis Essays call for submissions please click here. Research Synthesis in Applied Linguistics

ISSN: 2998-4475eISSN: 2998-4483

This journal is methodological in focus, so it welcomes research syntheses on all topics in Applied Linguistics, but especially those that have a strong relevance to professional practice (e.g., language teaching, learning, and assessment).

Research syntheses, or evidence syntheses, are a type of secondary research that employs systematic, transparent, reproducible, and often pre-registered methodologies to synthesise published research ( Chong & Plonsky, 2023Chong & Plonsky, 2024). The focus of research syntheses can be substantive (e.g., language testing, translanguaging) and/or methodological (e.g., narrative inquiry). In the field of Applied Linguistics, meta-analyses are traditionally the predominant form of research synthesis, accounting for most of the published synthetic work. Nevertheless, this journal welcomes submissions of not only meta-analyses but other emergent types of research syntheses, especially those that employ qualitative methodologies (e.g., qualitative research synthesis, scoping review, systematic literature review) as well as methodological papers on the specific stages of conducting a research synthesis.

Watch this video to understand more about what research synthesis is in Applied Linguistics. The Research Synthesis in Applied Linguistics Special Interest Group of the British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL) organise events on conducting research syntheses; their website also hosts relevant resources and information.
