The Journal of Mathematical Sociology

ISSN: 0022-250XeISSN: 1545-5874

The Journal of Mathematical Sociology is published in association with the International Network for Social Network Analysis, the Japanese Association for Mathematical Sociology, the Mathematical Sociology Section of the American Sociological Association, the Methodology Section of the American Sociological Association, and with the generous support of the UCLA Division of Social Sciences . The Journal of Mathematical Sociology publishes articles in all areas of mathematical sociology. The Journal of Mathematical Sociology also welcomes papers of mutual interest to social scientists and other social and behavioral scientists, as well as papers by non-social scientists that may encourage fruitful connections between sociology and other disciplines. Reviews of new or developing areas of mathematics and mathematical modeling that may have significant applications in sociology will also be considered. Because Journal of Mathematical Sociology is addressed primarily to sociologists it is anticipated that most articles will be oriented toward a mathematical understanding of emergent complex social structures rather than to an analysis of individual behavior. These structures include, for example, informal groups, social networks, organizations, and global systems. Papers on sociological and statistical methods are also welcome. Peer Review Policy: All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based first on screening by the editor and then anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees. Publication office: Taylor & Francis, Inc., 325 Chestnut Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Worm

ISSN: 2162-4046eISSN: 2162-4054

Aims & Scope:

Worm publishes original research involving nematode model organisms, in particular C. elegans. Worm provides a forum for the research community to promote research, ideas, and technical advances of interest. Since findings in invertebrate model organisms like C. elegans often also have important implications for vertebrates, articles published in Worm are important to the wider research community including those working to understand the molecular basis of human diseases.

Worm publishes brief reports and longer research articles, technical and methodological advances, commentaries and review articles covering all areas of research from development to evolution, from genetics to systems biology, from metabolism to neurobiology and from molecular biology to genomics. Because Worm is not topic-oriented, it is well suited for multi-disciplinary studies or studies transcending traditional areas of research. Worm also encourages submission of short reports and articles whose initial audience might be primarily the worm community itself. In addition, it is possible to directly submit manuscripts rejected elsewhere with reviewer's comments included for quick assessment and potentially rapid acceptance.

Submitted manuscripts are initially assessed by the editors and if found suitable for further consideration, will be subject to peer-review by independent experts.

Questions regarding the scope of the journal and informal inquiries about the suitability of manuscripts may be directed to the Editor-in-Chief at hutter@sfu.ca.

Authors may submit to the journal online at  http://worm.msubmit.net/cgi-bin/main.plex

Emergent Scientist

eISSN: 2556-8779
DOAJ Logo

Welcome to Emergent Scientist (EmSci), the first open access student-oriented scientific journal.

Reading, writing and reviewing articles is a major part of the scientific process and should be as such included in scientific education. However, most professional journals are too technical to be accessible to students in training: a solid background is required to understand articles, it takes a long research experience to produce new publishable material and only well-established scientists are invited to review submitted manuscripts.

EmSci offers students a unique opportunity to get acquainted with scientific publication.
