The Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America (ISSN 0037-1106) is the premier journal of advanced research in earthquake seismology and related disciplines. It first appeared in 1911 and was issued on a quarterly basis until 1963. Since 1963, it has appeared bimonthly (in February, April, June, August, October, and December). Gifted and Talented International (GTI) is an international, refereed journal publishing articles that significantly contribute to our understanding and promotion of giftedness, talent, and creativity in children, adolescents, and adults. Its purpose is to share current theory, research, and practice in gifted education with its audience of international educators, scholars, researchers, and parents.

GTI publishes original research, theoretical studies, systematic literature review papers or accounts of practice. Energy use and supply is of fundamental importance to society and, with the possible exception of agriculture and forestry, has made the greatest impact on the environment of any human activity - a result of the large scale and pervasive nature of energy related activities. Although energy and environment concerns were originally local in character - for example, problems associated with extraction, transport or noxious emissions - they have now widened to cover regional and global issues such as acid rain and the greenhouse effect. Such problems have now become major political issues and the subject of international debate and regulation. It is for this reason that there is a need for a journal dedicated to energy and environment issues. Energy and Environment is an interdisciplinary journal aimed at natural scientists, technologists and the international social science and policy communities covering the direct and indirect environmental impacts of energy acquisition, transport, production and use. A particular objective is to cover the social, economic and political dimensions of such issues at local, national and international level. The technological and scientific aspects of energy and environment questions including energy conservation, and the interaction of energy forms and systems with the physical environment, are covered, including the relationship of such questions to wider economic and socio-political issues. Papers covering energy related aspects of wider environmental questions are included, such as the use of fuel wood and continuing impacts of de-forestation. A major aim of Energy and Environment is to act as a forum for constructive and professional debate between scientists and technologists, social scientists and economists from academia, government and the energy industries on energy and environment issues in both a national and international context. It is also the aim to include the informed and environmentally concerned public and their organisations in the debate. The journal provides economists, financial specialists, and scholars in related disciplines with much-needed opportunities to share their insights with worldwide colleagues. Peer Review Process As soon as the Editorial Office receives a submitted manuscript, the Editorial office will forward the manuscript to an appropriate Subject Editor based on the paper content and initiate the review process. The Subject Editor examines the submitted paper to determine whether it falls within the scope of JCIE. If it does, the Subject Editor selects a panel of referees to perform the paper's review. Referees are normally asked to respond within four weeks. If they are late, reminders are sent. If the Subject Editor does not receive a timely response from the referee, the manuscript is then sent to an alternative referee. The Subject Editor then evaluates reviews when they come in. If a review is deemed lacking in critical quality (i.e. the technical and scientific strengths or shortcomings of the work have not been adequately addressed), then an additional review is sought. Copies of the reviews (at least two) are referred to the Subject Editor who examines all materials and decides on a course of action. The decision is also checked by the Executive Editor and is then conveyed to the author by the Editorial Office.
