SAGE Open Medical Case Reports (SCO) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes case reports and case series across all areas of medicine and health sciences. Many primary research journals do not publish case reports and case series; however, we believe they are an important part of the evidence base and provide real-world clinical insights that can help physicians to improve patient outcomes. The International Journal of Impact Engineering, established in 1983, has as its objective the publication of original research findings related to the response of structures, bodies and materials from the exposure to impact and blast events. Papers concerned primarily with the fields of mathematics, materials science or computation, with little direct relevance to impact and blast dynamics, as well as those of a purely descriptive nature will be declined.. However, well-designed and well-documented experimental studies that advance the body of knowledge are encouraged. Manuscripts that focus on parametric studies (e.g. using commercial software), unaccompanied by convincing validation and discussion of application of results generated, as well as papers on novel computational techniques without comparison with established methods or test data are also not solicited.Papers in the International Journal of Impact Engineering should generally be of interest to aeronautical engineers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, naval architects, nuclear engineers, ocean engineers, offshore engineers, transportation engineers and workers in other branches of engineering and science who are involved in various aspects of impact and blast loading.Companion papers Authors should aim at submitting manuscripts that can be reviewed on their own, without assuming that preceding or subsequent related manuscripts will be published. Authors of companion papers should inform the Editor of the reasons for publishing their work in multiple parts.

The ease of migration has brought global change and a multitude of new issues and opportunities for nations and immigrants. To reflect an interdisciplinary and broader range of subjects, the Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Services has been renamed the Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Studies. As always, the journal remains a peer-reviewed publication that is now interdisciplinary and international in scope exploring issues such as immigration policy, health and mental health of immigrants, sociological and/or economic implications of immigration/emigration, and business practices in serving immigrants and refugees, present and future programs and services, and other related topics.The Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Studies explores the effects of worldwide migration. The range of opportunities offered across the globe as well as traumas caused by war, revolutions, famine, terrorism, and economic difficulties have seen the movements of thousands of people who have left their homes, migrating either across regions or across borders. Nations are faced with the task of developing policies and programs to accommodate these waves of migration, particularly in the face of the increasing displacement of large groups of people. Countries losing citizens must adapt to the drains on their workforces. On the other hand, movements of people also provide unanticipated opportunities to nations that accept newcomers, many of whom may bring substantial human, social, and financial capital. Migration, then, has benefits and difficulties both for those migrating and for the nations affected. Resources entering countries can enhance and strengthen them; however, xenophobia, cross-cultural conflicts, and adaptation difficulties can be particularly troubling. This journal explores the experiences of migration, its social, economic, and political impact on receiving nations and regions, and the effects of emigration on the home territories. Special Issue: Human Sex Trafficking Women & Criminal Justice is the only periodical devoted specifically to scholarly interdisciplinary and international research on all concerns related to women and criminal justice. It provides scholars with a single forum devoted to this critical specialty area in the fields of criminal justice, human rights, law, politics, sociology, social work, and women's studies. Both qualitative and quantitative studies are welcomed, as are studies that test theories about women as victims, professionals and offenders. The journal is refereed and features original research articles from academicians and professionals in the field that reflect its interdisciplinary and international focus, such as: * cross-cultural studies on gender, race, ethnicity, and criminal justice * socio-legal and historical studies on gender and crime and victimization * gender studies on women professionals * theory pertaining to women and criminal justice * women and the law * women in crime and punishment literature * women as victims of rape, incest, battering, stalking and sexual harassment * women and human trafficking * implications of legally mandated change for professionals, victims, and offenders * juvenile females in the criminal justice system * women in criminal justice professions, including academia * incarcerated women (legal rights, programs, pregnancy, AIDS, children of incarcerated women, aged and infirm, women on death row) * legal restraints on improving the conditions for women in the criminal justice system * international efforts to respond to the needs of women in the criminal justice system. Women & Criminal Justice periodically presents commentaries where authors exchange ideas and discuss methodological issues and present reports of ongoing research and research findings. A summary of the laws and court cases that pertain to women will also be presented. Special thematic issues have covered such topics as the criminalization of a woman's body and women and domestic violence; a special theme on human trafficking is currently in process. Peer Review Policy: All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review; there is anonymous refereeing by two (and sometimes three) anonymous referees. If manuscripts are given a revise and resubmit status, then there is editorial screening and a second review by the anonymous reviewers. If a manuscript is given a qualified acceptance (accept with minor changes), then there is editorial screening to ensure that the changes were made before acceptance.

The IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing  addresses the growing field of applications in Earth observations and remote sensing, and also provides a venue for the rapidly expanding special issues that are being sponsored by the IEEE Geosciences and Remote Sensing Society. The journal draws upon the experience of the highly successful “IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing” and provide a complementary medium for the wide range of topics in applied earth observations. The ‘Applications’ areas encompasses the societal benefit areas of the Global Earth Observations Systems of Systems (GEOSS) program. Through deliberations over two years, ministers from 50 countries agreed to identify nine areas where Earth observation could positively impact the quality of life and health of their respective countries. Some of these are areas not traditionally addressed in the IEEE context. These include biodiversity, health and climate. Yet it is the skill sets of IEEE members, in areas such as observations, communications, computers, signal processing, standards and ocean engineering, that form the technical underpinnings of GEOSS. Thus, the Journal attracts a broad range of interests that serves both present members in new ways and expands the IEEE visibility into new areas.

This journal is 100% open access, which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or their institutions. All articles are currently published under Creative Commons licenses (either CCBY or CCBY-NC-ND)*, and the author retains copyright. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles published under CCBY, or use them for any other lawful purpose, as long as proper attribution is given.    Articles published under CCBY-NC-ND are also available to users under the same conditions as CCBY, but the reuse cannot be for commercial purposes or change the work in any way. 

Open access is provided through the payment of an article processing charge (APC) paid after acceptance. APCs are often financed by an author's institution or the funder supporting their research.

The articles in this journal are peer reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the IEEE PSPB Operations Manual (sections 8.2.1.C & 8.2.2.A). Each published article was reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a single-blind peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. Articles will be screened for plagiarism before acceptance.

Corresponding authors from low-income countries are eligible for waived or reduced APCs.
