Journal Guide

Socio-Economic Planning Sciences is an international journal devoted exclusively to research in this important, but under-represented area. It provides a medium for research that might not appear in more specialized journals, either because of the interdisciplinary or applied character of the study, or the mathematical/quantitative nature of the research. The journal thus serves as a focus for investigations that have hitherto appeared in widely-scattered sources and/or less-than-appropriate sources.

Socio-Economic Planning Sciences strongly encourages contributions dealing with applications of quantitative models and techniques to important decision problems in the service and public sectors. Of particular interest are accounts of such studies carried out in developing countries and economically emerging regions of the world. Review articles in important methodological and substantive areas are also of interest.

The principal criterion used in evaluating a manuscript submitted to the journal is: uniqueness or innovation of the work in terms of the methodology being developed, and/or its application to a problem of particular importance in the public or service sector and/or the setting within which the effort is being made, e.g. an emerging region of the world. That is to say, of the model/methodology itself, the application, and the problem context, at least one of these must be unique and important.

Additional criteria considered in reviewing a submitted paper are its accuracy, the organization/presentation (i.e. logical flow), and writing quality.

Representative of the topic areas included in the journal are the following:

Studies directed toward the more effective utilization of existing resources, e.g. mathematical programming models of health care delivery systems with relevance to more effective program design; systems analysis of fire outbreaks and its relevance to the location of fire stations; statistical analysis of the efficiency of a developing country economy or industry.

Studies relating to the interaction of various segments of society and technology, e.g. the effects of government health policies on the utilization and design of hospital facilities; the relationship between housing density and the demands on public transportation or other service facilities: patterns and implications of urban development and air or water pollution.

Studies devoted to the anticipations of and response to future needs for social, health and other human services, e.g. the relationship between industrial growth and the development of educational resources in affected areas; investigation of future demands for material and child health resources in a developing country; design of effective recycling in an urban setting.

Antarctica and the Arctic are of crucial importance to global security. Their governance and the patterns of human interactions there are increasingly contentious; mining, tourism, bioprospecting, and fishing are but a few of the many issues of contention, while environmental concerns such as melting ice sheets have a global impact.

The IEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society (J-EDS) is an open-access, fully electronic scientific journal publishing papers ranging from fundamental to applied research that are scientifically rigorous and relevant to electron devices. The J-EDS publishes original and significant contributions relating to the theory, modelling, design, performance, and reliability of electron and ion integrated circuit devices and interconnects, involving insulators, metals, organic materials, micro-plasmas, semiconductors, quantum-effect structures, vacuum devices, and emerging materials with applications in bioelectronics, biomedical electronics, computation, communications, displays, microelectromechanics, imaging, micro-actuators, nanodevices, optoelectronics, photovoltaics, power IC's, and micro-sensors. Tutorial and review papers on these subjects are, also, published. And, occasionally special issues with a collection of papers on particular areas in more depth and breadth are, also, published. J-EDS publishes all papers that are judged to be technically valid and original. All research papers benefit from rapid peer review and publication, and are deposited in IEEE Xplore.

New for IEEE J-EDS: Expansion in areas of display technologies.

The IEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society (J-EDS) has been committed to publishing papers ranging from fundamental to applied research relevant to the broad family of electron devices and has now extended its mandate to provide a home for timely dissemination of new results on all aspects of display technologies to meet growing demands. This replaces the recently discontinued IEEE/OSA Journal of Display Technology. It gives me great pleasure to take on this exciting task of Special Editor to expand the pool of manuscript submissions in displays to J-EDS as well as to bring in new areas encompassing the science and applications of displays. Papers are solicited in all areas of display technology including: flat panel displays (LCDs, OLEDs, electrophoretic, etc.); active matrix architectures, including flexible/foldable displays; quantum dots and quantum-LED and -LCD displays; micro- LED displays; 3D and holographic displays; electronic paper; micro- and projection-displays; materials, components, manufacturing, and packaging; on-pixel and off-pixel drivers, interfaces and display systems; modeling and simulation; reliability and testing; solid-state lighting; applications; emerging technologies and wearable including medical applications, encompassing displays, sensors, and devices; and human factors. Expanded coverage on display technology is scheduled for Spring 2019 that will consist of invited papers overseeing a wide range of display technologies. My aim is to have J-EDS rapidly establish itself as a home for display technology that is worthy of capturing the latest and greatest in the field.

The objective of the American Journal of Primatology is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and findings among primatologists and to convey our increasing understanding of this order of animals to specialists and interested readers alike. Primatology is an unusual science in that its practitioners work in a wide variety of departments and institutions, live in countries throughout the world, and carry out a vast range of research procedures. Whether we are anthropologists, psychologists, biologists, or medical researchers, whether we live in Japan, Kenya, Brazil, or the United States, whether we conduct naturalistic observations in the field or experiments in the lab, we are united in our goal of better understanding primates. Our studies of nonhuman primates are of interest to scientists in many other disciplines ranging from entomology to sociology. The American Journal of Primatology welcomes for consideration manuscripts from all areas of primatology. This includes but is not limited to the behavioral ecology, conservation, evolutionary biology, life history, demography, paleontology, physiology, endocrinology, genetics, molecular genetics, and psychobiology of the nonhuman primates. As well as publishing in established areas, we seek submissions on new and developing types of primate studies. The journal publishes original research articles, reviews and commentaries. Proposals for special issues on a particular theme are also welcomed, and may be guest edited. The American Journal of Primatology is the official journal of the American Society of Primatologists. The journal is published monthly in three quarterly volumes. In addition, a supplemental issue presents the scientific program of the annual meetings of the American Society of Primatologists.

Journal of Radiation Research and Applied Sciences provides a high quality medium for the publication of substantial, original and scientific and technological papers on the development and applications of nuclear, radiation and isotopes in biology, medicine, drugs, biochemistry, microbiology, agriculture, entomology, food technology, chemistry, physics, solid states, engineering, environmental and applied sciences.
Papers dealing with radiation processing, or the biological, chemical or physical effects of radiation are appropriate for publication in Journal of Radiation Research and Applied Sciences.

Relevant topics for Journal of Radiation Research and Applied Sciences include also, measurement of radiation and radioactivity, nuclear and radiation regulation and safety. However, authors are encouraged to suggest other topics which might also be published in the journal.

The Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Sociales y Políticas (Mexican Journal of Political and Social Sciences) in its Nueva Época (New Epoch) is an academic journal published by the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México-UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico). It aims to offer an open forum for scientific thought in the social sciences, thus contributing to an innovative academic and institutional profile.

Committed to a plural and comprehensive perspective and geared towards the enhancement of academic and professional trajectories of social scientists, scholars and experts, RMCPyS, in its New Epoch, strives to set forth avant-garde and innovative knowledge, in a socially pertinent and scientifically relevant manner. Orthodontic Waves is the official publication of the Japanese Orthodontic Society. The aim of this journal is to foster the advancement of orthodontic research and practice. Clinical Microbiology and Infection (CMI) is a monthly publication in English of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and publishes peer-reviewed papers that present basic and applied research relevant to therapy and diagnostics in the fields of microbiology, infectious diseases, virology, parasitology, immunology and epidemiology.

Cross-Cultural Research (CCR) publishes peer-reviewed articles that describe cross-cultural and comparative studies in all human sciences. Each issue, published quarterly, examines topics that span societies, nations and cultures, providing strategies for the systematic testing of theories about human society and behavior.

Current Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine (CPPM) is a transdisciplinary peer-reviewed biomedical journal that reports new findings and cutting-edge concepts in both pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine under a single cover. CPPM is an accelerator for global personalized medicine and pharmacogenomics. Importantly, the journal provides a multi-disciplinary integrated platform from cell to society to address diagnostics and responsible pharmacogenomics applications in developing countries.

The Organizações & Sociedade (O&S) is a quartely journal which has a target of spreading the production of knowledge in Administration and linked areas. The articles published by the journal draw (configuram) a broad epistemological range with emphasis in relevant theoretical and methodological basis. Besides articles aligned with mainstream knowledge, the journal opens a significant space for articles in a bordeline of knowledge sheltering articles addressed to non conventional subjects. The O&S journal accepts articles on public, private and Third Sector organizations, covering a inter, multi e transdisciplinarity, inserting dialetically organizations in the context of the complexity of contemporary society.

Pediatrics and Neonatology (previously Acta Paediatrica Taiwanica) is the official peer-reviewed publication of the Taiwan Pediatric Association and The Society of Neonatology Taiwan. Having merged with Clinical Neonatology, Pediatrics and Neonatology will continue to be a forum for the presentation of new findings and new insights in these fields, as well as for the continuing education of practitioners and physicians for excellence in clinical and academic pediatrics and neonatology. It is published bimonthly by Elsevier and is indexed in EMBASE, MEDLINE, SCIE, SCOPUS, and SIIC Data Bases.

Physiology publishes invited review articles written by leaders in their fields. These articles are peer reviewed and highlight major advances in the broadly defined field of physiology. The journal also publishes shorter articles that either present important emerging topics and technologies or differing points of view. Finally, the journal highlights and briefly summarizes some of the most exciting new papers in physiology. With a new format that is both exciting and attractive, the journal is a valuable tool for researchers, educators, and students.

Plains Anthropologist, publishes manuscripts with a focus on anthropological theory, method, and practice as it pertains to the Great Plains in all categories (articles, reports, short contributions, and comments) that synthesize, integrate, and interpret anthropological knowledge of the Great Plains peoples and cultures. Plains Anthropologist is one of the benefits of membership in the Plains Anthropological Society. Manuscripts concerned with areas other than the Great Plains will be considered if they are of theoretical importance or if they bear upon problems of humans in Plains settings.

Research results relevant to the analysis and prediction of observed atmospheric circulations and physics, including technique development, data assimilation, model validation, and relevant case studies. This includes papers on numerical and data assimilation techniques that apply to the atmosphere and/or ocean environments as well as socioeconomic analyses of the impacts of weather and weather forecasts. MWR focuses on phenomena having seasonal and subseasonal time scales. Reviews of climatological aspects of high-impact events such as hurricanes, as well as review articles, are occasionally published.
